To All the People I Have Loved
I maybe a trickster and a joker
I maybe a day dreamer and a mystery
I maybe a beach bum and a bookworm
but I am still as sweet as Sky Juice
and as gentle as a raft
floating and drifting
inside of a shallow lagoon...

Devour a Good Book
Once a bookworm from Timbuktu
Devoured every book he went through
He was quiet scary
Ate every book in the library
First editions, hardcovers and paperbacks too

Bookworm
She sat in a corner and read and read,
continued to read as she lay in bed;
I guess she is clever - her brain won't rust
(although she's surrounded by piles of dust!)

just some silliness written 26th December for Sara's contest (about the reading option)...

I have had it, closed the door, turned the page read, absorb, apply and move on. A method to the madness; stagnation prevention... no moss grows on a bookworm. Stagnation clock-watching dead end job a dose of poblano couldn’t spice up.

She took that ring, that giant promise ring.
We all saw it, stunned, really, she’s much too young.
He saw her as the one, didn’t want to look around,
But she did, she saw the get out clause, before
A huge mistake. Now the field is open wide —
College by her side, the bookworm set.

BOOKWORM AND THE CLEVER TREE--

magical mountain
a solid, clever tree reads
betrayed by the books

those uncovered pages
read in the dark in the park
betrayed by the looks

classical words read
those squiggly page worm embraces
bookworm reads all day

New York
I was a budding bookworm in the Big Apple. A river of people rushing past was such a blur for a girl so small. This ocean pulls you in and spits you out like a bad sunflower seed. In a concrete jungle, people live in boxes on top of boxes. The sea of cars is always moving. Even at an age when everything was handed to me, there was no yellow brick road for me to follow, only sidewalks going every which way....

I Am

I am here
I am all seeing
I am all hearing
I am strong
I am brave
I am not afraid
I am who I am
I am a mother
I am your friend
I am always here
I am the adventurer
I am the bookworm
I am the writer
I am the individual
I am my own person
I am free
I am all of this and more
I am the person standing tall
I am the one you can trust
I am willing to stand by you always
I am not you
I am me that’s all...

Silverfish you are well-named,
Silver you have; and fish? Fake!
I haven't read all these books, famed,
Is it, hence, their ribs you break...?

Maps many you neatly mold,
With holes, in nooks, nicely knit;
Throats of my poem books, old,
Have you, dear, knowingly slit...??

Stepladder up to the ceilings

Held with high reasons and feelings

The bookcase

Volumes of joy and pure leisure

State their case as printed pleasure

A bookworm

Shape a life into linked chapters

Mind and soul as truth extractors

His bookmarks

Many things he can’t quite discern

Unfinished business much to learn

To bookends

Legends fiction subconscious streams

Myths fantasy and vivid dreams

Troll
I can’t reveal what I really feel
as I troll through Goodreads and Book!
Here’s a nice face, in this social space,
but smarts is much better than look.
Not ready for any, and there are so many,
and I enjoy speculating and dream,
that an older bookworm, with a heart warm
will think I’m as nice as I seem.
I seldom reach out, so filled with deep doubt,
to any potential cute reader,
though once in a while, a comment I’ll style,
but I’ll hide before I ever meet her....

Premium Member What Kind of Worm Are You
By the light of the moon the skeleton danced
He was exuberant, happy, thrilled with his mission
The surrounding shadows hid their eyes
Fearful of his excitement, afraid of who he might convert
What if they all started to shed their flesh? A chipmunk asked.
A worm who had been hiding under the same leaf nodded.
It could be anarchy, mayhem, a catastrophic Armageddon.
What kind of worm are you? The chipmunk asked. “A bookworm?”
The bookworm was silent; for he was a CIA bookworm....
