Premium Member Vicious Haunts of the Dead

Ghastly sights on the day of the dead frighten me,
Zombie ghouls from the grave will arise from afar
With a howl and a scream sodden ghost running free
Come the fear of dying ‘neath the moon and the star.
On a cold October autumn night keeping watch,
Lest the hand of the witch grab my leg, drag me down
From the rags of my shirt, a demon takes a swatch
I do fear nasty grins of the mime-painted clown.
Vicious haunts of the dead still doth lurk in shadows
Like the pall of one corpse from the hole ever near,
The poor soul freely hangs from old wooden gallows
While I flee like a thief in the night out of fear.
From the depth of my grief here on earth, you hear it,
The deep sighs of my past are still here in spirit.

Glowing Forever

Glowing Forever

As simple as bringing a flame to a candle
I now hold the match ever tight in my hand
Striking the swatch in an emery fashion
Watching the flame as it takes its command

Flickering fond as the room was once darkened
Sending a glow to the ceiling so white
Cautions now bear of the heat it is yielding
You are the candle that lights up my life

Fill me with warmth that your flame it is bringing
Illumine my ways as I feel the embrace
Blow me a kiss in a gleaming direction
Luminous scenes every moment we trace

Softly my breeze finds your flame ever moving
Captured the visions as now it does dance
Residue forms at the base of affection
You are the light of this perfect romance

Burn evermore as my heart beat is singing
Take of this man every need and desire
See as my shadow moves closer to hold you
Together we find the most passionate fire

Light of my dreams oh I so long to feel you
Tapering slightly in spite of the spark
Melting eternal of love's light a' flicker
Glowing forever inside of my heart

Premium Member Garish Should Be

Garish should be the undertone
so say the ones who hold the line
desiring only that mutes explain
the breadth of life beyond the pale

until the souls who dare to dream
demand expression beyond the veil
with vibrancy of color’s swatch
and actions stated to justly shock

these statements exclaimed without regard
for sensibilities in fashion’s realm
instead the giants are thrown down
by admiration of damning jests

extracting praise for substitutes
the flagrant over the sadly tamed
a mystery that gods disdain
while beauty fills the latitudes.

Premium Member The Wind

The wind
comes in at night,
bringing with it new ghosts
but I'm wrapped tight in mother's quilt,
each painstaken swatch stitched by her own hand
She sings a breathy lullabye
and rocks me to sleep in
the cradle of
the wind

Scruffy Bear

I sit and watch you everyday
From a bookshelf where I will stay
Not quite like new, patched with a swatch
You everyday, I sit and watch

You used to hold me so much more
When I was softer, not yet tore
I'll wait right here for you to see
So much more, you used to hold me

Once a loved one, now a keepsake
Loyal love does a true friend make
I hope no more yarns come unspun
Now a keepsake, once a loved one

I'm always here to watch you grow
If you need me, in high or low
Don't forget me, I'm always near
To watch you grow, im always here

The Trails of Sanity

Why do I care if the disturber carries on
Why is it I cannot just wait it out, bide my time
Be more mindful, try and bond
Embrace what I don’t understand
Welcome the scorching taste in my mouth
I wait, I watch, and watch and wait
what seems a millennium
The afterglow of embers still burn
Just sit tight…
The day ends with a tug on the swatch
of the backpack, I doff it off my shoulders
I hear the trifles start up once more behind me
As my eyes wander upwards
As the Rigel star taps into my soul
As I surrender inward, a whispering voice
cues consolingly…
Here you are
Mind at ease

A Peculiar Sight

It was, perhaps, the perfect place to watch
the storm roll into the eastern boundaries.
Too far inland to be submerged, the swatch
of land was close enough for the fierce breeze.
Come night, the sky had already darkened
to black, hours before, and bright flashes
illuminated the landscape. Pretend
Lightening, there was no sound of crashes.
Cracks of limbs were muted by sheer whistles,
feral screams that echoed between buildings.
Inside, some TVs scrolled school dismissals
as more reflected candlelight bearings.
I observed the hurricane in delight;
honored to witness a peculiar sight.

Visual Melodies

Visual Melodies

Fresh evergreens stand beside

A crisply clear slow moving brook

Reflections of minnows glitter

In the midday sun’s warm look

Bare branches began to don

The tiny green leaves of spring

Nature’s ring of promise encircles

The earth with an array of floral bling

Exquisite beauty peeks through

 The smallest opening of vision

Rainbow colors expose themselves

Inside sky born hues made with precision

A willow tree has greened and

Tips to weep into the brook

Providing a sultry place for the

Mallards to create a safe nook

All eyes have rested upon a scene

A four by four swatch of land

Possessing a great beauty from the

Multi colored seas to its albacore sands

People are gardens of luscious fruits

Solely crafted by the master’s hand of grace

Like precious oil sticks of incense whose aromas

Rise, as Heavens Holy fire ignites our spiritual space

Burn Bright

With His light

Daydreams From the Butcher Block

Daydreams from the butcher block:

Cannibalistic tendencies require cannibalistic standards. I don't want a fast food consumer. No Sir, no soda pop fed meat for me. If you're unhappy, that's tainted meat. I want me a happy vegan. Alas, they are a lot faster and smarter than your average T.V. watching livestock. Setting my snare at the whole foods. Sledgehammer against your skull in the Payless parking lot. Surgical steel ripping through yoga pants. Bolt cutters nipping off your swatch. You might have opinions in your spin class, but in my van your screams are muffled.

Premium Member The Die Is Cast

hard to remember an image as precious as this offering
the gods must have been in jubilant spirits
jagged edges through out this ocean~view
the aqua blue splattered in coral a first for this salty dog

a long hard swatch of baby pink draws out the young boy
use to skip carefully procured flat stones
across the curls of this mighty waterway
my mistress calls -time to prepare for one more adventure

ride the ocean
the die is cast

Red and Gray

Skipping down the walk on a sunless, foggy day;
a bright red coat surrounded in shades if gray.

In a smoldering mass grave, on a sad and shameful day;
a swatch if bright red coat, surrounded in ashes if gray.

Jane ordered ice cream topped with butterscotch
It melted and dripped onto her Swatch-watch
Though a hundred degrees
She still giggled with ease
when she felt a chill running down her crotch
