Best Team Player Poems

My Hero

He feared not his death,
because he came to know well,
Him who gave us all life’s breath.
He worked at his goal,
taking life’s problems in stride,
Humility was in him.

I remember him
smiling, laughing and patient,
as generous as could be,
adoring his wife,
happy for her attention,
Respectful of his children.

I was glad to be,
a part of that family,
even though for a short time.
I was too young then
to understand what Love is.
He showed me, I’m glad to say.

A real team player,
encouraging and docile,
Bedtime found him on his knees.
Joe knew his business,
and set reachable short goals,
His long range goal was heaven.

This tribute to my good friend Joe T. is my first of this Sedoka poem form which is
Japanese in origin. Six line stanzas 577577. Each stanza is called a Katauta.
I found it easy to communicate the desired message with this form.

It doesn’t
come natural
to me
I wish it did
I wish I were
but
a team player
I’m not
never learned
wish I did
wish I had
I prefer
to do it all
on my own
I wish I didn't
but always will

Premium Member The Football Manager

Translating ideas through energetic muscles
and calculative minds
is his doing
knowledgeable tricks and wise options
converted to the physical for the honour and glory
is his aim.

The one at the top of the chain
possesses his own repertoire.
A personality with tactical onus
is the one and only expectation.
Catastrophic it is;
when such a charisma is tempered with

An effective philosophy gives him fame
but ambiguity in strategy wins the point
a winning atmosphere brings out his etiquette
a loss- he treats so diabolical.

Every attack is a litmus test
mental kunfu blended naturally
with physical dynamism in display
closing down angles, tight markings
speed injection, courage cultivation,
identity-showing formations with opponent-neutralizing weapons,
massive onslaught, defensive solidity and quick counters
all for a harvest of victory
coming from the equations of his thoughts
watered by distinctive motivational skills.
A team player who's always outside the line
The football Manager is he!

Premium Member You'Re My Hero

It may seem unlikely
but it's true
You're My Hero!
You possess all the qualities
that I admire
You reveal strengths
that are unimaginable, improbable
You live your life
with ease and confidence,
never a negative
word for anyone
You are young in years,
brilliant in wisdom
maintain faith in humanity
a great sense of humor
athletic and serene
a real team player
I secretly worship you,
keep it to myself
with confidence and glee.

Some Angels........... Don'T Have Wings!!!!!!

Have you ever taken time to notice and implore,
that in the world around us there's so much more.
When life seems to rear an ugly circumstantial set,
there are some among us
that remind us not to fret.

They seem to always know what it is to be said,
assurance that better days lie ahead.

Providing a gentle touch to a chin,
of a face that's held low,
casting a gentle smile,
re-igniting a flame,
within a washed out soul!!!

Friend don't you know.

Some ANGELS
don't have wings!!!!

Yet.

They go on doing what they do......
miraculous things.

They carry many titles,
names in which they go by.

Teacher,
Preacher,
Team Player,
COACH!!!!!

Grandma,
MOMS,
POPS,
Grandad,
Sister,
Brother,
Cousin,
all sorts.

Instilling lessons taught
and lessons learned,
dreams cultivated,
and hopes
revitalized
to those of us,
distraught.

I tell you this because I've come to know.

Some ANGELS,
Don't have wings!!!!

Yet they go on doing what they do
phenomenal things.

They seems to spring into action,
without a whimper or a glare
never departing,
with us all the way,
breath by breath
step by step.

Then comes that faithful day,
the one that we never seem to forget,
You know the one when sweet trumpets play,
never to relent.
A sweet, sweet melody
which he or she can only hear.
"Come on Home ", the creator, would say,
I've reserved for you a special pair.

"Welcome Home "
here is your eternal place, up here
among the saints, my dear!

Cliche Heaven

Cliche Heaven

Be it as it may I'll try my hand at some clichés
and address the elephant in the room soon when pigs fly.
It’s a win- win situation, put your game face on, work the crowd
as we wrap our heads around comparing apples to orange.
We are all data driven, with an ace in the hole, stick a sock in it
while stepping up to the plate and peeling back the onion
and easily hit it out of the ballpark with a world of hurt.

Be my team player, run with this, my agent of change
but don’t throw me under the bus as you think outside the box.
We can touch base later seeing where the rubber meets the road
and put boots on the ground, a perfect storm, deal with it.
Here’s my two cents, if it works I'll go off the beaten path
driving route 66 on the road not taken when it’s up for grabs,
and taking a walk in the sun, learning the new math.

