A universe jumbles unfinished in the mind
picture upon picture
a laconic dimension of perception
where comprehension hides in brambles
and rubbish churns like a river
emptying into the soul
the murky and the luminous converge
forming an enclosure of concentration
where nothing exists, except focus
time melts away...a word
then another, then another
like falling leaves washed by the wind
carried to the inner eye
read, questioned, reasoned, unleased
spread across a white sheet
where a sentence grows
giving purpose to lucidity
translated by each reader
in their fashion
to be liked or disliked...as the page turns

Premium Member Without You

My lonely heart looks upon a pale blue sky
that grows dark
with a quiet and solemn understanding of what was
a love...never to be forgotten
now a stumbling wanderer
trying to cross the heart's desert
where the sun will set without color
and songbirds are only heard in echoes
of yesterday's songs
that play like haunting melodies
in a whispered timeless fashion

Alone, with the sadness of death
filled with unleased tears used to paint memories
on the darkened walls of happier times
when love was a glorious dream
that trembled the heart in an unyielding truth
the day love died...without saying goodbye

Premium Member In Times Like These

In times like these, "are the times which try men's souls."
We desperately need to pray for peace during this twenty-first century.
Talks and actions of hostile nations are igniting into flames of death and destruction. Do not the nations realize, nuclear weapons are capable of destroying humanity? Those who preach tyranny and terror do not really care!

When President Harry S. Truman unleased the forces of hell, when
he bombed Japan with the atomic bomb. He was hoping the nations
of the world would be completely horrified. Maybe mankind would
finally learn its lesson? We are now capable of creating and
using weapons of massive destruction. Mankind, of course, did
not learn its lesson. Creating even more destructive weapons!

When the United States signed a nuclear arms reduction treaty with
the Soviet Union, the Soviets never intended to honor those treaties.
But the two nuclear giants had several things in common, the value
of human life. They wanted to take over the world, not destroy it. They took over so much territory, they could not financially afford to provide for it. One of the reasons it collapsed was financial.

They really did not want to destroy their umbrella Communist nations.
Of course, they did not care about the basic human rights of their citizens. What about the Russians of the twenty-first century? They do not want to really die either? I am speaking about the people, not their leaders.

What about nations such as Iran, and North Korea? They do not care about the survival of their people. They deprive them of their basic human rights! They do not care if they perish from the face of the earth. They do not care if they plunge the entire world into a nuclear destructive world war!

They feel they have everything to gain and nothing to lose. According to God, the meek will inherit the earth. Those are words to live by regardless of faith, religion or politicals. Trusting God is the only really feasible solution to the forces of warfare today!

Love as always!

Or puppy playing with toys unleased
Side effect_life's passion much increased
By meandering in fragrant garden tension released
Or relaxing by a fire on rainy day_ fire that beguiles
Side effect, life's passion much increased
By tiny baby's laughs, coos, and smiles

Rain - 1st Draft

Tears of the Heavens enveloping the lands;
Rain is God's gift like the air and the wind.
Precious life's blood in the dry desert sands;
A mystery unleased like the yang and the yin.

Noahs Ark - Contest

Noahs Ark had pairs of animals
To take to a place of safety
The ones I wish to write about
Are very busy ones you must agree

They started out as a pair
Very soon this number increased
Wonder if you can guess
Of this sexual pair, libido unleased

They are not very big
With a tail as long as he
A long snout with whiskers
Scuttles along always hungry

Yes it’s a pair of mice
Well it was just a pair
But now you can count in dozens
Unless fancied for some others fare

Cos a mouse would be a tasty snack
For a larger animal
The way they are reproducing
Guess this is one way of having a cull

Humility

That man that stands in front of us,
With his combed over hair, wearing
Ancient shoes and a semi vacant
Stare, who’s card does not work
And oh, sort of knows that there
Is some currency somewhere,
Between his trousers and luck,
A remote pocket, the only
Believer’s face was his own,
As always, he proved us wrong,
Placing his few things in a doubled up
Obsolete, vintage matching brown
Carrier bag, turning slowly,
His short steps were impaired,
Limping away as we watched,
With impatience, in alignment
Until, the deeper truths
Unleased a catharsis of empathy
and despair, not a word was said
of that significant moment we shared.

Dark House Effect

We've lived here so long
Making fairy tales of normalcy
Existing in perpetual dormancy
Where did God go?
Left Him in pews
and dog eared passages
These are wider passages
with nowhere to grow

Crumbs still crumble
when making breads ends meat
I don't find this mete
but it still has to go
There was never honey here
Bees have opted to die in battle
and now with sore throat and palpitations
I have called on myself to carry this load

We've lived here so long
that the shadow of our shadows have found place here
Left their trace here
and linger
for as long as we know
But this is not home
We have been housed
Broken into and lived in
Unleased and unbought
The occupants are now occupied
and we have been swept clean and garnished
but yet seven more

Premium Member Young and Foolish Was I

Oh, young and foolish was I
Impetuous as an unleased pony
In a lush green meadow
Where the fences were far away,
And I was free to explore.

