Breaking Rules... Poems | Examples

Premium Member Invisible Worlds

A spark ignites, ideas take flight,
In minds that dare to shine so bright.
Colours swirl and rhythms flow,
As seeds of inspiration grow.

Outside the box, we love to think,
You are connecting dots with invisible ink.
Imagination runs wild and free,
Painting worlds that no one can see.

We mould and shape with hands so bold,
New inventions from young to old.
Mix and match, try something new,
There's no limit to what we can do.

Problems solved in unique ways,
Thinking sideways through the haze.
Breaking rules and making more,
Creativity opens every door.

From art to science, music to dance,
We take ideas and give them a chance.
Each mistake is a lesson learned,
Every failure, wisdom earned.

So let your mind roam far and wide,
With creativity as your guide.
For in this gift, so rich and rare,
We find the power to change and dare.

Did you hear about that politician doing something illegal

..

…pick one
Triden or Bump
The or wins every time
All the new politicians
wore new suits
but everyone ones starving
Tell you what it is a good strategy
Less to rule
My queen was Freddie
No kings in Scotland
and your creepy brother
needs locked up
And mate seriously you need to go to speck( was gonna do a bit about tunnel vision then I remembered)
savour how sublimely this line turns into rhy
Me a name you call yourself
Breaking rules
Every law was flawed
Thor was sawing a puss ycat kin half
I think I might write a false history book
where a.I. Primary purpose is to begin the creation of
humanity so that they create a.I.
They know the difference between a duck
One of its legs is the same as the other one
Why not Robyn Hood
I wanna be the first woman to play Batman
We got here marvellously
Bye

April Fools' Day

Today’s a time for breaking rules
And telling jokes and playing pranks,
Since it’s the day of April Fools;
For warning you, I need no thanks.

Just be aware of what you hear
Or what you see or even read.
On April Fools’ the atmosphere
May swirl around with smiles we need.

The weather even seems confused –
First rain, then sun and later, storms,
With Mother Nature quite amused
As coats are shed from wind that warms.

Right now I’m soaking up the sun;
My calendar is newly flipped.
For what takes place ‘til day is done,
I think I’m fairly well-equipped.

Replace Negative With Positive Way of Life

We are watching TV news indicating catastrophes, people
discriminating and being prejudiced against others while
sinning, doing bad things, telling lies and environmental
problems created at Camp LeJeune.
Breaking rules should be in there somewhere.
Why do people write, "Letters to the Editor" anyway?
What do they want to gain from their letter? Article
might be an expression of dissatisfaction, disagreement
and doubt. They may be filled with animosity also
We could be giving credit where credit is due, being
positive, patient, loving and kind.
People have been killed or injured, affected by bad
weather, calamities and health problems. and
things that are terrifying.
We must give credit where credit is due. What you
give out is what you will receive in return. Give out
love, kindness and mercy and will receive the same
back.
Do not criticize others to build yourself up. Encourage
others to do good and better themselves. Would be
interested in reader's comments regarding this article
that I have written.

Breaking Rules

I always wonder at the folks
Who do not follow rules,
Who violate the status quo,
Think followers are fools.

A traffic light that’s red? Who cares?
No motorbikes allowed?
Let’s speed along where people walk
And blast our music LOUD!

A flight attendant wanting me
To sit here with a mask?
I’ll knock her teeth out; maybe then
She’ll be afraid to ask.

A bicycle chained up outside?
The owner’s not around,
So I can take it for myself
And show off what I’ve found.

The list can just go on and on;
This stuff just isn’t right,
Yet more and more we’re powerless
To stand our ground and fight.

