I found my tartan Thermos flask,
not used it for some time,
the faded squares still visible
beneath a film of grime.
A bit or rust around the base,
the side a dent or two,
the top that doubles for a cup
has split, so that won't do.

Premium Member Humid Thermos
I see us
cowering within
our safety walls
of sterile
nonorganic comfort

I feel us,
almost smell us,
struggling
vacillating between pungent stink
of fear inside
and acrid
acidic anger
about life sucks outside

Emerging toward viral hate
directed against entitled Others
unwelcomed emoting immigrants
encroaching on our safe home space

It was those Others 
who hired friendly corporate attorneys
and management vested...

Somewhere over Thames River
condo fees fly high,
So do taxes
and maintenance expenses,
My
Oh my
Oh why?

We chose to co-invest
in this former industrial mess,
I must confess
I don't know why
except our windows
reach for the sky...

Somewhere over Thames River
birds still fly high
so do beauty
and fiscal duty,
So why then
oh why can't we?
