Technological Breakdown

Technology has done much good,
but can’t cure the common cold,
it can keep you looking young,
but not from growing old.
'Let your fingers do the walking,'
used to be the plan,
nowadays, it's all thumbs and emojis,
as smart phones dumb down man.
When online, doing a search,
no matter what I type,
the 'engine' always knows best
and 'corrects' my text to the current hype.
Mostly, I'm so tired of being asked,
by AI, 'How did we do?'
when, in the end, I did all the work,
now, how about you?

A Nervous Break-through

What if it’s only a nervous breakdown if you bottleneck and bury the emotions that are trying to come through you?
That’s what causes the breakdown.
The resistance to what is,
the stopping of the process before it has an opportunity to move toward realization and resolution. What if something beautiful is actually happening within you,
something that wants to heal and move into full authenticity?
What if this is not a nervous breakdown,
but a nervous break-through,
a profound emotional cleansing,
a dissolution of the false structures that have ruled your life,
a breaking through to a more authentic state of being?

Premium Member Anatomy of a Breakdown

     too many choices
     whispered voices

     nagging doubts
     indecision sprouts

     anxiety flips
     paralysis grips

     nervous breakdown
     brain shuts down

     lowered into the ground
     world yet goes ‘round

Why breakfast matters

I accidentally burned my breakfast toast.

I gave a thirty minute monologue
on this heinous crime.
To what’s left of the crust,
I stared, then cursed, then laughed
so hard the room shivered
and in the echoes—
Surprise!
I found the voice I choked
for being ‘inappropriate’—

—Time to toast.

I was startled by my cracked laughter,
as the cat groomed herself
indifferently witnessing
my twenties
spent trashing a toaster.

I announced, to the stinging smell of embers,
“We’re filing a complaint
to whoever put us
in this world where you can’t trust a toaster…”
But we all know,

in a week,
I'll likely trust it again.

BREAKDOWN

        Body disorder
It is when the brain commands
       body sans obey.

HUMAN BREAKDOWN

     Total freedom of expression
  that incites death, suicide,
     and destruction.
it is not freedom, but terrorism...,
      subservience
       and slavery...
it is not a thing of God...
  BUT RATHER A FAILURE...
   A HUMAN STUPIDITY!

Humanity collapse...

AS IT WAS

I want to rewind and not change,
Stay and hold on to the days when your name felt like home.
When our conversations were not careful,
When love wasn't something to be attenuated,
But something that simply was.

I'm surviving the silence you left behind,
Trying to fill the gaps with memories,
Tricking myself, saying time can walk backward,
Can undo the unraveling, and can stitch ourselves whole again.

This is not war but absence,
Not betrayal but distance,
Not anger but the quiet ache of being left behind.

I don't know where to place this longing,
The pain to return to the place that no longer exists.
But if love was once real, does it still echo?
And if I reach for you, will I only find empty air?

Working toward a nervous breakdown she said
Hoping to have three before I am dead
Think she’s already had one said uncle Ed
Let’s count it as three said his brother Ted

No Breakdown Cover

I’m avoiding real life
behind the safety of my front door,
a machine left to cool in the dark,
fuelling when I can,
pushing through with oil instead of blood.

Belts seize,
tensioners wound too tight,
injectors fail to fire;
each spark fades like memory -
ignition slipping to static.

The valves stick,
hardened by grit and rust;
maintenance deferred,
wear settling deep in my bones.

Now this machine
is as cold as stone,
no combustion,
barely ticking over,
an engine meant to go but left to stall,
avoiding real life, one breath at a time.

Sometimes a breakthrough comes from a breakdown

Changes are necessary
Pressure helps the process
Less we forget that we all
Only have a season to fulfill our purpose in life

Sometimes a breakthrough
Comes from a breakdown
Sometimes a storm
Shows you the path you need

Breaking the mold
At times we need to be bold and
Remember that a broken heart
Can still be victorious!
We all need to grow in our thinking and
Remember that sometimes a breakthrough
Comes from a breakdown because
In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity!

Smoke Screen

Dopamine’s bright haze,
Fingers touch the blaze.
Face in a smoke screen,
Breaking from the scene.
 Text, audio and video:
     Digital tango.

   Virtual, she lies,
Glass reflects her eyes.
Curled upon the bed,
  By the pixels fed.
 Tears of erotic joy;
  Dust on every toy.

Daughter whines for bread,
  Homework left unread.
Morning comes and goes,
  Cold the kitchen grows.
  Fridge is empty space;
    Anger fills the place.

      In a limbo-land,
He reaches for her hand.
 Whispers soft and low,
  Seeking her to know.
  Pleading for her sight;
     Lost to LED light.

    Head in the cloud,
Wrapped in silicon shroud.
   Chasing digital stars,
 Fleeing phantom scars.
   Fantasy’s cold kiss;
     Artificial bliss.

   Hours turn to day,
 Always this same way.
  Prone and all alone,
 Bound to Android phone.
Broadband’s reach so wide;
  Family cast aside.

Scrumble's

Keeping my composure
I sought through
the differences
either furtherance
or closure
this one means everything
tension from frustration
like jackal stalking
the lions
someone might come along
and consecrate my gains
Nothings right
aint nothing wrong
it's just the way it is

if she say yes
then then I guess
I'll speak my love for her

If she say no
then I'll let her go
and try to be evasive
not to let my feelings show

Breakdown

Everything is boring these days.

Hugs and smiles are boring.

I’ve evolved.

It’s me, it’s always been me.

But now, there’s been a transformation.

I feel like saying that, and yelling that, and texting that.

And…I’m crazy.

And…I’ve devolved.

I went away and came back.

It was silly. It was like a dream.

I was dramatic back then.

I smile again.

I hug my mom, and it’s real.

It was like a dream.

But maybe some changes stuck, after all.

Healing

I don’t hear them anymore.
The voices have slowly faded away.
I’m now beginning to realise that the fears,
and the strange thoughts inside my head,
were delusions built on paranoia.

Oh the peace the relief is indescribable.
They was no one there,
only me.
I had been sick...
