Some moments of laughter
Make glad hearts merrier, the agile mind sharper
Hours after
I like good jokes
They shut down a chronic carper
Please folks
Fine pun
Makes us smarter
Fun
Some moments of laughter
They shut down a chronic carper
Fun!

When you hide the seething pain under a smile,
Making it look easy, to the people vile.
You eclipse the surging anger with a yes.
While masking your emotions fighting to resurface.
Being a victim of the nagging thoughts in the mind.
Speaking of the memories that were left behind.
Choosing to remain strong even when in pain.
Requires a will of steel and a goal to aim.
Silencing the arguments with a scream, so mute;
Your soul reverberates and strengthens the route,
To your success that takes you afar,
From the cavils of a carper and remains of the scar.

My Life
Written: by Tom Wright
February 2015
The life I’ve had has been spacious,
And having lived it, I decline to be a carper.
I’m from detached family who seldom relates
But does that mean we don’t care?
I’ve endured the heat, and winters cold,
I’ve felt life’s pleasures, and often, its pain.
For the earlier part I floundered in confusion,
A spirit active, but to a misfit tune;
I staggered blindly, as if with sleep filled eyes,
And my life, was a canvas stained by untruth,
Until Jesus, touched my adolescent heart;
And God’s spirit moved across my years.
God purged me of all previous vexations,
Showing me, that beyond my dull and ordinary,
Picturesque dreams lay beyond this life.
No longer we’re my dues for life delinquent,
Jesus had paid them at the cross.
Tammy owns a lot of dogs, she has fourteen.
She has more dogs than anybody I've ever seen.
She has Miniature Pinschers, Chihuahuas and Pit Bulls.
She also recently acquired two Jack Russells.
Tammy had a Jack Russell named Rosie that she lost last year.
Rosie died or was stolen, what happened isn't exactly clear.
There is one thing that's easy to define.
Tammy loves all of her fourteen Canines.
(Dedicated to Tammy Carper who has a lot of love for dogs.)
Tammy Carper is the best friend that I've ever had.
She takes care of me and that makes me glad.
She's nice to everybody who she meets.
Everybody loves her because she's sweet.
She took care of my pets while I was hospitalized and that was kind.
Just having her for a best friend, gives me peace of mind.
Mom liked her and many others like her too.
Tammy is good, she's a friend that's true.
She took me to Mom's funeral when she died.
Best friend should be spelled T-A-M-M-Y.
It was a great day when she was born, on that you can depend.
If you ever meet her face to face, Tammy will also become your friend.
(Dedicated to Tammy Carper.)
Something almost tragic happened in 2010.
I came very close to losing my best friend.
She died and they revived her by taking electric paddles to her.
If she had perished, it would've been devastating to all who knew her.
When we rode on the school bus, she always gave me a seat.
She's very nice and everybody is priveleged who she meets.
I believe that God was behind her being saved and I know why.
God knows like I do that she's too nice of a person to die.
(Dedicated to Tammy Carper who nearly perished.)
Let the heat from
the sun
guide you through
the day
Only a brief song
before the silence
Fireflys will light up the nigth
Until morning
when the next day
rolls out its carper of green
along with the gogeous colors
of the many flowers
which line your path
Take joy in this brief moment
Before the cycle of light
and shadow
Pulls you to the earth
Another day rolling on
Feel the peace which comes
from and acceptance
