Premium Member Sulking and Sculling

There once was a guy who crafted a poem;
it’s possible that you might even know him.
It seems that he had a way with the verse;
he wasn’t the best, but he wasn’t the worst.
They’d come in a flurry, the bad and the good;
he’d try to transcribe them as fast as he could.
Inevitably, there’d be a cessation;
it seems his muse would go on vacation.
It was times like these, when the words weren’t flowing,
he decided to try his hand at rowing.
With a handle and chain instead of an oar,
he got in good shape and built up his core.
With thousands of others, he entered a race,
and managed to snag an age group first place.
He thought maybe then that he might see his muse;
the subject of rowing perhaps could be used.
Return of the linguist: on fire, on fleek!
Alas, but instead, just the paddle-less creek.
Now bound and determined to settle a score,
he’s sulking and sculling towards some distant shore.

I didn’t take long to think of a PLAN
To win the heart of beautiful JoAnn
Her very presence was magnetic for sure
My courting and poetry helped to lure her!
My mission was clear for she was the one
I was bound and determined to be the man she had won!
59 years later it’s clear I was blessed!
The most important mission of my life helped us create a great family nest!!

Premium Member I Stood Up To That Woman

This story was relayed to me......

Was there magic in those rainbow lights...
Shining on that bar room floor
'Cause last night something turned one beer
Into seven more!

Well...I got home just a little late
And I couldn't find my keys
I thought it was mighty nice of her.....
To open the door for me
And there she stood.......

Well she talked about my mother...
And then cussed me again
But I was bound and determined
To pitch my two cents in

With macho words like Why? and Don't!
And Oh baby....Please
I stood up to that woman!!
On my knees

Well that old couch was concrete hard
Since our waterbed was so smooth
'Thought I'd go upstairs and see
If she was in a better mood

So I knocked on our bedroom door
'Said honey I just can't sleep
'Thought it was mighty nice of her
To open up for me
And THERE she stood.....

Well she talked about my mother...
And then cussed me again
But I was bound and determined
To pitch my two cents in

With macho words like Why? and Don't!
And oh baby Please!!
I stood up to that woman!!
On my knees

Second Chance At Love Or Just Forget It

Can this only be the begining of love,
He was perfect in my eyes,
before he wanted me to change,
whether it was my body or my looks,
or even the style of my clothes,
 I was too young,
to realize that he only wanted me
for one thing
and one thing only,
and that was to satisfy his lust for the flesh,
But i still loved him,
Even through the betrayal of finding him with a bestfriend,
Who was suppose to never betrayed me,
Even through sacred oatrhes declared since a young age.
I did not need this misery in my life but i continued to love him,
Until one day I decided to give up on love itself.
I grown cold ,and so distant,
I did not socialize and I had become the outcast in Highschool.
No one wants to date a girl weho is cold remote and distant,
I am bound and determined to find the right lover in my life,
But who can i ask advice for who is truely my friend
and will not betray me
the way my own bestfriend did!!

Dishes

Ok one poem,
Then to work for me.
I felt guilty this morning,
Then I broke down,
 And washed my dishes.
I thought I would drown.
The plate wasn’t so bad,
Nor was the spoon,
But the pan lid and pan,
Sung a different tune.
I got in there and did it,
I was bound and determined.
It took less than a minute,
To my good fortune.
It seemed an eternity,
To get this job done,
Is not where I wanted to be,
It was not much fun.
The water was so hot,
That the grime couldn’t riot,
Next time You come over,
Then you can try it.

For Ricky

You were a strong person.
You overcame so much.
You were bound and determined
to overcome this one.
Your body may not have been strong enough,
But your soul was, and still is.
We will miss you terribly,
You will probably miss us.
But you are no longer suffering,
and I'm glad of that.
I can't wait to see you again.
You were one of my "Daddys".
But we'll all see you again in that big place in the sky,
one day.
Your body maybe in the ground,
But your soul lives on forever in our hearts.

Pin Up Girl

i am a woman
tell me what is that
sometimes i feel
i'm too thin
too tall
too plain
and too fat
i am a woman
where's the holy grail
will you still love me
the next day
and the next
when i'm old
when i'm frail?
i am a woman
where's my sister in this game
and when i feel like
a complete
incomplete
obsolete low down shame
i am a woman
not your object to claim
you don't tell me
i'm too thin
too fat
not good enough or anything like that
for every blemish and hair on my face
every curve on my body
is a part of me
makes me real
makes me chase
away those of you
bound and determined
to beat me
defeat me
with precision
with haste
I am a woman
let's just leave it at that
i am what i am
too thin
too tall
too plain
and too fat
