It is a secret
You’re afraid to reveal
Too much of your heart
You’re afraid, so you conceal
The real you, the real truth
The hues of hope and faith
The sweetness of such grace

It is a worry
You’re too aware of
A darkness that hurries
To dim your sparkle, to dissuade
Your kindness, your blazing
Spirit, your warmth and sincerity
The feelings that make you believe
In the brilliance of a light…
That pours out over the blackest night

It is a doubt
You’re ashamed to speak of
A discouragement, a dread – clouding
Out all the good, the amazement,
The wonders that assure the soul
There is a joy that grows and grows,
A miracle so abundant it consoles,
Phenomenal love, compassion so perfect

It is a lonely ache
Surviving the hopes in your heart,
Isolation from the whisper of grace,
Seclusion from the chance
To reach out to someone with faith,
Smile through the burning of a past
Where you didn’t know kindness or the
Meaning of relationship – fulfillment

It is a detested place
Where there is no honesty or thanks
Where light never makes its way
Through the desperation, the grief, the despair
That seems to penetrate each inspiration
With seeds of distrust and reservations,
Suspicions that keep you from the answers,
The trust that stirs your heart to assurance

It is there, in the shadows
Where hearts are broken and spirits
Are destroyed by the sorrow and pain,
The endless feelings of loss and disgrace
The abundance of miseries and mysteries
Who make life feel like a horror tale
Instead of the promising narration of inspirations…

The poetry of a life who is guided
By the hand of One who knows
The heart is made up of more than one
Poem, more than one tale, more than one
Verse that leads to the conclusion, the victory
Comes in believing that the ending, the finish line
Will bring a reassurance, a confidence, more penetrating than the
Past could possibly destroy with its uncertainty and malice!

The poetry of a life – is created by
Listening to His love – His light
Breathing softly, gentling…
All the dark shadows and strife
And - FEAR is the final sacrifice!

Into the woods the three did wander
Graceful teenage girls carefree
I had great cause to ponder
Surely someone held the key
When they were never seen again
Suspecting things grimly gone awry
What evils lurks what evil men
Might dare beneath God’s watchful eye

Suspicion

Long ago, in a tiny Kingdom,
in some far-distant land,
lived four hundred sub-servient people,
whose ruler was "The Shan"!

He had a real bad temper,
and was subject to take fits!
So the people sorta walked on eggs,
and had to keep their wits.

Things were good for quite awhile,
no fits, and it was great!
Then one day, that all changed,
which led to a perilous fate!

It's unclear what really happened,
but things got real intense!
The Shan had his worse fit ever,
and the people had no defense!

There was only one survivor,
a very lucky man!
But, I have to ask, where was this guy,
when "the Fit hit the Shan?

Catalyst
Speeds up a chemical reaction
While defence, suspicion, defiency and greed
Of dictatorship
Speeds up an outburst for war
Between man and man
Country and country
There are many reasons to start a war
But there is only one reason
To prevent
To halt
And to stop it
And that reason is simply called
Peace-loving

Suspicion

Suspicion is a friend of mean souls,
Jealousy, inferiorities, are its pals.
It always makes you a back biter,
Back talks are baseless, and bitter.

Suspicion is very often unjust than just,
It is far more to be wrong than right.
It is great enemy of virtue and Happiness,
And the bane of all society and goodness.

Suspicion reveals the character of its holder,
When words proved untrue he becomes a liar.
Suspicious minds imagine beyond words,
And brings out words sharper than swords.

Silenced voices for millennia traverse upon repressed pivotal moments
Deplorable vow of secrecy resonates amid impregnable embattlements
Ancient nomads above burning desert sense overwhelming compassion
Thirst quenched with essential nutrients rejuvenates tenets of past eon

Primal fear of cosmic unknowns planet in isolation impose concealment
Incessantly radiating interstellar illumination awaken fireflies iridescent
Enigmatic passageway to astounding revelation shrouded in symbolism
Sweep ambiguities away strengthening indefatigable spiritual optimism

Premium Member The Butler Did It

Suspicion always finds the poor butler.
This time, he was carrying a large box.
I think I saw her fingers--if not her
perhaps it was her sister's golden locks.

People say that she slapped his lovely face.
Not one to pass stories loosely, mind you,
but a grain of truth may favor this case:
She loved him, but I hear, he wasn't true.

I've only heard these things, and, yet it's true:
his was an evil look I saw that night.
Passing judgment, I'm not accustomed to,
(he could have done it when far out of sight.)

At last this story is wrapped in a glove.
The Butler's name, by the way, is Daniel.
The box contained a gift for Daniel's love:
A golden, freckled-nose cocker spaniel!

Premium Member Philip Marlowe

He was alone and lonely.
Sadness swept his eyes
before he jabbed at me
with his cynical sarcasm.

He slowly lit his Camel.
It was a simple act of murder
and he was a scholar of sorts –
a player of chess, a fan of poetry.

I knew I was under his scrutiny.
I agree it looked rather suspicious.
After all, the body was there
and I was found holding the knife.

I squirmed under his hard eye
but leaned back into the chair
in front of his desk knowing
he had a soft spot for women.