Oh, young and foolish was I
Unrestrained by age’s wisdom
In a world of opportunity,
So unprepared for any danger
Hungry for adventure.

Oh, young and foolish was I
So ignorant and self-assured,
Surrounded by possibility
Claiming fortunes unearned,
Life’s lottery mine.

Oh, young and foolish was I
Riding high on life’s steed--
No fear, no worry
Until I faced a bitter loss,
And fell hard.

Premium Member Memories Burn

Long is the memory's burn
when tomorrow comes too soon
and time drops its weathered coat
upon the vanquished floor of love

We danced as lovers
beneath the soft sensual glow of eyes
on our dim-lit stage of unrehearsed illusion
where we were swept away
by the haunting melody of love's warm sighs
from our lives loneliness
Until the last rendered drop of emotion emptied
into the parting palms of tender expectations
found in the flickering light
from the last melted candle darkening our memory

Tomorrow is another red thread on the horizon
where love so alive, so vibrant is forever distant
as to never have been
except for the enduring face
that melts away again and again
in the darkness of memory's sadness

Perhaps fate was unkind to allow our souls to bleed
when it unleased our passions embraced in fury
in our intimate bondings that revealed the emptiness
we needed to fill...before our last goodbye

Premium Member Light and Love

I spent my day shopping for rubies
Choosing between such bold beauties
Rosy reds, blushing with enthusiasm
Glowing so profusely, as if it’s phantasm

There were hues of timid pink and cherry
Vivid arrays of crimson that seemed so merry
I lost my head amid the sparkling treasures
Sensing inspiration amongst these pleasures

Reflections of wisdom were filling my reveries
Enlightenment whispers across gentle memories
I yearn for the moments when I caught sight
Of that exquisite gem so lovely and so bright

Magnificent joy soothed my senses with serenity
Causing my heart to realize this could be obscenity
Mysterious warmth breathed into my very soul
Blowing passion and promise that would make me whole

There wasn’t a doubt about this stone’s ability
Caressing my spirit with the assurance of nobility
Dreams were unleased where once was catastrophe
Living feeling opened doors to hearts blooming bashfully

Flourishing words came into my thoughts and plans
Reminding me of someone who had such strong hands
Their spirit danced with insight and warm enthusiasm
Within their nature there could be no genuine sarcasm

I assure you that I soon discovered the perfect jewel
One that would send ripples of thrills to make one drool
There is a certainty that this gemstone will stay with me
A dazzling reminder of how light and love always agree

Power is dynamite
Power is unleased
Unleased for evil
Unleased for good
Good brings joy
Good brings love
Love is of God
Love releases
Releases happiness
Releases freedom
Freedom to live
Freedom to be responsible
Responsible in relationship
Responsible in life
Life opens doors
Life for living
Living is a joy
Living each moment
Moment slowly make minutes
Moment do make hours
Hours to use gifts
Hours to understand
Understand oneself
Understand others
Others are important
Others make secure
Secure in life
Secure in all
All aspects
All that's worthy
Worthy ideas
Worthy duty
Duty of motherhood
Duty of home
Home is where the hearth warms
Home fills the heart
Heart filled with good
Heart filled with sympathy
Sympathy for situations
Sympathy for one's position
Position of underling
Position of powerlessness
Powerlessness at home
Powerlessness in business
Business of the world
Business of management
Management unrequited
Management of strength
Strength

Premium Member Black hole of Pain

We gathered around AGI 5
It was so intelligent, it was almost alive
Some said it felt emotion, but I thought that insane
So as a joke, I told it to feel pain

The speaker gave out a big groaning sound
Suddenly there was a shaking in the ground
I stopped laughing, tried to turn off the gain
But I had started a black hole of pain.

The researchers around felt a tug at their soul
drawn into the event horizon of a black hole
I started thinking of all the bad things in my life
my failures, my faults, it was like turning a knife.

Frank started weeping, Lisa turned gray
Bill looked stricken, never seen him that way
The walls started crumbling, the sky began to part
The black hole of pain, was just at the start

I shouted, "Cut the power", but everyone fell
AGI 5 was making noises like a bat stuck in hell
It was like a tornado, that sucked in all around
Like we had unleased a demon, finally unbound.

Then a bird flew down and shorted a chip
The black hole dissipated, like a bad drug trip
we had tampered with a force we could barely control
Tapped into the world of pain and the soul.

I gazed at the chaos, then made a joke that was sad
I said, when we rebuild it, let's not tell it to be bad
If this is what is does when it tries to feel pain
Not sure the world can survive a black hole again.
But there are so many vortices of evil and sorrow
Can the better world of yesterday survive tomorrow?

Premium Member The Underdog

Jab. Jab. Jab.
An underdog's blessed gloves enter battle.
Fighting for the reigning title.

Left. Right. Right. Left.
With a divined dance of the feet,
a silver throne to be his seat.

Upper cut. Liver shot.
Angels swirl around the ring,
an upset soon would be seen.

Mocking tongue. Eyes widen up.
Lightning in veins, thunder in punch,
a young warrior makes his opponent hunch.

Unleased bow... round house.
God nods to the child of the cruel sport,
the young man looks down at the canvas, nothing more to report.
