Scared of the Pen

Sitting alone with my thoughts and this drink at night
So many thoughts but I'm scared to pick up the pen and use this Ink to write
So much of my pain is bottled up, I know it's not good to keep it in
I've had so much to say but I've been scared of the pen

Even without talking about the pandemic the past year for me has been painful
They call it the devils juice, but this alcohol has been my angel
My Mum got ill and I've been her full time carer since
From growing up in foster care, to being here for her just shows my strength

But truth be told i've been in a bad place trying to deal with stress
Laughing for the benefit of my friends, but secretly trying to heal while depressed
So much bottled up inside that I need a clear out
So many issues I keep to myself because I know they're things people don't want to hear about

lately my mind has been elsewhere
Taking care of others but neglecting self care
7 years free from Self-harm, but not caring for myself was as dangerous as when I used to use the blade
Maybe I shouldn't be so honest, but I can't put on an act I'm not on a movie stage

So many questions I have, but I may never have the answers
Last november I got sexually assaulted on a night out, then 2 weeks later I lost a friend to cancer
I usually hide behind humour, but there's nothing funny about this
Since then, self made hidden armour and a fake smile have been my outfit

Most people are trying to make it out of the storm, but I know how to survive in it
I hardly ever cry, but maybe it would be healthier if I start crying out more
Giving up isn't an option, there isn't a fight I will be lying down for
Because if I'm still in the fight against my demons then I might win it

I've had so many days of pain and nights of worry
But I get back up when they least expect it like I'm Tyson Fury
I always find a way to survive so my demons and obstacle should be the ones scared
But recently I've been scared of the pen because of everything I've been through in the past year

Premium Member A Knock At the Door

,A Knock at the Door,

,*This is a dark poem, but it is a true story about how I was raped by a former friend on my birthday.,

As dusk sweeps away the afternoon sun
The skies will grow gradually dark
Perhaps some glittery stars strewn about
And the moonlight’s reliable spark

For most, this cycle of day and night seems
Too mundane to evoke much alarm
However, a few who have suffered the night
Fear darkness sides nicely with harm

When trauma comes knocking, no matter how wise
A victim may open the door
For caution and innocence cannot protect
Ill-intent from a friend known before

The strength of his arms as he pushes you down
Leaving bruises on your pale, white skin
Tearing your bottoms just wide enough
To bully room for an unwelcome in

“No” floats meaningless, as do your cries
As he enters you roughly instead
Pleas fall on deaf ears as he grunts and moans
You weep and imagine you’re dead

When he’s done, you are useless, he stands
You pray now he’ll just go away
As he walks out into the darkness
One last sting when he moans, “Happy birthday.”

Said the Chipmunk To the Hawk

Said the Chipmunk to the Hawk

Said scared, little, tail-striped chipmunk to red-tailed hawk,
“I am hidden over there where you will not find me.”

Said hawk in a swoop to another branch, “Jiggle that
tail again, so I’ll dive and sweep you off to heaven!”

Crouching as flat to the earth as she could be, chip-
munk said, “But I am already there where all points

of heaven reveal bliss...” which did perplex red-tail hawk,
who gawked up, then scanned all around for

some clue of heaven in this forest he knew he knew,
as she provoked, “You see?” But with his instincts

darting everywhere, hawk replied, “You lie! You
make riddles of my threat!” To which she flashed to

the opening of her tunnel, quick as light, calling,
“Heaven does contrive for good in life!” Hawk

affirmed a new place of some prey and turned.
Was he not made to hunt? Not for dramas like this?

Hawk bent over his feet, lifted his wings into flight
aimed at rustling leaves not far away. Hawk, while in

his flash, asked his forest, “Heaven, does it spread
as far as over there where I go?” Forest said, “No know,

no.” Hawk did not understand...In her tunnel, chip-
munk dropped two acorns from her cheeks to eat.

Zipline
  is fine

And fun
   when done

Hold tight
   with might

Intense
   suspense

Keep eyes
   toward skies

Look down
   and frown

It hops
   treetops

To fall
   you’ll bawl

Moves fast—
   a blast

Though great
   can’t wait

For feet
   to meet

On sound
   firm ground!

