Premium Member Kind of Reasonable Explanation

Do angels walk amongst us, to be honest I really don’t know
My answers may seem rhetorical, for what life tends to throw
Could well be our imagination, reaching out tendrils with clasps
Preventing approaching damnation, attempting one final grasp

Strange intervention can occur, when life’s staring into the void
Could it merely be coincidence, or vague influences redeployed
Inexplicable yet tangible, transcending all logical explanation
Might some forces of nature step in, to try avert utter ruination

This is no conspiracy theory, or narrative about personal hurt
Doesn’t matter if you believe, penning this for what it’s worth
I’m not a self righteous person, neither practice any religion
Still mysterious events, have manifestly altered my decisions

Where do these anomalies come from, I cannot figure it out
Haphazard random chaos, or designed for moments of doubt
Despite this, I remain reluctant, to place all my trust in faith
Intelligence is the apex and scourge, driving that inner debate

So how about, ‘spiritual but not affiliated’, sounds like a plan
Being agnostic means, never to dismiss anything out of hand
Whatever’s underpinning reality, God or quantum mechanics
My gut feeling, angels of shape and form, do walk amongst us.

No Reasonable Explanation

There’s no suitable explanation for
me- no premise by premise,
with a slight scent of rosed misconceptions
leading to my conclusion.

Scientists? Well they’d have me
believe i’m the effect of some
orgiastic collaboration of molecules.
But without my mind, i’m lost (and
they cannot fix that with surgery)

skeptics aside, why am I here? What’s
my function?

My function is merely to
exist.
To exist within those short breaths
taken upon the peak of dawn’s smile. Within
the st-studdering flutter of eyelids
during the first sight of love, the first
realization of fate.

I’ve set on this land so the sun can shine
through my eyes lifting my head to the clouds,
and my arms to the horizon.

And in my moment of pure innocence
and certainty, you look upon and smile.
  and in that brief stare-
          I exist in you.
I exist for you. Whoever
you are. (morning jogger, tricycle
warrior, dreamwalker)I am simply here
For our thin glimpse of truth:
                              that I exist within you
                               as you in me.

God incarnate, I am not.
But I am given the chance to obtain
God-like attributes. to be a part of Your
life, however miniscule or unimportant.
I made You smile. I made You
laugh. I made You turn. I made You love.
                          I made You exist.

If only for Me You exist.-

Reasonable Doubt

Is there really an omnipotent entity
that created all we survey,
with the power that gave us the gift of life
and the rules for us to obey.

Some say that God put us on earth
just to carry out his will,
but we break all his commandments
even teach each other to kill.

People believe the stories
from a book that’s very old,
but transferred into modern terms
a different story is told.

We have the ability to reason
to find out what we don’t understand,
but most religions are standing still
only science seems to expand.

A Reasonable Crime

Dark to black and beaten skin to living bone.
Chosen by name and marked by birth.

You hang me, cajole me and yellow badge me.
You segregate, strip and stick me. Jackboot,
shoot and gas me, but most of all you humiliate
me. You denigrate my living soul

A nation of teutons, with stiff arms and
hearts fired with ice and faux compassioned
isolation. You, who possess the freedom to hate
without reproach are abhorred, like the
craven lice you name me to be

Now, free from your chains, I rise up. And,
without trial, I beat you with relish and hang you
with my revenge-filled heart. Is this not a
reasonable crime? Will my peers turn away an
understandable eye? Where does my revenge end
and your piety-ridden justice begin?

You, sat in your smug-filled homes, wearing your
warm coats and smoking your dollar-cancered cigars,
eating your belly-filling beliefs. Drinking with your
full-sized families while reading through your
victory-fogged lenses.

I am hungry and I shall be fed. But I; I shall feed upon
dead beliefs and drink without a full-sized family.

Reasonable Parents

My parents gave me countless gifts as a child.
Some appreciated, some not so much.

Most were of the material kind,
And only the most precious ones survive,
Even less of those will be around for my grandchildren,
Though I will do my best to make sure some of those are books,
To keep words of wisdom alive.

But there were other gifts,
Far more precious than I ever could realise at the time.
Gifts I could not hold in my hand.
Their only wrapping, my parent's kisses.

Yet these gifts registering only on scales in my mind.
Have shape enough for me to see
Whenever I looked their way.
They will still look brand new for future generations.
These gift of reasons for all seasons.
Gifts that came at perfect times.
Designed to meet the need that I didn't even know I had.

As a baby I got a reason to smile.
When a little older a reason to laugh came my way.
A reason to to try helped me walk.
A reason to communicate got me talking.
A reason to listen gave me wisdom,
After this came a reason to cry,
So, for others misfortunes I could weep,
And let tears of joy my face streak.

But the best reasons I ever got were in my teenage years.
A reason to get out of bed, and a reason to love myself as well as others.
The key reasons, needed for unlocking the door to adulthood.
With a reason to hope waiting there.
I have one gift left unopened until I really need it.
Or see someone who needs a reason to change their life for the better.

When I hear parents today discussing what to give their children.
I want to shout - Give them a reason.
And should I ever blurt it out.
I am sure they will only ask - where can I get one and how much will it cost.

