Things are changing every day
People, their moods
You, me; us
Constantly
We tend to grapple to find the balance
It's a constant ebb and flow
You find yourself in a sphere of having to run to catch up at times

But sometimes we need to not run
We need to not chase
We need to rest
Find the balance
Because as much as we feel the need to catch up
We also need to be centered
If we're not centered, we will be pulled in all directions
Holding onto things; we should let go
Clinging to people that were part of a chapter and not the whole book

So if you do anything today, remember to catch a breath
Remember to smile
Remember the good
Especially in these times where good and rest seem to be but a memory for most

Self-Centered

Falling apart hurt
From feeling so wrong, so right
For egoistic heart.

Premium MemberSome Say

I've heard some say
Life is short.
Enjoy. Enjoy.
Do enjoy while you can.

So some say:
Do the eat, drink and be merry dance
   for now is here
   and domani be quite questionable.

Push aside all others. They just get in the way.
Be first in line.

Ignore the poor.
What have they to do with you?
They wouldn’t be needy if they worked harder,
Right?

What? No ticket for tomorrow in your pocket?
No matter—you can always steal one.

Life is short.
Enjoy the enjoy.
However you can.
While you can.

And many a day
I’ve heard some so say,
say without the words,
say with the doing,
that just-for-me-nobody-but-me-me-ism.

So I've heard some say.
So I've watched some live.

A selfish yes
An unkind no
Blind eye to pain
Deaf to insane.

Pray how
does one retrace
for to find that forgotten face
to touch that trembling hand
the soft unheard to hear
the blank unseen to see.

Pray how
does one unchain
a lifetime of links serpentine...
    I hooked to me
    me addicted to I
I for me
and me for me.

All the ways and all the days
all of the all of everything
that always be
just for me.

Can Be Conceited and Self Centered

should have spent more time
with dear ones that I do love
meant so much to me

can be conceited
is way that they want to be
meets their own purpose

do put pills in drawer
will not spill them anymore
know what they are for

had been deep in doubt
so brought whole bottle out
with glee she did shout

when we start to swing
different tune would always sing
 with me Bible bring

inner peace, is in your soul

Premium MemberBe Kind Anyway-Tribute To Mother Theresa

People are often unreasonable
And self-centered
Forgive them any way
If you are kind people may
Accuse you of ulterior motives
Be kind any way
If you are honest people
May cheat you
Be honest anyway
If you find happiness people
May be jealous
Be happy anyway
The good you do today
May be forgotten tomorrow
Do good anyway
Give the world the best you have
And it may never be enough
Give your best anyway
For you see in the end
It is between you and God
It was never between you and them
Mother Theresa of Calcutta
A heart of pure gold
You cared for the unwanted
You gave joy to the unloved
And you stood by the uncared for
Continue to rest in bosom of the lord

Fiddle Dee Dee Scarlet says when asked to nap with the other girls
I want to party she argues, dancing with her feet, her hair in curls
She sneaks down to where the men are and takes Ashley off
Expressing her love which is rebuffed, she hears a man’s cough.

It is that renegade, Rhett Butler, who is a scoundrel and a scamp.
You are no gentleman sir she says, and flounces off in a stamp.
Rhett is immediately smitten, and decides to woo this little pretty.
The Yankees are coming, Civil War is taking a toll on Atlanta’s city.

Belle from the brothel gives money to Melanie for the troops.
Melanie is Ashley's wife; she, takes it with appreciation, no hoops.
Scarlet marries sister’s beau, Mr. Kennedy when she sees he is rich.
Scarlet is truly a conniving, self-centered, diabolical b……

Gone with the Wind has humor and laughter and heartache galore.

Premium MemberSelf Centered Tranquility

Inside of our embryonic bubble,
immune from outsiders trouble
Blissfully detached, so unaware
without any single, worldly care
Permanent ecstatic, numb state
contented, equilibrious, sedate

Seemingly impossible, extreme
I can barely, realize in a dream
Perhaps zoned out, on cocaine
goofing off, to Nirvana’s Cobain
Serotonin’s, absolutely buzzing
my perfect lover, she’s stunning

Is this just being, self centered
never have to run, take shelter
Am I the only one, of this kind
perhaps, have a one track mind
Unable to think, beyond today
godless aberration, in disarray

Helping out others, feeling used
giving to charity, getting abused
Being judged, pretend neighbors
giving service, looking for favors
Lock me up, in a heavenly tomb
like it was, inside mothers womb

Good intentions, bring confusion
everyone wants, easiest solution
Do no bad or good, its the same
agnostic, but that’s just a name
Put all this together, and add up
joyous poem, or equally corrupt.

Inspired by, but not for, Unseen
seekers (joy continuum contest)

Ignorance

Self absorbed, inconsiderate,
Thinking only of yourself,
Your disregard for others is palpable,
You lack feelings for others health,
Focusing on your own pleasures,
Fun is more important than rules,
Egotistical, self-centred, narcissistic that's you,
Your thoughts are "I will worry if I catch it",
Just remember those around you could catch it from you,
A deadly virus is not a game,
Your lack of concern is a crime,
Your opinionated you dont see the bigger picture,
You just carry on enjoying yourself,
Breaking all the rules you just dont give a dam,
Your empathy for others is so sweet ........ NOT

“The Drawing”

The lines set rapidly upon the page
In a rush previously unimaginable to
My wrist. Possibly quadrupling my pulse.
A scratching. I even hear the nib crosses
Mark the masses of form and shadows,
Beginning to execute
A design: the idea goes forth like
A burst artery, like a poem
Of its own flow, it seems, taking on life.
I may even think of other things, yet watch
As the moves of the draining of the ink continue,
Although my eyes do seem to command and
Direct what is drawn of the seen and to-be-seen —
A sensing sight from a centered inspiration —
That my wrist and fingers try to speak..
Oh, look! Isn’t THAT amazing! How
The strokes on the lush, forested face of
A mountain are calling for the same, very
Same course as drawing
The feathers of bird wings! I see
A soft meditation upon the Lord as my wrist
Continues...drawing the wings of a mountain!

Swirls Centered and Settled

Would you there strongest tie not your knot
To That which the feeble me fakes not?
To that which the frightened me fears not?
To the sunken souls of the sadist me not?
And on ultimatum live in deceptions of desires,
Drained and dusted by winds long gone.

Would you there at best convince me again,
To the then lost, the love and in vain maintain,
To the then rumours, the winds gone and in it claim,
That for which the hearts heavy find happiness pure,
And on the ultimatum live in receptions of longing,
Dipped and dusted in fines of golden gestures.

Won't you for which I write, read and comprehend,
The codings, the wordings whirled and undefined,
That for which I shall presume to have embodied,
All my give-aways, the swirls centered and settled.

the piano strings that thread
the telephone poles
just outside where i reside
hum a stale tune through the clouded air
exit
a horrid sound
fills black
the evil heart

i fear their poisoned blood
will flood
the terrain
of an already ailing world

and you know
it is the vulnerable who suffer first

every chord in my body distorted
with no knowledge
of who i should address

i fall to my knees
whisper the word
“mercy”