That said, don’t put me out to pasture, wait for it,
there’s no sign of my slowing down, its going viral.
These are the signs of the times, take the bull by its horns,
It’s a brave new tomorrow and all bets are off.
Don’t force my hand to be up close and personal
I’m a rebel without a cause and to die for.
Don’t get bent out of shape raising the bar in the winds of change
There’s something for everyone, just another babe in the woods.

Stay tuned, like, duh, as a matter of fact, at the end of the day,
it’s a last ditch effort as you live and learn the luck of the draw.
Pay it forward, that’s the ticket, give and take, get a wake up call,
same song and dance, say what you will, you’re as sharp as a tack.
It’s all smoke and mirrors, just splitting hairs to reinvent the wheel
and walk the red carpet for a quick buck to pay as you go
 Heaven help us,
I believe there's an app for that.

Sister With a Sword

I’m a sister who loves the Lord.
I’m a sister who’s a team player
Who desires to serve the kingdom,
Of God. I’m a sister who desires,
To be more like Jesus.
I’m a sister who knows the power,
Of prayer. I’m a sister who understands
That knowing and applying the Word,
Of God gives His children a protective
Layer. I’m a sister who detests Satan.
I’m a sister who knows that as a child
Of the king. I have authority over him.
No matter how hard the fight seems God
Will intervene and win. I’m a sister who
Loves the Lord. I’m a sister with a sword.

Sanctified lady,
Intensified lady,
Sweet lady a dear,
Treasure of the Father who has,
Energy who to really,
Run on faithfully,

With His help and other kingdom,
Inhabitants in order to increase,
The kingdom of God for,
His glory only for no absolute outside show to this world.

An astute lady, a

Sister
Who loves the Lord and
Opposes all of the
Roles that the
Devil plays.

Ceasar Salad

People think plants are not violent
This is where I will tend to disagree
Have you ever seen a vine strangle a tree?
What about when a fly is devoured by the Venus?
When the weeds clog the yard with such immensity that drains every nearby plant?

Sure you have
Therefore you have witnessed the hard-wired DNA principle
To survive
Regardless of species
The predation and the prey
All within the concept that.....

Celery somehow made it to dominance in a seemingly peaceful fashion
Yet deceptively, as stoic as this ... Celery... seems
It most certainly practices a turgid diplomacy of violence
Showing its importance as
An invaluable part of classic broth
A team player in regards to fiber
And
Let's never forget the partnership with peanut butter

So it began
Celery was allowed into the favored gardens of the chosen vegetables
Walled away from the thorny, thick monstrosities that grew unattended
On the other side of the gate
Shedding their pollen without the slightest of apologies
But none of this was a concern for Celery
As Celery grew strong, robust and prolific
Soon it was apparent Celery had larger dreams than walled-off gardens
It was time for world domination
It was time to run the competitors unto the topsoil

Celery's surrounding mother roots went deep and everywhere within the soil
This unquenchable thirst caused
Many neighboring plants to become so stifled
A massive plant exodus occurred
Creating even more harsh turf conditions
This was compounded with the
Many casualties from plant-like warfare
Yet, one may ask
Did Celery show mercy and a vegetative state upon its face
No (and yes)
The roots took over and drained the essence from every beet, scallion and basil
In proximity
While simultaneously and
Ravenously soaking in every bit of energy needed for
Survival
Even at the cost of Celery's family and friends

So
Given this veracious tale
Do you still believe plants are not violent?

Good Deeds Go Unnoticed

Why do others just remember
The bad things you do forever
One or two mistakes and you
Hear of them your lifetime through
But the good things you've accomplished
Seem to disappear and vanish
Without a trace of "good job"
Helping others is so hard
When you want to do what's right
But darkness covers up the light
Every time mistakes occur
Deeds of goodness are a blur
No thank you's for what you've done
Your kindness just goes undone
As your yelled at more and more
Your good faith walks out the door
Knocking to get right back in
When others need you once again
This roller coasters up and down
What is going to be found
Sweet voices to recognize
The times you have always tried
To help and be a team player
Or a mean voice that will slay ya
With harsh words that condenscend
When will this ride ever end
It's always a daily battle
Your nerves start to shake and rattle
With so much anticipation
Good times or bad aggravation
Will you be right on the top
Or take a fast and deep drop
To the bottom where you'll stay
Until you start to climb your way
Back out with one more good day
Where you want to always stay

Premium Member What Next

The height of science and the width of commerce
in my dwelling place they merge
with the ambassadors of understanding
giving me their pledge.
Capturing the seat of the wise
and sitting over it,
covering its edge
as I wear the garment of knowledge.
So what's next?

My hands are filled with gold
My pockets, heavy with silver
these make me the Diamond myths
and the greatest team player
to financial strength.
I've been owned and followed
and my shadow, replaced with good health
as I'm possessed and romanced
by wealth.
So what's next?

