The Sun Knows

Clouds betimes block out the sun
The sun returns not the favor

Perhaps it knows a thing or two
  Familiarity's not what man savors

Some Days

Some days I think about you and laugh
Some days I think about you and smile
Some days I think about the good times we had
Try to block out the bad
The days I don't think about you don't exist

Whisper

Hear a Zephyr,
A Whisper.

Nothing lasts through eternity.

Except for a Zephyr,
A Whisper.

Confusingly, they don’t want to see.

Block out the Zephyr,
The Whisper.

Why do they focus on what will no longer be?

St George

Inside the season
behind a warehouse
the wind got away
The cause was dark
beyond those trees

I rode away
I saw the moon block out the sky
Facing eastern winds
I sought the harvesters
meshing an epiphany for St George

Happiness

HAPPINESS IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT
FOGUS ON IT AND SHALL COME
BLOCK OUT ALL THE NEGATIVE THINGS
THAT HINDERS YOU FROM THINKING POSITIVE

WITH A POSITIVE MIND FOCUS
POSITIVE THINGS WILL HAPPEN
MAY NOT HAPPEN OVER NIGHT
BUT KEEP FOCUSING AND IT WILL

The Stuff of Dreams

I sleep
on the side
to keep the devil
inside
but I need to turn
on my back
to sleep
in my thoughts
i'll alternate
Hail Mary and the Lord's Prayer
block out all other
subliminal noise
if it wasn't so serious
i'd laugh
instead i'm crying.

The Sound of a Breath

Sit still; block out all the noise

        Discard your troublesome woes

                 Take a moment of silence...

                          to hear yourself breathe!

Legacy For Sale

Did the choices you made
  scatter bodies behind you

Did you block out the light
  leaving others in the cold

Did you take your half
  out of eternity’s middle

Did the promises you made
 —become the legacy you sold

Promise

Questions I try to block out of my mind,
Really to keep my sanity alive,
So you can keep have a stronghold to come home to,
Through thick and thin my love,
"Forever and always" are the words I will never let go of as I tie them to my heart's veins, just so I can leave you this promise.

The World

While the country seems
To be in turmoil
You block out the world
Around you and crawl
Into your own space
Just to relieve yourself
Of the darkness around you
Meditate and fall into
A world of imagination
Where you can create
And be anything you want
In the world you just created

This Mind of Mine-

My mind is a construct
I desire to escape from it
However the routine is complete
The self hating ritual has already begun
I desperately try to block out the criticism from within
But I cannot see myself how others see me
I am trapped in the never-ending conceptions of my own mind

A Frustrated Cry

Block out the sound, block out the world
In your seat, small and curled.
Ignore the blaring siren of tears.
Ignore the insults your brain now jeers

Sigh, slow and deep, breathe in and out,
You can do this, no need to pout.
Wave the thoughts of doubt away
You can do this, you'll be okay.

Just One More

He says "Just one more" but that never happens! She's tired of this life There's never any satisfaction. She hides in the closet she's terrified of him. But will this nightmare ever end? So many bad memories, she can't block out the pain. If It's just an addiction then why does it cause so much shame?

Pick a New Path

Lay in bed and cry away
Ignore the hummingbirds
And the warmth of a sunny day
Block out all those words

Fantasies and fairy tales
A wish upon a star
You can dream but it always fails
You're lost, alone and far
Away from help today
Don't try to go back home
No, don't you try to go back home

Electra

She tipped to the grand Electra:
a hat filled velvet and tinsel,
a blinding devotion of sunsets,
a passion to sleep through the day.

And if in the morning you find her obliging
or curled 'round the edges and taut...
Hold your hand to your eyes to block out the light
and speak, if you've something to say.

I Try

I try to block out the pain
I try to block out all the hurt
I try to block out that your gone
I try to block out that im lost
I try to block out everything
There is too much pain
There is so much hurt
Cant block you out no matter how hard i try
It shows im lost
There somethings you just cant block out

Death of Love

My heart Your heart become one
We go under a tree to block out the sun
The heart beats boom boom
The love is filling all the room
me and you feel real good
we cant be in love
i wish we could
cause four years ago
i went strait above
yes im from heaven
i died long ago
but one thing remains here
our love from the soul

One

I see a light from behind
The statue of hope
In the dark of my mind
Am I the only one here
In whats left of this town
In a world broken down

I wear this sorrow like a hole in the head
My demons block out the sun
leaving me as the one
The one who exists for no one
Who shoulders the burdens
To live with nowhere to run

Hot Work

I put my hand to the sun
To block out the rays as the heat had sorely won
A slight breeze cooled my face
A drink I thought would not be out of place

As the sun beat on my shoulders and neck
This work was the hottest yet
But I stuck at it for a period had to defend
My part of the labour now at an end.

Still

The guns keep on firing the rockets still come

The smoke from the fires still block out the sun

The children still screaming the mothers still cry

A word full of war where the innocent
Still die

The government point fingers and still say
We are not to blame

You all make excuses but your all still
The same

Dragon

Standing in awe
Watching your flight
Dragons so graceful
A wondrous sight

Startling beauty
That cannot compare
Wings beating freely
I stand here and stare

Swooping and diving
All over the skies
My heart aches with envy
Tears fall from my eyes

Flying toward me
You block out the sun
Jaws gaping open
My life here is done

Embrace You

feel with your heart
think with your head
block out with the walls
turn off when it becomes to much
smile with your eyes
scream out with your lungs
cry out with your scars
punch with your words
hug with your arms
walk with the souls of your feet
run into walls and turn around
stand your ground
your here for a reason
just need to find it
good luck ?

Seasons Without Sunlight

Seasons Without Sunlight

The skies are so dark
Clouds block out the heavens
Day appears to be night
As the sun races past
The moon goes through its phases
Unseen and unnoticed
The darkness continues
Week after week
Month after month
The clouds drift by
A solid mass
Changing but always there
The coolness of autumn
The coldness of winter
Seasons without sunlight

Dead-End Dreams!

I have learned the lesson
that you so cruely taught
I've given up all hope of winning
this fight that can't be fought

I'm going to gather my thoughts
and then close my mind
block out love and beauty..
won't see them...I'll be blind

Then I'll close all my books
pack away all my pens
file away these silly dreams
for they've all come to an end!

Echoless Silence

Reaching through the blackness
Trying to find something to hold
When all I could feel
Was the harsh damp cold
Desperately trying to block out
The emotions that poison my soul
I lay slowly suffocating
Beneath the rubble of my broken dreams
As silent tears spill from my eyes
Mouthing hollow prayers with Vodka soaked lips
This echoless silence is driving me insane