Premium Member I Am Scared

Warnings are given
School schedules on hold
Evacuation notice
Echoes of years ago
Rushing to Jounieh port
Under cover of night
The harbor being shelled
“NO lights
NO lights!!!!
Not even a cigarette
Get on the speed boat
Hurry…HURRY!"

Cyprus…a blessed few hours away
If only we can speed away
On this fastest speed boat in the world
Sent to rescue
I’m going to be sick
Waves hitting the windows
As we listen for the sound of whistling bombs
Listening
Waiting to be blown out of the water
Will we make it?
Will we make it????
Palpable tension in the suffocating darkness

Now…TODAY
Memories struggling to gain attention
"Restrict movement
No again unnecessary trips
War is around the corner
Be careful!"

I’m scared
But mostly....
I’m tired
The sounds of war…
have not yet died out from my ears
The sights of devastation…
have not yet left my vision
The fear of death
has not yet left my heart
And now….
It resurfaces
Pulling out of the tomb
The ghost of war passed

NOW…new threats
New dreams on hold
Lives again on HOLD
ON HOLD
We were not meant to dream
We were not meant to live
Free

I’m sick
I’m sick of hearing about it
I’m sick of the world being silent
I’m sick of worrying about where to go…
I’m sick of thinking of those who will die
And the country that will be left
In utter anarchy and chaos
As the others in the region
This region of bloodshed and strife…

“There shall be wars and rumors of wars
Nation shall rise against nation
Because iniquity shall abound
The love of many shall wax cold
There shall be earthquake
Pestilence
Distress of Nations
Famine
Signs in the sun, moon, and stars
When these things begin to come to pass
LOOK UP
FOR YOUR REDEMTION DRAWETH NIGH.”

These are the signs of the times
He is coming
He is at the door….
Heaven will burst open
And He will come triumphant
AND EVERY EYE SHALL SEE HIM....
Nothing secret about His coming

ARE YOU READY
FOR THE COMING PRINCE OF PEACE?
Then finally, FINALLY
Worry and fear
The bloodshed
And every war
WILL CEASE….
FINALLY
Oh, LORD JESUS, FINALLY
We can have
P E A C E!

The Breakup

She's quite an intellect
A beauty skinned in fair reasoning
Clothed in fumes of rationalism
Her eyes were made up with eyeliners of 'what's your next plan'...
Her face was polished by the sixth sense
At least, so she thought
She spoke eloquently to me
Stole the show in my heart
And drove away my sense of risk...
Decades slipped through my fingers like snow flakes
Opportunities drained off through the years
While stagnation clutched to my skin
Just because I am dating this lady
She calls herself 'being rational'
Many know her as 'what if this option fails?'
But I'ma call her with her real name
Scared of the future (SOTF)...
I had a 'lone time' last week
And all I accomplished with her was 'lost time'
So I thought to myself
What if I had less than a decade to live
And before I say goodbye
I decided to walk through my hall of fame
I'm certain all I'll see is a dark brown wall staring back at me
And the next generation would refer to me as
'the guy that dated SOTF'...
So today I've decided to break off our relationship
Yea, I'ma dump you, darling
It's not me, it's you...
I've always been amazing until I met you so...
It's best if we let each other go...
I'm not sorry...
I hope we don't cross paths again...
I'm too good for you...
You don't deserve me...
You've been the worst thing that's ever happened to me...
This is me breaking up with you...
Ooh! You wanna cry? Mmmmm... Meh!??

SCARED TO DEATH

I was warned not to go near that dreadful place,
And if I glanced them, to immediately
Turn my face,
Which I did, and began to run away in the pouring
Rain with all my might,
And turned down a dark lane thinking I was
Out of sight,
They however saw me and my footsteps
Began to trace,
I was afraid, horribly scared, trembling and
Wet, I was close to home, my safe space!
I hurriedly unlocked the door, the phone rang
It was midnight,
Heard windows shattering, dogs howling, the
Electricity died, there was no light,
A shadow emerged from nowhere, then two,
Three and four,
Vampires with razor sharp teeth surrounded me
Drooling, I looked down from above, I am no more!

Scared of the Dark

Like a knife it slices thin.
Slowly like a full blade.

The pain felt through out the body.

And ever bearing abundance
That will never go away.

Inside you'll scream.
You'll cry.

Hoping and praying this pain
Will forever go away!

But in your heart you'll know
No such remedy exists.