When rules are made and put in place,
What used to be expected
Was that they would be followed
And not nastily rejected.

hush little poet, don’t say a word
big brother is watching and he has heard

be careful of what you do and say
or they might take your pen away

terms and conditions are admin’s tools
you’ll get locked out when breaking rules

be mindful of every word you write
a clear screenshot might stop a fight

if you feel the need to vent
don’t write a blog with ill intent

now if your blog gets taken down
it’s in the rules so please don’t frown

speech is free not written word
don’t let them see you give the bird

rules are rules that’s what they say
capitulate to write, another day

Breaking a Rule

Breaking A Rule

Rules, yeah they have to be followed
But I really start to choose
To get answers to what happens when you break a rule
First thing , you own up to it
Honesty is the best key
That's how you do it
Don't screw it, get it right
Stop thinking darkness
Breaking rules come with caution
You have options
On what to do
So we need to follow the rules
Let's just choose to start off with one
Let's abide by it try it
See how following rules work
Paying attention, can allow you
Not to get hurt
It can work
Just listen
Pay attention, recreate
Do a lot
But please don't break the rules
Because you will have to deal
With what happens after
Im sure it doesn't require a lot of laughter
But it requires your mind to apply
To not break rules now you know why

Premium Member Old Love

My love is old
It no longer dances across the pages
With wanton desire
And graceful stokes
It is a blessing and sometimes a curse
Contented, clumsy and exposed
we're that same comfortable pair of shoes
tripping over one another
through the years
breaking rules and
shattered vows.
Smitten by our own laughter
For now, our puzzle fits.
Morning breathe with
soft kisses despite
forgotten anniversaries
but not forgotten lives.
Hurts that forgive
and hurts unforgiven
Arms that fold and unfold
but still never letting go.
It has enmeshed
Intertwined over the years
Like clinging vines that have tangled.
Only to be unraveled
by the hand of death.

Believe In What Your Heart Is Saying

POEM "BELIEVE IN WHAT YOUR HEART IS SAYING" by martin gedge

Stay close to what you know
not shy of words nor feelings show
to guide you where you want to go
and test the weight of time
for deep inside this pure of spark
with every pulse and piece in part
to bring of light and shut the dark
I keep my place in line
for hard at seams we're chasing dreams
breaking rules and colored schemes
to fascinate and follow memes
that share a common thread
we have a trend to always bend
but never lie or try to end
what we believe and will defend
the pounding in our head
for train of thought has often got
a double take and trouble shot
of all the hurt that hits the spot
and rules the able brain
we thrust to seek the truth we speak
has sprung into a wiki leak
to spill of tales of tongue and cheek
we soak into the shame
for fake I will not sell my share
for all of those I love with care
from spitting teeth to pulling hair
to keep of what is true
to catch a cold or catch my death
with nothing more and nothing left
I'll beat this heart with every breath
to stop from turning blue...

Premium Member Stop Breaking Rules, Warning

Good grief! We all know what plagarism is.

If we steal a poem on-line, and claim it as our own.....

We just broke copyright laws.

Poetry Soup has supports any infringement

against such rules.(sic. US Laws)

I suggest you remove ALL such Poetry, like NOW?

Better be yourself than steal others work.

We all..struggle and strive to be our best.

Don't get bounced off the soup!

Clear your decks!

Integrity and rules apply to us all..

Noisy Toys and Building Bricks

noisy toys and building bricks
girls and boys in football kits
playground fights homework books
summer nights disprooving looks
growing pains and butterflies
test and gains that qualify
leaving school hunting work
breaking rules going berserk
frequenting pubs getting drunk
discover love and have a bunk
find a spouse and settle down
buy a house outside of town
have some kids start to fight
hit the skids stay out all night
get divorced loose your job
feel remorse become a snob
find yourself loose the weight
discover wealth start to date
love again this time for real
hide the pain but start to feel
watch your kids have there own
building bricks and a noisy zone
grow too old and then retire
feel the cold and loose the fire
close your eyes then drift away
as life dies the memories play
of all the joys the one that sticks
is noisy toys and building bricks

Always Suspicious About

Always Suspicious About

We have always been suspicious of AXIOS;
Have spread many rumors and are verbose;
Breaking rules;
Draining pools (And swamps),
And like Trump we wish would die a dross.
