Lingering light dwindles among the horizon
Twilight fades with a farewell from the sun
Shadows disappear as stars sprinkle the sky
with the moon illuminating those who walk by
Woods appear so much more ominous at night
silent blackness causing an overwhelming fright
Trees are like charcoal – inky blankets all around
as nocturnal animals hunt without making a sound
Country paths seem lifeless in the eerie dark
occasionally disturbed by a guard dog’s bark
Temperatures fall with the mid winter freeze
people feel the chill with the cold air breeze
Day light sneaks in as the sun begins to rise
the moon and stars hide away in disguise
Patiently waiting for the darkness to reappear
so they can play again, when humans disappear.

Behold in pitch black the silent phantom I seek
wanders through the crevices to take a silent peek
its pallid face behind a ghostly purple veil
one must wonder if it is from this world or Hell
Icy the winds in this slow creeping winter scene
moonlight returns, with its golden glorious preen
standing aghast, my heart shutters skipping a beat
A glimpse seen of hideous claws on phantom's feet
Never shall I again this forbidden place tread
I have discovered that its creatures are all dead
Finding in Nature such horror was not my goal
Now silent terrors grip this my unblinded soul
Lo! One can not unsee such darkness and despair
As in this growing gloom, phantom flies through the air
I search for a return path to make my way home
swearing to never again onto this path roam.

Every Room

Shaking hands, legs covered in blood...
Where am I?
My vision is a blur, but I can’t unsee you.
Nothing about this feels right.

I hear your voice, again and again:
“Just take the pills, they’ll give you a thrill.”
For a moment they’ll numb my brain.
But it’s two in the morning,
The tears in my eyes and marks on my thighs
Tell me I still feel the pain.

The bedroom on Tuesday,
Your workplace on Wednesday,
The club on Thursday night.
I’m tired, exhausted -
Can’t do this much longer,
How can you think this is right?

I lie in bed,
Blade in my hand,
The tip to my skin.
Your face in my mind,
Your hands on my chest –
And now it’s under my chin.

At my door once more,
My heart picks up at the sight.
My vision blurs, but I can’t unsee you,
Back in my room? Not tonight.

Around him is a multitude
of people who appear to be
with partners, friends or family.
Excited smiles display their mood.
He drifts along, solitary.
Among that throng, a ghost is he
whose dead wife’s face he can’t unsee.
Forlornness he cannot bury.

IMPLODING REALITY

Silent scream
wildly flapping of wings unseen
around this crying head
where eyes are no more
and mouth a wide silence
where ears hear only madness
while mind is anywhere but sane
Violence throws me out of bed
every night on legs that collapse
forgotten they don't work
lugging, tug drag into
that corner
they fly around
cursing me
lashing out
insane
insane
Eyes unsee, ears unhear, mouth unscream
imploding reality

If I am insane
Why can I describe this
so vividly?

He should not have
But he did
He tried not to
But he had to

No one was looking
He thought he’d not get caught
He peeked
He looked

He saw
He wished he hadn’t
He wished he could undo
Take it back
And unsee what he saw

No one saw him
But he saw him
He knows
And now he can’t unsee
The thing he saw

Living Inside A Glass Jar

My mind is a fragile terrarium—
each breath fogs the pane with memory.
I watch myself moving inside,
an echo pacing the perimeter of pain.

Hyper-awareness hums like a live wire,
every sound—a warning, every shadow—a test.
Survival becomes the only rhythm I know,
the pulse of endurance mistaken for life.

Half alive, I measure the days by tremors,
trauma’s fingerprint pressed into thought.
They called it normal, this ache that never sleeps,
they called it growing, I call it ghosting.

My body remembers what my voice forgets,
the hypothalamus—its keeper of storms.
Neurons whisper in static and code,
translating terror into muscle, into bone.

I have stood behind this glass so long
that reflections have learned my name.
My smile, rehearsed for the living,
hides a tremble the mirror can’t unsee.

But I am tired of being the specimen,
the observer, the observed, the cage.
I want the window to open—not shatter,
to let air in without letting myself spill out.