Crouch down.
Hold yourself.
Rock back and fourth.

It won't save your soul.

Won't protect you from what you
fear.

Even then it's the fear
Of fear itself that kills you.

The fact of not knowing what to
Be afraid of and what not.

It clouds your mind
And their for clouds your thoughts.

To overcome this
Is to court strength into
What is visually unknown.

To put aside all that cause
You to break down and cast
Off all emotions.

To be free... As you will
Is to be heartless.

To not feel anything at all.

So that when these nightmares
Come back you'll be awaken
Not of fear but of full rest.

Only thinking you've done your best
To cloud the monster that lies
Beneath your mind.

Just itching for every way to get
inside.
Leaving you but a pile of ash,
That was too scared to protect
Your own ass.

Some mystery seeds from China Town

Arrived by post wrapped in a gown

But they were lizard eggs

That hatched, crept round her legs…

She screamed in fear, jumped up and down.

Monster

I fear my monster
Powerful and beautiful.
With her deadly green thorns
And two piercing green eyes
She screams for me to let her out.

Through Jaded Eyes

Through Jaded Eyes you see the world,
and everything in view.
But see you weren’t like this
when I very first found you.

It sucked you in, this monster,
and it caused the world to pause.
It took our lives away
when it had trapped us in it’s jaws.

I wish we could go back
so we could both do things differently.
But the monster had us both,
and both had found ourselves diseased.

I fought hard to escape it,
but you had got the taste for blood.
Obsessed with getting high
no matter what it costed us.

I try hard not to fault you,
for I too, have played this game.
But my love for you was stronger
than some temporary gain.

Maybe I don’t understand
why you have never wavered.
You’ve hurt my Heart so deeply,
Now I’m sad, alone, and angered.

Perhaps if I should stoop,
and find myself once more a user,
Then I could not be mad
perhaps my hurts would then be fewer.

Once more we both are trapped again,
indulging in these sins.
We fight a losing battle
where this monster always wins.

The thing we failed to see though,
was that both of us evolved.
We replicate the monster
who had caused the harsh downfall.

Looking at each other,
do you still recognize my face?
For I am not so sure
our faces haven’t been replaced.

We spit such venom freely
As if sworn of enemies.
Our love cannot return
Unless we finally break free.

Our love has faded drastically,
And it seems there is no hope.
We’re marching towards the gallows.
Conveniently, bring our own rope.

We string each other up,
Ready to kick each other’s chairs.
We’ve come to kill each other
with chemicals to push us there.

A monster I’ve become,
not sure I even know my name.
I fear that there’s no turning back,
Or that I’ll ever be the same.

Your eyes become more empty
every time we play this game.
Tell me, are my eyes too?
I feel so hollow and ashamed.

Now clouds replace their light,
And it’s so hard to recognize…
ourselves and all that is,
while peering through such Jaded eyes.

Premium Member Scared I Am Losing It

Scared I’m Losing it.
I don’t know what to do my mind so busy things are getting confused. I can’t remember things I’ve been doing or numbers that haven’t changed. I’m catching moments of confusion finding things; Popsicle melted on the counter.
I can’t sleep at night. No matter how tired, sleep eludes me! I can hardly stand myself. I beg God to help me before I lose it.
I think others notice something wrong. Crying, terrified I can’t hold it together much longer. Fear and panic taking over; what to do, I’m so alone! My heart heavy and my mind confused now a place of insecurities and unsafe moments!
Scared I’m losing it; living in fear as panic hovers, in the blink of an eye I could lose touch with reality. Forgetting where I’m going, what I’m doing; filled with fear; the panicky feeling just below the surface tells me I’m close!
This, I feared all my life! I did reality checks and watched for warning signs. My Fear’s now coming true. Trying to deal with stress isn’t working.
I tried to be a good person, doing the best I could. I needed a strong person to lean on loving me no matter what; always putting me first. Having me to trust and rely on my heart was empty. My secrets and dreams I kept, unable to share. My doubts and fears mine alone!
At times the pain unbearable, my mind explored beautiful places. My guardian angel and to God I talked. My fish; I told my worries.
Scared I’m losing it, I pray as my fears become known and I drown in tears; people will try to understand. I thought I had a method to my madness; however I guess it was just pure madness!
