Damaged Goods

Damaged Goods

In summer sun’s sagacious rays
A butterfly with ragged wings
Settled on the sidewalk
In search of food or rest or other things
Slow, strolling steps brought me to her side that day

Her wings were slowly yawning to and fro
I saw the ragged edges marred
A predator had tried to take her life
She got away but bore the scar
Now she flies erratically, and slow

But ah, her colors shimmered so!
Blue purer than the air
In the sun, sparkled like a million atom stars
Yellow so shy it was hardly there
Emerald splashed like strokes by Michelangelo

They froze my gait
And captured my eyes
‘til I was lost in a universe
of delicate size
and majestic fate

I held my breath
My throat grew tight
I fell in love
With the spirits’ fight
To live beyond its brush with death

Feelings tumbled from my breast
If I could only paste a part of my soul
On her wing to repair its ragged loss
I gladly would, to make her whole
Who more than measure, she had blest

But hope and want rarely comply
With harsh reality
Or the step of time.
Nor can beauty cure insanity
Or heart enfold a butterfly

So I stood entranced by her beauty there
And caught the spirit of her bravery
Though torn and damaged goods
She was the loveliest butterfly I shall ever see
Her injury made her only all the more fair

She could not have known how much I cared
We both were bound by destiny
The moment passed as moments do
And then she flew away from me
Fluttering and stumbling through the air

The Beauty of This Land

The misty soft mornings of home
Sun shining on the pink- grey dome
The call of the small sparrow
Dew drops on the fresh green furrow
Sweet smell of the red blooming rose
The path through the forest goes
The beauty of this land
The beauty of this land

The rising sun throws golden beams
The meadow like a necklace seems
Dew drops shining like diamonds
Attached to pretty long flowery strands
The sparkling water in the brook
Trees loaded with ripe fruits shook
The beauty of this land
The beauty of this land

Little white rabbits come out to play
The ponies in their pastures bray
The shrill call of the peacock
And the tick-tock of the square clock
Little feet running to far off school
The dog splashing in the pool
The beauty of this land
The beauty of this land

Mother Nature's Mistake

Mother Nature’s Mistake

Hills that go on for miles
Pines, oaks and maples reach for the sky
Their leaves casting a cooling shade on a hot summer day
Animals of all kinds dance in the gentle breeze
Flowers fill in the green blanket of meadow grass
Added beauty from a gracious Mother Nature
You sit among this beauty
Glowing in the late evening’s golden sun
Mother Nature watches as her work fades
She sees you and knows that she cannot match your beauty
So she created the night to try and hide you
But your beauty cannot be hidden
You were made to be beautiful
That was Mother Nature’s one mistake
She created one being more beautiful than anything she could create
And for that she should be praised
And thanked for giving you to the world

The Sun Is Shining Brightly.

when the sun is about to rise above, one can see and admire the beauty of the light coming
out the sun which is like gold colour which is covered all whoever it comes on. all the
birds meet on the trees nearby singing with perfect cordination with each other, saluting
the sun, one can also feel the heat of the sun on those who shining on them. some
passerbys drinking water to quinch their thirst because the heat is going very high as soon
the sun goes up little by little, and when the sun goes down in the evening, one can feel
the light heat and the light that seems to be very golden yellowish on the fields and where it
passes leaving a spectular beauty looking at it, by going up little by little till it vanishes behind the sea for good

Her seed is tossed into the wind
Whirled from palms of nature's hand
By helter skelter randomness
The green and brown become a bliss
Scattered poppies across the land
Like butterflies, their beauty graces
The hills, valleys, and roadside places
A world comes alive with a golden glow
Like polished gems, where weeds would grow
Those scattered seeds will multiply
Take root, add warmth under summer skies
The beauty of her heart of gold
Will bloom with orange, so bright and bold
In winter storm a sleep begins
Until the thaw, when rains begin
A state is proud to bear her bloom
Her beauty never comes too soon