Healing is rebellion against reflex,
choosing stillness when the body says run.
Choosing love when the mind recalls harm,
choosing now when memory insists on then.

I am learning to live behind this thick glass,
until the day I no longer need the barrier.
Until touch no longer threatens to burn,
and breath writes peace on the other mirrored side.

I Can'T Unlove You

I can't unthink about you.
I can't unfeel your love.
I can't unremember that Precious day.
I can't unknow your love.
I realize just how impossible it is, I can't unlove you!

I can't unsee your beauty.
I can't unshare your truth.
I can't unsee your creations.
I can't undo your bearing.
I realize just how impossible it is, I can't unlove you!

I can't untell you, I love you.
I can't uncount the memories.
I can't unstore Precious moments.
I can't ungo the extra mile.
I realize just how impossible it is, I can't unlove you!

I can't uncomplete your will.
I can't undo your works of Grace.
I can't unfeel your enduring mercies.
I can't unmove your gentle guiding hands.
I realize just how impossible it is, I can't unlove you!

I can't unread your Holy Word.
I can't understand everything.
I can't unbe all you deemed me to be.
I can't uncover my sins.
I realize just how impossible it is, I can't unlove you!

I can't unlove your people.
I can't unlove your church.
I can't ungive you my whole being.
I can't unsing you praise.
I realize just how impossible it is, I can't unlove you!

I can't unsee your witness.
I can't unchange my heart.
I can't unchange my ways.
I can't unlive forever.
I realize just how impossible it is, I can't unlove you!

The Grass Is Greener Through the Noose

Deep in the cave inside my heart
Is the place you'll never be
It's sealed and locked forever now
Because you threw away the key

You've stolen all my faith in life
And my ability to love
I have no big accomplishments
Or accolades to be proud of

Remember when we got ****-faced
and went to New York City?
You left your sweater in the cab
and it got really chilly

We barely caught the train back home
You fell asleep in my arms
You cuddled close and held my hand
And drew me in with your charms

But in your sleep, you called his name
I should have figured by then
But I was naive and stupid
Because I trusted you again

As much as I want to tell you
What you really did to me,
I can't because what comes to mind
Are those sights I can't unsee

And all the while you were seeing him
As our "love" continued to grow
I thought that this was all my fault
But it was YOU I didn't know

You left me for another man
Wait, that's not exactly right
It's more like I walked in on you
Betraying my trust that night.

So I'll be forced to live with this
Well, not for very long
I hope you get what you deserve
Because you were in the wrong

Nothing will matter anymore
Not once I've tightened this noose
Everything will fade into black
And I'll be free from life's abuse

Tribillary

I looked in the window and what did I see? Huma was scissoring with Hillary.

My, oh my, what some hairy thighs. These beasts were coming right before my eyes.

There titties were a handful and sagged to their knees.

For some degenerate libtards they were sure to please.

It wasn't really so, but it seemed to be. Huma was scissoring with Hillary.

I looked once again and to my disbelief, Hillary was Scissoring with Meryl Streep

I fought back the gag as Meryls tongue went deep. You just cant unsee that, I may never again sleep.

Their escapade was disgraceful as they squirted like sleeze. Their hemmoraging vaginas smelled like dirty sock cheese.

It wasn't really so but it seemed to be Hillary was scissoring with Meryl Streep.

I looked in the window and what did I see?
Rosie was scissoring with Hillary.

My oh my what gigantic thighs Hillary had vanished right before my eyes.

Rosies vagina had engulfed her and half of the sheets. Rosie left a snail trail as she walked down the street
This time it really is so, at least it seems to be,
this nightmare is over with Hillary.

I simply did not understand

It was completely out of my hand

Looking in from the outside

Eyes and mouth open wide

Never will l unsee

Etched in my mind eternally

Dangerous Meanderings

I have a game for you. “Why not!” you say.
A beer or six here, a hit or two there,
Many others play this game every day.
A few more and you'll be better than square!

A dance of wild thrills, a dance just for fun,
You can turn and walk if it gets sticky.
Dance all by yourself, dance with anyone.
In time, you don’t bother to be picky.

