the burden of youth

The Burden of Youth

She was seventeen, and her boyfriend had left her
Life is more intense when you are young, she wanted to commit
Suicide so he could see how much he loved her.
Filled her rucksack with stones and waded into the bay, but
The water was low only to her chest when she reached the other side
Besides, she was glad to be alive.
She met a young man also unlucky in love, who took her rucksack
Filled more stones into it and waded into the sea, but now there was
High tide and the young man disappeared under the sea.
A few seagulls shrieked in the otherwise silent area as the girl waited for the bus.
To take her back to town, block out unpleasant thoughts, she said aloud.
My father is a communist, the bus driver who was a fascist stopped
Pulled out his gun and shot her dead, and the women on an outing clapped.
This was her father letting the red flag fly in the street of Utopia.

Cloud 9

You look like a Viking
Or like a Greek god
Not my usual type
It’s actually kind of odd

You’re masculine and kind
Like yin and yang combined
Sound body, sound mind
Just a man so refined

You have a sweet smile
And a great sense of style
Gonna think about it awhile
As I melt into this pile

And when I hear you speak
Of course it makes me weak
I follow the sound of your voice
Now there’s redness in my cheeks

I block out the noise
And I try to stay poised
But I crash and burn
When will I learn?

You’re crafted like a work of art
An inspiration from the start
Whenever you’re near or we’re apart
Thoughts of you whisper to my heart

I want to tell you how I feel
But you’re not mine for me to steal
Your heart belongs to someone else
You’re under another lover’s spell

There’s nothing I can do but pout
She’s a lucky girl without a doubt
I can’t ever say these thoughts aloud
So I’ll just lay here dreaming on my cloud

We built their prisons from their own blood

Their blood was the poison that would kill them
Their presence blinding
That's why they hate them
They come too close and try to touch them
But they didn't know that we are the sun
That trying to block out the sun
Would become their biggest problem

Actions have consequences
And we were their karma
The one thing they can't have our colour
Their envy would be their downfall
The sun feeds the earth its energy
So when you take it away, you better hope it has empathy
Or maybe we should take a leaf out of your book and show no mercy

Revenge is a dish best served with a side of justice
If you haven't realised yet we are the sun
We will burn of your skin until your flesh and bone
And drown you in a pool of your blood
So that you understood
That we all bleed red and to dismantle your victimhood
And now we watch you struggle in a prison of your own blood

Revisiting Slumber

Revisiting Slumber
Not wanted
Hinder from the sun
Revisiting slumber
Detached from everyone
One of those doomy moods
No spice toward encouragement
Loneliness is friendly
Rain is humming
Just going through changes
Into the unknown
A drought from society
Never show up when invited
Mind falling into emptiness
Covered up in cashmere
Block out windows heavily
One of those days
Yesterday is delayed
Another evening fades
Amber drink to the grave

Lethargic

Lethargic
No memory
One of those days
No motivation
Just laziness
Slumber in the day
Pull down the shade
Descend beneath
Into a deep sleep
Have you ever been Lethargic?
Submerged in silence
Falling away
Into the void
Turn off the noise
Darkness covers the light
Going under for hours
Block out the sun
Cease the night
Candles burn, no shine
Mind going down stream
Embrace the emptiness

Zoom In

Zoom In
Make change.
Emotions drain.
Don’t compromise.
The world is demanding.
Down in the valley.
Roadblocks, there are many.
Pessimistic are they.
Too much anxiety.
Have a purpose.
Zoom in.
Make a difference.
This journey is yours.
Dream past the horizon.
Stay motivated.
Block out all of the naysayers.
Fight for what you believe in.
Your shadow is beside you.
Focus on the goal.
Disconnect the negative people around ya.

