The days I’ve spent lost to the world, so snug inside a book

The Bookworm Nursery Rhyme

Blue skies changed to scarlet
Sunset fell beneath the starlet

A pasture of stars, shimmering
Following the moon’s glimmering

Beautiful night, whispering light
Kissing with laughter so bright

Breathing joy and hope, beguiling

A Young Bookworm

I have always loved to read since I was a young child
I read Charlotte’s Web over and over, I was beguiled
I would walk for miles to the town library every week
And brought home books my parents didn’t like, sometimes freak

When I was nine, I climbed a ten-foot built-in bookcase in our house

When I was young, I took ballet
or in the sun with friends I'd play.
but once in school I learned to read,
on stories I began to feed,
especially when days were grey!

Upon the bed or couch I lay
for hours, and nobody could sway