Don’t flatter me, I know I'm compelling;
The dream I dangle, just out of your reach.
Sniff, sniff. Whiff of putrid scent you're smelling?
Leviathan floundering on the beach.

Pale tales of restraint you have been telling.
Talk all you want, we both know it’s too late.
You’d already bought what I was selling
The first moment you nibbled on the bait.

It's just a trap now, no more scraps of cheese.
Worse to struggle in my steel sleeper hold.
You thought you could leave whenever you pleased,
Tight Chinese finger puzzle for your soul.

Maze of mirrors, the exit eludes you.
Optical illusion you can’t unsee,
Should you get out, crimson game is not through.
It will never end, my trap is in thee.

Can you feel the romance? It feels you too.
You want to touch it, relieve the tension.
One more sweet taste, what’s the worst it could do?
Sucks you back to the zero-th dimension.

Spiritual riddle, your heart breaking.
Soul-murdering beast, and yet you feed it.
A dank, bleak prison of your own making.
What was that something you knew you needed?

Tell your children to avoid me, but I’ve
The sweetest candy, shiniest balloon
I lay in patient wait for them, here’s why:
With stealth, I know they will be mine, and soon.

Premium Member Do I See You Anymore

Lately, I failed to notice
My wife had worn
A new piece of jewelry I'd bought her.
She informed me, when I asked,
Quite matter-of-factly, that I hadn't noticed
Because we no longer look at each other.
This disturbs me, implying as it does, that we're
Somehow beginning to unsee one another, like
We slowly unsee the dead, losing
Their faces in the slow snowfall of time, the turn
Of years
The drift of days.

Is she unseeing me too,
Am I growing a little more ghostly, day by day,
Sunrise to sunset?

Oh, I know the long appraising looks of youth
Are gone;
The burnished beauty of those flying days
Impossible to turn the inner eyes from.

Perhaps this is the proper way of things
Once more lies behind than ahead,
Once all the wilder dreams are
Safely laid to bed.

Easier to bid farewell to ghosts
Than to their fragile, living hosts,
For who can know what songs they sing?

But now I think, though I
Unsee you more with my outer eyes,
The more I see with the inner ones,
The visions of my memories, set beneath
Our younger Suns,
Of you - Singing to the children, dancing 'round a fire,
Of you - laughing at my puns,
Of you - beaming with desire.

There's a special one I keep
Fresh, though over 40 years ago:
I can see it in my sleep, can feel it
In the snow.
You - mocking the foolish preacher
Who'd come to the university
To rail at us for learning;
You - a vision, spinning 'round, arms flung wide,
Hair like burning copper, laughing
In reply to him:
"Do I LOOK like I'm ASHAMED to be a woman?"

And I thinking, at the time,
How nothing could be more impossible.

That one I keep close;
A golden memory of that ghost.
And though I do indeed unsee
Small matters, like the jewelry,
I know I see more with those other eyes
And hope you do the same by me.

Thousand Mile Stare

By Laura
June 17, 2015

The war has left my broken heart
But scars stay where they've always been
I wish I could forget those nights
The lonely, desperate tears within

I can't unsee those horrible things
The lies, the cries, the curdling screams
I'll never forget how it used to feel
When every nightmare was becoming real

Eye of the storm or salvation at last?
Finding the middle and calling it class
Maybe the sophists were spelling my fate
Selling wicked lies to the mass's estate

Such a sweet dream of foundation-less graves
Feeling good enough to think that, maybe Jesus saves
With everything to lose and even more to gain
Approaching this precipice with memories of pain

Sunshine starts to peak through the weary, summer clouds
Light enough to smile in spite of what they know
I'll never be the same cause I have seen too much
But I know how to show you heaven with a touch

Phosphenes

In disbelief
Phosphenes shine
All I see
Is only mine
The trails
The ghosts
The U.F.O.s
The me I am
The highs and lows
Glimpses of truth,
Wasted youth
Implausible outcomes
Photo booths
Distorted views
Slanted trees
The little sights
I can’t unsee
