Reasonable Bankers
Years I have banked there, we’re almost related,
Today given notice account(s) terminated,
It turns out their fine print allows without cause
A denial of service! It’s fine by their laws!
Well this Heritage, I found, has specious intent,
Check out Page 41 (if they don’t pay your rent),
It seems pointing out failure to service your list,
Is the customer’s fault, and the banker gets pissed!
International transfer of funds! Dead request!
Minutes later, Wells Fargo, had honored bequest,
When what Commerce denied me was simply achieved,
I found needs of my clients were quickly relieved.
Looking for service? I’d loathe to compare them,
By accident maybe till crossed wire, or mayhem,
You’re walking on cracked eggs that can’t hatch because,
It seems only Bank hubris can live with their laws.

Page 41: “Account Termination Or Suspending Accounts Or Transactions”
(Heritage Bank of Commerce of California)
“You and the Bank agree that either of the parties may close your account and terminate this Agreement at any time with or without cause. The Bank may require advance notice from you prior to closing the account. We will provide written notice to you in advance if we decide to terminate your account relationship for any reason other than abuse of the account relationship or to prevent a loss. However, the Bank does not have to advise you of the reason for taking such action. You agree that advance written notice from us will be reasonable if it is mailed to your statement mailing address five (5) business days prior to account disclosure.”