Harder to see

Lord, you see...
Everything...
When I don't understand or my heart is too heavy to speak,
When my compassion overrides my logic,
Or when I still give beyond people's ill judgement,
When I close my ears and block out opinions,
Because I know many can be shallow without knowing the reasons,
I have fought for underdogs many times,
And when I have seen the truth underneath they're ways I've cried,
That not everyone and everything I see,
Is truly what everybody labels it to be,
And it's the harder path to take and easier to walk away,
And many will turn their noses up to you, and shun you the same way,
But my heart cannot ignore the love of your voice,
Because I know love is not just a feeling, it's a choice,

Free Will part 2

Free Will
So many roads to choose
With staggering views
Linger with privilege
Don’t take life for granted
Sought after marble dreams
Absorbing the sun under the tree
Just wondering
Life sometimes baffling
Free Will
Translucent future
If you ever get lost, follow the river
Pencil to paper
Count your blessings
Time is flying
Make good choices
It’s a waste of time to go down a hard road
Learn from everyone else’s stupidity
Walk a narrow road not with envy
Block out all of the drama
Be in solitude with no problems

This Mind of Mine-

My mind is a construct
I desire to escape from it
However the routine is complete
The self hating ritual has already begun
I desperately try to block out the criticism from within
But I cannot see myself how others see me
I am trapped in the never-ending conceptions of my own mind

The guns keep on firing the rockets still come

The smoke from the fires still block out the sun

The children still screaming the mothers still cry

A word full of war where the innocent
Still die

The government point fingers and still say
We are not to blame

You all make excuses but your all still
The same

Manifested our deepest connection

Baby, just take a sec
Put everything down
Look me deep in my eyes
Block out all of the sounds around
Let our souls intertwine
Don't be afraid
Weve loved one another
Since the beginning of days
Keep getting lost
In eachothers eyes
Breathe in real deep
Let out a deeper sigh
Know that I'm yours
For eternity & longer
Let our souls take over
N help one another grow stronger
You no longer have to be afraid
There will be no more pain
We have so much love in our hearts
Let them guide us,
Instead of these human brains

Mind of The Heart

uncontrollable,
taking action with no regard to the consequences.
a wounded warrior learning from it mistakes building its defences.
too say this lethal heart has a mind is absurd,
broken and shattered because of its blindness,
deeply wounded by every word.
then it gets attached to another heart,
mended from its mistakes,
until its time to part.
another lesson to learn,
another burden to carry,
another defence to rebuild,
now you got to try live a life while you try block out its howls,
you have to feel the pain of it yearn.

Making A Difference

Sometimes a curtain, might block out the sun
daylight I’m certain, meant for everyone
to shine on big things, that we need to do
to shine on small things, when they matter too

Sometimes the whole world, is just ten-foot square
four walls without words, to say if they care
for all those big things, that we try and do
or all those small things, when they matter too

Sometimes a shoulder, a fresh pair of hands
can lift that boulder and shift tidal sands
off all these big things, that we say and do
off all these small things, when they matter too

Sometimes persistence, can lead to a door
making a difference, or two, maybe more
clear skies will show us, how much this is true
clear skies will tell me, what matters to you.

Reality Is Too Real

It was always too late for us
can't be true love with zero trust
...confused
wondering if it was just lust
after not feeling good for so long
it felt too amazing,
for it to be so wrong
but reality hit us extra strong
both wanting the other so badly to be the one
and to finally feel like we found where we belong
even picking out our wedding song
like we didn't already know
that the highs would never block out the lows
holding onto to pain and resentments that we promised we'd let go
purposely hurting eachother
with words of ignorance constantly thrown
like a stabbing a knife into eachothers hearts and souls
more and more distant with every lie told
wanting us so badly,
neither would ever fold
knowing each bluff before it's even sold
something that was once a blazing fire
now feels freezing cold
that hollow love quickly got annoyingly old
convinced you just kept me around
for a warm body to hold

Facing Time

Do you ever think about others
Who've been in your shoes
How many have suffered
Not knowing the truth

Theres choices we make
Struggles some face
We do what it takes
Consequences to pay

Some act & don't think
They'll ever be caught
Days turn to weeks
Behind bars you'll rot

Some people will say
There's things we'll regret
Then comes that day
We wish we'd forget

Some people care
Others just use
No self-respect
Just an excuse

Sometimes we do things
We wish we could take back
Some will get clean
Get their lives back on track

Not everything works
We're not all the same
Some always hurt
Life's not a game

What would you do
If given a choice
Help the abused
Block out their voice

Months turn to years
Nobody will be there
Cry out your tears
Because life is unfair

You've got to realize
You've got to change
If you're "Facing Time"
It's already too late
