Sea calm,
Crew slept,
Dark side,
Sea kept,
Tide raced,
Waves crept,
Crew woke,
Sails prepped,
Coiled spring,
Waves leapt,
Overboard,
Crew swept,
Left behind,
They wept.
For the sea has no respect
For the nautically inept …
Trying to claim me?
Carve my heart with a catch phrase;
Scalding fantasy
willfully suffocating,
make me question what I see;
A poet taken,
in the darkness of this room;
The marks on my neck
possessed by the sin you bring;
Broken by the blood and ink;
Oh Inspiration,
suck the life out of my lips;
Swallowing my pen
quickly pulling me under
I know I am claimed.
The Beauty of the Heavens is that God
Hath claimed us for Himself in Holy Robes...
And given us our Paths that walking, broad
And narrow we, by Words, may span the globe.
There is no other necessity than Him,
Than Her, and Her sweet Will, there is no need
Because our way is lit with fire, no dim
Confusion forces us to go with speed...
Who, then, needs wonder where High Way will end?
God hath provided Hopes and Trials Along
The Mountain Trail of rocks -- whisht! With a friend
The price is only steps, the cost, a song!
We need not bind our days in fearsome fetter
But only hope at end we will breathe better!
Moments of clarity stop the clock,
but time rolls on and on
Unrecorded, to stay embedded
in each wish unfulfilled
Tranquilizing the fleeting doubt
that truancy sets free
Returning with the future claimed
—to liberate the past

A fool
A rich father
A poor boy
A dream
The theater
Of experience
One whines
The other screams
The reckoning
Once predicted
Is here
The world in flames
The fool
Just canon fodder
The boy
—his riches claimed

Death,
Called to me… before
Life,
…Ever had a chance
And..
…Left its mark on me.
Claiming my soul as its own
Snuffing that glorious spark
That never grew.
Leaving nothing left
For this world
But a hollow vessel
That this world
Has filled with sorrow.
Pet May Be Claimed by Owner
By Elton Camp
I found your pet in my backyard
Catching it proved to be very hard
How you’ve cared for it is a shame
For it isn’t even a little bit tame
Why, I even have to hold it tight
Because it persists in trying to bite
No name tag or collar does it wear
Such information you ought to share
I haven’t been able to get it to eat
Even when I offered a doggy treat
So come and claim it right away
It would be best if done today
It’s a rattlesnake five feet long
So to someone it must belong
If there’s a reward, let me know
If not, I’ll still be glad to see it go