A hard drinker, he took a bottle
from his cabinet and offered
a glass to me. I didn’t accept
as I knew I should stay alert.

“It was a man, a squabby man,
with a glimmer of glee in his eye,”
I said. “He looked at me, then
threw down the knife and ran.”

Marlowe said, “I don’t think you did it.
There was no blood on your clothes.
Your shoes would have soaked
in the blood and crusted.”

I relaxed a little and offered a smile.
I knew I was home free.
I was glad I had changed my shoes.
“I’ll take that drink now.”

	She took the bait…

Premium Member Stephan, Under Suspicion

The case of caviar the Humpherts ordered
was missing from their mansion. What a mystery!
Could long-time butler Stephan be the culprit?
If so, posthaste the traitor would be history.

One Humphert child cried out, “He wouldn’t do that!
“Some stranger could have slipped in,” said the other
and swiped those little cans. Are they expensive?”
“Oh, yes, five thousand dollars!” said the mother.

They then recalled that when their goods were stolen,
the butler and his bowling team were out of town.
They told the kids, “You’re right. He didn’t do this.”
The stunning theft resulted in a weeks-long frown.

The kids now keep a secret from their parents.
They’ll never tell how much stray cats love caviar.
They buy them cat food now with their own money.
Stephan just smiles and nods while watching from afar.

Suspicion

A wee silky cat
With heafty cordial fair eyes
Perched at a fence
At my sight descends
Escorts me to the mosque's gate
Retraces back at risk
Human presence troubles him

Premium Member Suspicion Fell On the Butler

Murder was served at the table.
The fellow is dead, not stable.
Page turned, nothing could be subtler -
Suspicion fell on the butler.

It was the salt and peppering -
It’s clear his oversteppering
was found out this night…all knives out.
Stone cold - the butler gave a shout.

The poison sealed the rim of glass
to coup de gras the loudmouth bass.
Another page was turned, we’d learn
the butler’s dead - a great concern!

The guests, now accuse each other,
but one by one they fall. Bother!
Who hates them all? Who’s caused this strife?
One’s still standing - the butler’s wife!

The reader, glares at the writer,
declares it was a nail biter.
She tells the author to drink up.
He hopes it is a loving cup.

Suspicion Fell on the Butler

'Twas a murky damp eve at the big house,
A frightening hallway clock tolls troll-less,
Hark the wayward butler a standard louse,
I glanced via the house he's gone I guess.

You're confident you've dug in everywhere,
Every nook and cranny cracks in the fence,
All we found were pipes but he is nowhere,
The shadiness of mistrust emerged dense,

He yelled at Mr. Cheevers, the louse claim,
He saw nothing he know nothing came up,
And shortly haunting tolling trolls proclaim,
Straggled Suspicion fell on the Butler, yup!

Premium Member Weeping In the Chapel

Alone in the chapel, falling apart
Unveiling the wounds of her tortured heart
Seeking solace in quiet of the night
Wishing and praying her instincts aren't right.

The true love of her life has gone astray
She saw him with someone else yesterday
Hoping she had got things completely wrong
That he'd been faithful to her all along.

She cannot believe that they may be through
And is undecided what she should do
He hasn't told her anything face to face
And hopes to be blessed with merciful grace.

She prayed that he would be back tomorrow
To sooth away the pain of her sorrow
She could not stand the idea that he
Was in love with another somebody.

Suddenly there was a tap on her back
She turned around, it was her sweetheart Jack
He kissed her and said in all honesty
‘Twas his sister he was with yesterday.

Suspicion fell on the butler.
one scone was missing
a chair askew.

The constable scratched his chin
tapped his note pad.
The butler stood
Idly guilty in the doorway.
This was not the first such incident.

The Lady of the Manor strode into the room,
surveyed the situation
muttered under her breath.

The constable observed her behavior.
Discretely followed her
to the garden
where she inquired of the gardener
“Where is he?”
The gardeners reply:
“Behind the shed, Ma’am”

The constable joined her
as she looked behind the shed.
He was there all right.
Crumbs on his lips
jelly on his paws.
Guilty.

Are You Under a Cloud of Suspicion

Are You Under A Cloud Of Suspicion?

Do you feel you’re under a “cloud of suspicion?”
Despite all of your efforts
 and “best intentions?”

Have others found you “guilty” by a word spoken?
And this has left you hurt and your heart “broken?”

Perhaps you’ve tried the best way you could.
But you often feel misunderstood.

You may feel “cast off.” Alone and afraid…
There’s been many times you’ve cried and prayed!

If you feel like your life has been “upside down.”
I know of someone who can turn your life around!

His name is Jesus! He’s done the same for me!
The chains are gone. I’ve been set free!

Any kind of “suspicions” will vanish and disappear!
God’s word can make
HIS love so very clear!

God’s love and hope for you is powerful and evident!
Won’t you allow HIM to be your heart’s “resident?”

With Jesus… Through life’s storms, you shall prevail!
He is your best friend and will never fail!

Jesus is the “antidote” in a hopeless situation!
You can accept his gift of life and restoration!
