Perhaps in a row they sit on their chair.
At their small object they all like to stare.
In an upside down world, the room’s silence grows.
They sit on their chair, perhaps in a row.

With both thumbs moving, such dexterity!
Faster than cheetahs their thumbs seem to be.
Some with small headphones also are grooving.
Such dexterity with both thumbs moving.

You utter a word; I doubt they will hear.
On screens, words are better than in one’s ear.
Conversing sans screen they might find absurd.
I doubt they will hear you utter a word.

I see them in class not looking at books
in spite of their teachers’ dirtiest looks.
Tell them to stop; they just give you their sass,
not looking at books! I see them in class.

Their phones are in use all hours of the day.
Do not even try to take them away!
You might be accused of phone/child abuse.
All hours of the day their phones are in use.

I see moms alone with a child that’s hurt,
Not even giving their child some comfort.
Nothing else matters but their precious phone.
With a child that’s hurt I see moms alone.

The cell phone’s their all - their almighty God.
Anything else for them must be a fraud.
Some only text you; they won’t take your call!
Their almighty God - the cell phone’s their all.

When did this begin? Bringing phones in school?
Kids who don’t have them are thought not too cool.
To take students’ phones is likened to sin.
Bringing phones in school. . .When did this begin?

A time and a place there is for all things.
I hate at the movies when a phone rings!
Cell phones at dinner? An utter disgrace!
There is for all things a time and a place.

Sadly, much worse, there’s texting while driving.
If you’re not trying to be surviving,
do it! Your next ride might be in a hearse.
There’s texting while driving, sadly much worse.

Nothing else matters to addicts, I know.
*Every cloud has a silver lining though -
Less actual talking with those mad as hatters!
To addicts I know, nothing else matters.

Upside Down

If the leaf wore a tree
And the ocean ate fish;
If a flower sucked the bee
And beans ate the dish;
If a beggar was chief
And a boy was a girl
A song would be brief
If a bird wore a curl.
If the grass chewed the cow
And night turned to day
I'm wondering how
Work might be play.
Wouldn't it be great
If the sun was the moon
If early was late
And a line lost its tune.
If all of these things
Were natural to do;
Then a song wouldn't sing
And teeth wouldn't chew.

Upside Down Teardrops Falling Gently

Upside down teardrops falling gently onto a magical mirror
as crystal chandeliers of soft light filters through reflecting
a treasure of pearls that speak to a thousand bounties paid,
whilst a sanding of polished memories stone cut a diamond,
at once, that’s truly regal once upon a time in a deep dream
that shows inside a mystical castle embodied around a circle
that splits into a quarter wherein four cells hangs a real picture
of truest beauty and love that bathes inside the ocean’s breath
and sighs, whilst murmuring your name and speaking of the tides
lost at sea, whereby all of us, at the end now, shall become sacred
sailors who must freely seek out and fulfill our own human destiny.

Upside Down Pompous Cake

½ cup sass
1 tbsp eye roll
2 cups suprirotive
1 cup white privilege
½ tsp rudeness
1 brand new car, softened
5 oz brand name clothing
A dash of allof, to taste

Add all ingredients together, while whisking in misinformed news media. Mix thoroughly for pretentious.

Turn Your Umbrella Upside Down

In a rain
downpour
to keep from
getting wet,
we open
an umbrella
put it
overhead,
but yet........
I wish
to make
a suggestion,
that may
take
a moment
to catch on,
for after
giving this
quite some
thought,
an idea
upon me
did dawn!

There is
another
type of
downpour
for which
this tool
could be
used!
Now
take a second,
and give it
some thought
for this
new use
I doubt
you'll refuse!
If the
downpours
are blessings
from Heaven,
in such
"ABUNDANCE"
that you wish
not to
drown,
you might
want
to consider
trying to
catch
every drop....
"by turning
your
umbrella
upside down!!!"

The very
idea
that the
floodgates
of Heaven
would be
opened
with such
a deluge,
means the
downpour
of blessings
would cover
the earth
WOW!!!....
Now this
would really
be HUGE!!!
So I hope
in your
life
good things
come your
way
that give you
big smiles
and
no frowns,
because
when it does
you'll want
to be
prepared....
"by turning
your
umbrella
upside down!!!"

Gray Day Turned Upside Down

Upside down rainbows
would be what my smiles are
right now...

as colorful and as bright,
just seeing these
beautiful reminders
of hope

two rainbows from the
rainbow nation
from one
bright and sunny friend
and her niece

how very fitting
and awesome...

gray day
turned
upside down :D

Premium Member Implosion

To be immune from aspersions mean and vile
May assuage our hurt feelings for awhile
But to really uphold the Golden Rule
We must also withhold words harsh and cruel—by poet

In an upside-down world
Where self-victimization
is a realization and hatred lingers, it goes nowhere
May not yet get it, and still not self-aware
Now some may think that healing is
Ignoring what is destroying and go on enjoining
others near them to do the same, their end game
Using, medicating with words as ammunition stored on a shelf
Toxicity is there, taken aback, down deep in yourself
Hatred lingers, collecting dust mites
Imploding, suffocating smites and is on reserve
In a mindset where glory they deserve
Personal gut-wrenching bile packaged
Collecting more dust, disgust has an impact
It only makes you a stronger hellcat
One that hasn’t let go of the baggage
Is in an upside-down world of their own
On their own and may think they’re OK
Flies in the ointment, stagnant, a delay, decay
In a world where “making it better” ails, and means
Undoing what has taken lives in time in details
Only bequests, and is deeded
A new form of healing is much needed
Healing is embracing the newest challenges
There are bigger issues, bigger things
Then just you, heed the warnings
It begins within

