Whispered Affections

Whispered Affections

Whispered affections
on cold cotton winds
float gently this morning
in search of your smile

So in them you’ll hear
every feeling I send
of wintertime wishes
to hold for a while

Though in this sunrise
of dawn’s early scene
the distance seems farther
that we are apart

Still I can not help
but to follow my dream
for this love is endless
that flows from my heart

Carolyn Devonshire February 6, 2017 at 10:11 AM It's not uncommon to "whisper affections" to those who are far away. I like the way you have the words traveling "on cold cotton winds." To me, it is a picture of words written on clouds. I like the hope you express at the end. Even when they are far apart, two people can share deep feelings.