Walk Along the Riverside

As we walk along the riverside
A sound of the innocences of melody
The waters that sing to the naked ear
The colour of finest crystal sparkles to the eye
Stepping stones like a puzzle to cross the waters path
Its beauty reflected against the surrounding sky
Nature's truth does not lie its simplest desired to all admire
Its standing soldiers of wood around the scene
Like a border of a frame the picture is painted to any naked eye
With branches like arms they are embracing your mind
Each breeze sweeps past the leaves like the last dance
United as they tango in delight against the coming night
The whisper of your imagination as the stars shine
The guide of the moon as it now becomes defined
The scene is mothers earth its magical trance binds you
A freedom crosses your spirit your soul is at one
Your thoughts can not be undone
A enchanted mind has been restored as you opened the door to completeness
A secret world of beauty of all divine sights even in the darkest of night
As we walk along the riverside...

~The beauty of the flesh, the exotic Moluccas dream
the source of excellence, in the clash
the lust of the eyes, the flesh, and pride of life
peace of angel wings be in love’s reflection
the glory of vanity in strands of auburn hair.

~Grace of femininity in Victoria’s form
light rays reveal, her mind gazes with pulsating intent
as waters of life’s reflections teem vibrant
the silence of eloquence stored in the center of stillness.

~Multi colors pulsating with energetic heavenly bliss
as time immemorial immersed as liquid form instills
sweet smells of fragrant blooms mix with soft white light
births nature’s finest reflection, it's illusions in water
of the reality of the forms of love dimensions above.

~For what of the beauty of this female’s dream
but powered directions of godly cosmic thought
thus channeled potential into forms of beauty
as dimensions appeared for young maiden’s inspection.

~Intelligent life inspects and enjoys the beauty fashioned
for beauty’s enjoyment in Victoria’s dream contemplate
the graceful beauty of feminine flesh blends into nature of love’s kiss.

The Muse

When with my wife and son, I first gazed down
At the beauty of Derwentwater in Keswick town
I was moved to awe, admiration and sheer reverence
For I was graced with beauty of such immense presence.

Such scenery, hitherto, I had only vicariously seen
On the artist’s canvas and the cinema screen
And of the awe, it could, in us mortals inspire
I had read of in many a poet’s quire.

No matter the angle, position or perspective
This was natural beauty, a landscape most emotive
Of verdant islands in a lake shimmering in the sun
And of shades of green, that did, to the horizon run.

Of majestic mountains masked by slivers of mist
And swans whose necks did gracefully twist
To the sounds and chirps that filled the air
As I simply continued to “stand and stare”

At flecks of white scattered all across the dale
Content to, in such beauty, ruminate and regale
As the sun shone down and the wind rapaciously blew
At the stream of tourists that steadily grew

Yes, this was nature in its grandeur and pomp
Through which man could at his leisure romp
And take in this theatre of such verdant green
That has for more than centuries been

An inspiration for “emotions oft recollected in tranquillity”
The muse for a simple and rustic school of poetry.

The End of the Ocean

What’s at the end of the ocean,
past where the waves come in.
The water goes on forever,
I wonder if there’s an end.
The day that it was all created,
must have been an awesome one.
To see all the water as it was laid out,
as the waves came crashing in.
I’m in awe each time I walk on the beach,
when I look at the ocean as it goes on and on,
and watch the waves crashing upon the shore.
with such force yet beauty inside
I wonder each time what it was like that day,
and if God was in awe at the beauty he created.

Premium Member Humming Bird Moths At Moon Rise

Luna flower spread open scented blossom
In response to the full moon's soft yellow glow
So much designed like a Sand Dollar
Amazing the resemblence even with first sight

Humming Bird Moths drawn to the glowing white
The irresistable beauty and appealing scent
Ten were buzzing, humming drinking nectar
From white beauty by only moonlight

Ants were working even at night
Drawn to the goodness that will leave at dawn
Preparing a storehouse of goodness for winter
So that the species can survive to rule summer picnics

That scented sticky nectar must be delicious
Tasting like a very rich clover honey
So sweet that just a tiny amount sweetens
So many slices of simple bread

Amazing the blessings to enjoy from simplicity
The simplest things in life sometimes give goodness
That wealth can't provide
Sometimes wealth has gardens but not enjoyed

Is She the One...