Beyond Reasonable Doubt Triolet

Beyond reasonable doubt. Triolet.

Beyond reasonable doubt,
I thought that was the law.
In this land that I was born,
beyond reasonable doubt
meant justice for us all.
Keep your faith and let right be done
beyond reasonable doubt.
I thought that was the law?

Reasonable Madness

A billion of leagues
and one pair of legs

Hundreds of smells
So many tastes
torrents of views
innumerable colours
and one nose
one mouth,
two eyes . . . barely.

Countless strangers,
endless loves,
only one sex
and one heart .

Great opportunities,
a few good things
but an infinity of bad
and just one chance,
a short and brief life.

A Reasonable Man

Fred’s a reasonable man
something he takes pride in.
Just the other night

before he threw a dish
against the wall while
talking with his wife

he told her if he knew
what was wrong with him
he’d see a professional.

Right now he’s too busy.
Two new patients tomorrow
coming in for therapy.

Our Left hemispheres repeatedly seek stable reassurance,
hopefully not so much about

Am I the fairest/ugliest
of ThemOthers all?

But more maturely
rationally
sedately
calmly
compassionately,
Am I sustainably healthy?
How am I healthy/unhealthy?
Eased/not diseased?

Meanwhile,
Right hemisphere follows a similar question
of healthy/unhealthy purpose,
but more intuitively systematic,
more about inter-relationship,
about felt content
and known embodied context.

If healthy
confluent consciousness,
then why
and when
are we physically
and mentally safe/unsafe?

A constantly repeated question
of healthy rational purpose,
or not,

But also,
more deeply,
more sacredly felt,
a quest for safe co-passionate meaning
in relationship to
and from
our progenitor gifts

Our indigenously wise
nature/spirit together felt fellow
hearty
hardy
hale anthro-familials,

Residents of spirit-natured
Yang mountain forests
and Yin river valleyed mellow meadows,

Animals,
animated insects,
birds and beasts,
bisexual flowers
and bilateral branch and root nutrition systems,

Bicameral hope
for bipartisan gifts
of bilaterally contextual
MeHealth and WeSafety intelligences

Binomially aware feelings
of why MeWe feels safer
on warm sunny days
and more unsafe
on cold dark nights
outside

Premium Member Reasonable Bankers

Years I have banked there, we’re almost related,
Today given notice account(s) terminated,
It turns out their fine print allows without cause
A denial of service! It’s fine by their laws!

Well this Heritage, I found, has specious intent,
Check out Page 41 (if they don’t pay your rent),
It seems pointing out failure to service your list,
Is the customer’s fault, and the banker gets pissed!

International transfer of funds! Dead request!
Minutes later, Wells Fargo, had honored bequest,
When what Commerce denied me was simply achieved,
I found needs of my clients were quickly relieved.

Looking for service? I’d loathe to compare them,
By accident maybe till crossed wire, or mayhem,
You’re walking on cracked eggs that can’t hatch because,
It seems only Bank hubris can live with their laws.

Poet’s Notes:
Page 41: “Account Termination Or Suspending Accounts Or Transactions”
(Heritage Bank of Commerce of California)

“You and the Bank agree that either of the parties may close your account and terminate this Agreement at any time with or without cause. The Bank may require advance notice from you prior to closing the account. We will provide written notice to you in advance if we decide to terminate your account relationship for any reason other than abuse of the account relationship or to prevent a loss. However, the Bank does not have to advise you of the reason for taking such action. You agree that advance written notice from us will be reasonable if it is mailed to your statement mailing address five (5) business days prior to account disclosure.”

Are you feeling loved, appreciated, important to their success? I’m not!

Reasonable Poetry

REASONABLE POETRY

Out of the muddle of insanity and schisms flows a constant stream of words. My thoughts come to life. From prayer and praise to flowers and rain, everything bubbles through me. Poesy keeps my mind ticking the right way.

feelings trapped inside
when let out flow like a stream
my mind can stay sane

You've no choice
What will be will be
So a greedy and cruel person
Strive for the most
Before it's too late
Maybe this is the reason
Why people are careless
Obstinate and cruel
But no matter who decides your future
You ought to be reasonable
Because you love God
Who is the Creator
Because you love the earth
You live on
Because you love your family
Whom you stay with so long
Any consequence is disastrous
Any revenge is cruel

Elixir of Truth

Glass of my life is with elixir of truth
I choose its pious bitterness
Over to the sweetness of lies,
To activate my neutral taste buds,
To irrigate dried cells of my throat,
To enlighten my naive soul,
To quench my thirst for life
I want to be true on reality of soil.

Let poison of truth eliminate illusion,
I choose its mercy on me
Over to storms of destruction,
To destroy specks of misconception,
To block veins, they flow through,
To remove flesh with faulty deeds,
To amend falsified becoming me,
For union with the honesty of soil.

Reasonable Excuse

I was driving faster than I should,
so a cop with his radar said “good,
I’ve been waiting all day,
for you to come my way,”
but I got there as fast as I could!
