Best Rainy Day Poems
i stood looking outside
listening to the rain
with its long slender fingers
tap a tune against my window
squeegees in hand
i could see
the troops of drops
clean the air
for a clearer view
while on their descent
people
some walking
holding their umbrellas
others running
attempting to escape
the cruel barrage of
knocks to their heads
there are a few children
in their rainy day gear
locked and loaded
steady and ready
attacking the puddles
with a fierce offensive
crushing any and all puddles
dare question their authority
jumping and diminishing
the enemy ruthlessly
the children's joy
propels me to thoughts
of the gift ahead
a rainbow large
or maybe a double arc
fully colored vibrant
interrupted
my kettle
whistles
me over
meticulously
i proceed to prepare
my rainy day cocoa
in my neighborhood
it's a law
rain?
hot cocoa
cocoa in hand
i return to my show
the trees are soaked
the rain unrelenting
the plants forced
to bend under the
weight of heavy rain
all the tiny flyers
seek shelter
while birds
bomb dive
for their landing
worms however
are in their
full glory
out for their
unscheduled shower
later aliens
with lamps
shinning from
their foreheads
will gather
to pluck
worms
from the earth
poor worms
my daughters
will be glad
never having
liked crawlies
of any kind
i suppose
they would think
poor aliens
the rain now
is descending violently
apparently in cahoots
with the wind
but still no
thunder or lightning
this must be their
week off
a paid vacation
i gather
my cocoa only
warm and almost
finished
i decide to
bid the rain
a good night
i head
upstairs
for my
daily shower

Rainy day
Green and grey leisure
You say
It is a pleasure
Green and grey leisure
Drifting poems in sky
It is a pleasure
Golden kites flying very high
Drifting poems in sky
You want them close
Golden kites fly very high
You are morose
You want them very close
So that you can smell
You are morose
Indweller clouds rebel
So that you can smell
You have been waiting
Indweller clouds rebel
A restlessness fascinating
You have been waiting
You say
A restlessness excruciating

Rainy Day Dreams
How sweet’s the lovely scent and sound of rain
As I look out amidst the sultry storm
From bursting clouds upon the window pane,
I feel the chills on my svelte body's form.
The thrill of thunder claps and lightning too,
When shivers crawl and creep along my spine,
I'm warm inside with true love's dreams of you.
My dreams of kissing you are so divine.
Yet you know not my secret thoughts there-of.
Perhaps in spring one golden day you'll see
How deeply my heart longs to know your love;
Of yearning hidden hopes encased in me.
*The storms are raging on the rollin' sea,
And on the highway of regret* they be.

Out on the porch for a little recess
From life's daily chores, listen to raindrops
Pitter-patter, musical sounds request
From gentle breeze, which stirs windchimes non-stop
Nature's orchestra plays as in hammock relaxed lay
A novel to read or just nap away
Afternoon quietly, what more pleasure
Maybe do something risque
Meet with lover, love away rainy day
In deep caresses our love we'll measure
The flame will burn higher as our desire
Rises with each kiss and loving caress
As the rain's rhythm sets mood, love's red fire
Glows as love to each other we confess
Romancing to rain's music dance and sway
Raindrops, roses, love's desire only glows
Lover so glad you could be companion to
Maybe do something risque
As on the love seat, inflamed we repose
Not needing love potion our love to renew
Lover so glad that I met you today
Out on porch listening to rain's rhythm
Stirring music in my soul fears allay
Perfectly matched love's biorhythm
There are now no fears or life's dismay
Love come take me away to higher realm
Come, stay, don't just wait life's rainy day to
Maybe do something risque
Hold, caress, don't wait 'til life overwhelms
Love come stay please don't ever bid adieu

