Weeping In the Chapel

Alone in the chapel, falling apart Unveiling the wounds of her tortured heart Seeking solace in quiet of the night Wishing and praying her instincts aren't right. The true love of her life has gone astray She saw him with someone else yesterday Hoping she had got things completely wrong That he'd been faithful to her all along. She cannot believe that they may be through And is undecided what she should do He hasn't told her anything face to face And hopes to be blessed with merciful grace. She prayed that he would be back tomorrow To sooth away the pain of her sorrow She could not stand the idea that he Was in love with another somebody. Suddenly there was a tap on her back She turned around, it was her sweetheart Jack He kissed her and said in all honesty ‘Twas his sister he was with yesterday.

Beautifully penned, Belle. Better than O'Henry, your twist at the end. See you in the Winner's Circle! Light and Joy, Gershon