As I watch her rhythmic movements, her beauty entrances me,
Never have I seen such magnificence, she’s as perfect as she can be;

When I saw her for the first time, she stopped me in my tracks,
And in her exquisitely flawless nature, I can see nothing that she lacks;

I have looked her up and down, she is irresistible in my eyes,
For all the other hopefuls out there, it’s time to say your goodbyes;

Her faultlessly cadenced beat, sends shivers up my spine,
And I can hardly wait for the day, when I can call her mine;

Is she the one for me, I know she is without a doubt,
And spending my time with her is what my life is all about;

She is charming and bewitching in every single way,
Her skin tone is amazing, the perfect dappled gray;

That’s right my perfect love is an Andalusian Mare,
And her everlasting beauty is beyond all compare!

Visual Melodies

Fresh evergreens stand beside
A crisply clear slow moving brook
Reflections of minnows glitter
In the midday sun’s warm look

Bare branches began to don
The tiny green leaves of spring
Nature’s ring of promise encircles
The earth with an array of floral bling

Exquisite beauty peeks through
The smallest opening of vision
Rainbow colors expose themselves
As sky born hues made with precision

A willow tree has greened and
Tips to weep into the brook
Providing a sultry place for the
Mallards to create a safe nook

All eyes have rested upon a scene
A four by four swatch of land
Possessing a great beauty from the
Multi colored seas to its albacore sands

People are gardens of luscious fruits
Solely crafted by the master’s hand of grace
Like precious oil sticks of incense whose aromas
Rise, as Heavens Holy fire ignites our inner space

Burn Bright
With His light

Ode To the Blue Mountains

Katoomba, a wild sound, an ancient name.
With it, a sense of awe silently came.
I only saw part of you
But still I was amazed, all the way through.
What would I do
Where would I be
If I had seen you
At the full, staggering height
Of your beauty?
Your beauty is like no other sight.
Beauty that only nature could have created
That no other wonders could possibly be equated.
Beauty
To be feared.
You call to those who hear
Who believe in folklore and fairy land
Those who understand.
Foolish men think they can explain it all
But I saw you with your giant sandstone walls.
I saw you without the aggressiveness that comes with volcanoes
I saw you as your diamond streams flow.
I saw your cliffs, your plateaus.
I saw your lush canopy of trees,
I saw your peaceful, yet mysterious quality.
I saw you as you spread the faint, misty haze,
Like a sea of blue waves.
You are the mountains of a thousand faces
I can look at you in a thousand different ways.
Your blue, strange hue is never of the same shade
It changes every moment, every day.
Your beauty is like a dart
With one graceful shot, you hit my heart.

The Beauty In Nature.

Beauty, very pleasant and fascinating
Nature, the evidence of beauty and alluring
Two creations rarely found together
The most blessed experience would be to
find these two merge together into one.

Beauty goes beyond the outward looks
Nature, beyond watching the trees and the ocean
Two definitions that are rarely defined
The greatest puzzle that is certain to make
mankind happy if and when solved.

Beauty, the inner assurance of satisfaction
Nature, the unheard voice of peace
Two confidants that we seem to
always neglect and forgo for uncertainty
Whereas, they just wish we acknowledge them.

Until you are able to harness together,
The beauty in nature; the naturality in beauty
You would not be able to appreciate either
...Beauty or Nature.

Autumn Night

the river seemed to wind forever amongst the golden trees
the sunshine made a lazy day amid the autumn breeze
the green of mountains up above cascading streams below
thats how the autumns used to be on nights so long ago

there was such beauty in the land with blue grey skies above
you could here waters buff the sand and robins sing of love
i heard a whipperwill cry low a dove sent back the call
a bluejay perched upon a bough i thought he would surely fall

down by the river where i would go to spend some time at night
i would watch the twinkling of a star till it went out of sight
so much to view at setting sun a beauty to behold
the silence of an autumn night back in the days of old