Occurrences and happenings, I'm the doer
Planting the seed of what's to happen next,
like a sower
with all authorities and rulership
placed lower
is the extent of my unbelievable power.
so what's next?

Acquiring all possible knowledge
accumulating unbelievable possessions
and becoming the greatest principality
the world has ever known
without positively touching a life
and making a soul smile
is going through a clothing store naked
and coming out naked
with everything in the world just strings.
So what's next?
DEATH!

Leaving behind all the attachments
as they drop in command of hades
vanity upon vanity;
all is vanity.

Cash makes the world go round, spin
Don't I look like money, that's my twin
Gettin' money, like it's going out of style
I keep throwing it up, like it's bile
Got cash all over me, like it's a rash
You better chase that paper, stack that cash

Punchline, watch out for the blow

This ain't deer season, but I got a lot of doe

I don't play sports, but somehow manage to ball

You pissed, hurry, go to the bathroom stall

You're mad, 'cause your chick's jumping on my pogo-stick?

If this was the NFL draft, she'd be my first pick

I gave her my two-sense, she brought a quarter back

Team player, certified hustler, put her name on a plaque

You're like an old car, broke, need a tune-up

Chasing paper all day, even when the moon's up

Started in the basement, took it to the attic

Bottom to top, having all this cash is problematic

Get my strap, solve problems, trigonometry

A lil' bit of paranoia, nothing's wrong with me

Oxymoron, dirty money got me looking clean

Step in the scene, record-breaker by all mean

God's Life Lesson (Holy War)

God's life lesson
found in his reflection
that he created in his image
was to learn never to discard or disregard the importance
or love he had for any of his creation
but to improve on them in every way
the meaning of life
love
fate
time
destiny
mankind
and life itself

He did this to surprise himself
and enjoy humbling himself for his creations
a planet and a heaven that does so for him

Living an everlasting life
where that he was the first to live
and the last to die
This lesson had to be learned prior to allowing his creations
to be by his side in eternal life

The meaning of life
and the angel of death
helped him learn what he needed to discover
to become flawless at this

The meaning of life
surrendered to a task of living a lie
becoming a false prophet whom would eventually sort this out
ask god for forgiveness
for being carried away in his selfrighteous lies and denial
of being loved by his creator
being a non believer of his maker
who had created something god placed above himself
god chose to forget himself
so this life lesson would be easier for him to realise

Thus god was inevitably going to be succesful
in this demonstation of forgiveness upon his creations and himself
to understand his new awareness
of a plan that he had for himself
to achieve a higher experience of eternal love

The meaning of life living a lie
to keep the everyone in blissful ignorance
of god's temporary weakness
and that was when the angel of death took part in helping god learn
by making the meaning of life's lie an unpleasant experience for everyone

The meaning of life then humbled himself
to the realisation
by being recognised as a team player a part of god's divine plan
by this truth recognised he would be healed
and the fact of who he did it for
god would know it was his brother's turn
to be released from the chains
of taking upon the metaphor or personification of murder
whom life itself was metaphorically married to

god's life lesson to learn from himself
his love and his creations to achieve the biggest miracle of love
one that would be never ending just continually improved on
as suggested by father time

Better Skip Breakfast

Sweet morning sunshine --
Damn you how I
despise this labor
that lies ahead.

The cousin of Grizzly Adams’
patiently waits with the
ancient white pickup truck
he ran me over with while I slept.

Off we go with the toolbox
dancing in the bed and it’s a band
of pots and pans, the opening act for
our weapons of mass construction.

Murph says he’s a team player,
although I don’t recall a sport
 consisted of getting wasted
and having shameful sex.

He grumbles and curses about
the day ahead hung-over with
his perfume from the distillery and
gum he must’ve marinated in an ashtray.

We better do some stretching
before the circus begins—
watch me as I carry an elephant
up the twenty year old ladder.

From two stories above I witness
the war forming between
old rusty nails and the tiny,
soft green blades that stand no match.

The ground has become a grave
of tetanus but the old umbrellas
we toss down from the house
cover up the battlefield.

Premium Member Walk-Off Home Run

Ever since the game of baseball had begun,
nothing excites the fans like a walk-off home run.
In the ninth inning with a tie score,
hit a home run and you don’t have to play anymore.
Perhaps the bullpen did not save the game.
Having a tie score after the ninth is a shame.
This is a common thing that is hardly a quirk.
Extra innings to play means additional work.
If a home team player homers for the local crowd,
the fans with elation will cheer quite loud.
Inning after inning without runs brings frustration.
However, the home team scoring brings jubilation.
To be the team’s latest hero
is the greatest joy any player will ever know.
