Reasonable Excuse

I was driving faster than I should,
so a cop with his radar said “good,
I’ve been waiting all day,
for you to come my way,”
but I got there as fast as I could!

Thank you George. Perhaps one day you might get a chance to use that line, but I hope you don't - catch you soon - Lindsay

A great limerick that brought a smile and giggle to my lips Lindsay. You are excellent at writing these! I can't write one to save me. : )

G'day Connie … thanks once more for your support. I had never attempted to write limericks until 3 years ago. Once I learnt the structure I stuck to it, but sometimes it took longer to write a limerick than a 20 verse poem - Lindsay