Rainy Day Beauty
Outside our bedroom window
the leaves dance in the rain
As if they’re waving to me,
my smile I can’t refrain
The day it may be gloomy,
but when I look I see
Such beauty here beside me,
now sleeping peacefully
And though the dawn is stormy
with clouded charcoal skies
My morning will be perfect when,
you open up your eyes
Good morning Soupers
You're locked in your room and tied to your bed
There's blood on your pillow from the hole in your head
You lay and you wait, just welcoming death
No fight or struggle as you breathe your last breath
The rain is cold as it thunders and storms
But your blood flows red, silent and warm
The wind blows hard as it howls through the trees
You lay motionless as I beg and I plead
A tear drop falls on your pale colored skin
There's a smile as you whisper faintly, "Allison"
A gun shot to your head, a bullet to the brain
No matter how you word it, the results are just same
The lighting will flash and the thunder will roar
Time will move forward, but for you no more
The oyster's shell of succulent dawn
Burst open a suppressed exhalation yawn.
They had waited on the beach
To see the amber sunshine reach,
Huddled beneath a blanket each.
In their nude feet they walked.
They kept silent, with hands locked.
Darken clouds nudge intruding
leaving the day brooding.
Sweet brine whiff encouraged, as they listen.
Falling gracefully rain glisten.
A smile pulled at both their lips
Beneath umbrella they shared rain nips.
Rain resonating deep into the ocean,
Sand, and the lover's soul emotion.

To prepare for the rain
Is important to every man;
Able to meet his needs,
Doing everything he can.
Look at the ants,
Storing up food in summer;
Not to be caught off guard,
Nor hungry during winter.
But more than ensuring
A life in contentment;
One should prepare for
The day of judgment.
Everything on earth
Shall be burned by rains of fire;
Even the arch of the sky
Shall be destroyed by God's ire.
Collect the bread of truth,
Deposit the Almighty's word;
Reserve food for the soul,
In one fold you'll be able to hoard.
Plan to be ready,
Now that the end is nearer;
It is of utmost value
To heed God's messenger.
A message of caution
From the bird of prey;
Hence, the famous phrase:
Setting aside for a rainy day.
mary had
a little lamb
and a little mint jelly
little
boy blue
is choking
old
mother hubbard
died…like i said...she was old
im a little
tea pot
whatever…just make the tea
there was
an old woman
see old mother hubbard…ditto
little
jack horner
in time out…kid is trouble
humpty dumpty sat on a wall
little miss muffet sat on a tuffet
...separate checks
rainy day beckons
new umbrella shields from damp....
red, blue, green, gold drips
Take me away,
o rainy day
as your gentle waters
pass my way
Sweetly kissed
by foggy mist
my troubled thoughts
have fallen whist
What soothing sound
the droplets found
as on my roof
they dance around
The nearness of
the clouds above
has left the mountains
bathed in love
Purples, pinks
do cast their winks
and woodlands thrive
as Nature drinks
O rainy day
take me away
upon your wings
through skies of gray
my soles sneakers
are free of contaminants~
a walk through the rain

Rain, I adore, I impatiently wait for,
Like a wife awaits her husband from war.
Sloshing, splashing scintillating drops,
Soothing my skin with hopes
along with my smudged heart,
Rain, my first love, my sweetheart.
Laying on the gullible grass,
Staring at the sublime sky,
Thinking of life's dreams made of glass,
As the drops fall, lifting me to fly.
After the sky is clear,
Leaving the earthy smell
That to my heart is so dear.
Freesias, nasturtiums and bluebells.
The sun, masquerading behind creamy clouds,
Willows are not weeping, rain swept away their doubts.
Wisterias are waltzing with the wind,
Gardenias and Geraniums grinned.
What a joy it is to be a mortal!
Life, a mix of smiles, beauty and chortles.
A million memories
of a million kisses
my neck, my body...all over
kisses all the time
but, as the months
slowly turn into years
I have only a fading memories
... of a few
I wished
I saved some
for these
rainy days
A rainy day spent with the grandkids
Beats the sunniest day on a cruise.
You can never explain
Just how much you can gain
Without seeming to over-enthuse.
It’s a joy I feel privileged to sample,
Knowing others don’t share in my luck
But if you can relate
You know there’s no debate
That it’s much more than gold we have struck.
As they grow there are brand-new horizons
While we witness their minds stretch and thrive,
So we soak up the bliss
Never quick to dismiss
How their lives help our spirits revive.