Upside Down World

"Upside Down World"

the lightness of being
the darkness of truth
still and silent jades

camouflaged
prisons in your
freedom greens

we touch the mirror
to see reflection
of the other

pools of forever
watching me
watch you

deep waters
undercover
private eyes

crisp green apples
worn out fading blues

The World Upside Down and Backwards

One of the funniest things in an amusement park are the mirrors
and the way your true image comes across
but unfortunately without the Blood of Jesus applied to your life
this is the way you and me look to God for without Him we are lost.

We in the natural with a humanistic twist
have tried to work out a clean and bloodless redemption plan
but the Lords way was perfect in the price of His Son
so how do we them match that do tell me if you can!

This old world’s views since the fall
are backwards and upside down if you please
its ways, take all of you can get while the Bible says
to get you must give and it says so not for us just to tease.

A life without Jesus is upside down and definitely
out of control
going nowhere in the fast lane as there is no way to escape
and one day all of us will have chosen where we will go.

As I mentioned before so say I again
we are backwards without Jesus as to how we are to view this life
for when He arrives on our dreadful lowly scene
if you will allow Him to, He will rid your life of peace stealing strife.

As a babe new born in our world
one of the first words a new baby will learn to speak is No!
they answer no to even good and wonderful things
that would have brought to their little face an awesome glow.

The central theme and message to this poem
was meant for this one fact
a life without Jesus, the Author of life is upside down and backwards yet
its needless to stay that way when He is wanting and welcoming to call you back!

Premium Member One Vision of a World Turned Upside Down

A silver shawl hangs heavy over the mountain
sky grey clouds shooting gun barrel smoke hiding sunlight

Looking out towards the ocean dreaming in wild north Atlantic waves
tides turn a little lamb suffering in the spring crouched cold

We all see visions of injustices flash before our eyes turn
for which no one is held responsible the standing joke of our century

So many people turn a blind eye as their souls have already been bought
children of this world have suffered at the hands of tyrant slave masters

Born free without chains attached what gives any race the God given right
killing innocent women and children destroying families unjust actions

Some of us on this planet are sick with an untrustworthy state of affairs
listening to what these monstrous brutes get away with

In the name of peace not twisted truths building bridges instead of walls
who ever sells arms are terrorists against the living

Democracy has no grounds only love the suffering because
behind the mask many in this world condemn us

Branded from birth marked as slaves unto a system each of us a number
piercing bullets flash before the eyes redemption knowing whats true

If My Life Was Upside Down

if my life was upside down
i'd bump my head against the ground

i'd trip over ceiling fans
and i'd shake feet insted of hands

i wouldnt keep any pocket change
but i would keep a blood rushed brain

every smile would be a frown
living life upside down

life upside down would be a mess
confusing your right from my left

people would say bottoms up
but if i did i would spill my cup

it sure would be funny when friends came around
they wouldn't ask whats up?
they would sarcastically ask whats down

for those of you.....who wake up in bed
in the morning when i wake,.... i wake down insted

people always tell me to keep my head up high
i look at them with resentment and walk away and sigh

pictures never seem to stay when i hang them on the wall
being upside down they always seem to fall

i always have a hard time writing what i say
and when i use my pen the ink flows the other way

its funny how people complain about how life keeps them down
but they haven't experienced living life upside down

The World Is Turning Upside Down 2020

The world is turning upside down
Covid 19 is all around
Numbers are growing without bound
Protests, killing, riots
and lots of bloody fights

The world is turning upside down
Most of the world leaders are just clowns
The best in the world pound for pound
For telling lots of lies
While the world just cries

The world is turning upside down
Who the hell is the fkn crown?
And why is she wearing such a fancy gown?
Statues are tumbling
As the crowd is are a'rumbling

The world is turning upside down
2020 will go down with a frown
Never in history to be found
Lots of people will die
No matter how much they cry

UPSIDE DOWN SNOWMAN

With a world upside down you discover
New perspectives, I feel a Wild rover
Makes my senses run free
Ah! But now need a pee
So would you mind turning me over

The Beauty In Love That Feels Like Art

When love feels upside down and falling apart
From affairs that deal directly with your heart
We tend to over think them from the very start
Stuck in your head like a pointed dart
Looking for the right answer to jumpstart
The beauty in love that feels like art
Baby with you I want us to never depart
We must prioritize this like we are so smart

Love with you always makes me feel shiny and new
Troubled waters between us make me feel sad and blue
How we lost our way I haven't any clue
I respect all that we share through and through
There is nothing in this world I would not do
To make all of our dreams come true
When we are together we are like glue

In love, we both share the same view
Honey let's find what's missing or overdue
What we see in each other is just a preview
Nothing about what we have I would undue
Love like ours we have to pursue
You know deep down inside it leads to I do's
Sharing our life is what God wants for me and you
