I reminisce -
My entering sixteen
Though looked fourteen
Full of perplexities of adolescence
More of vigor and less of sense
Thighs bulging out of my half-trouser-veins
Unsuccessful in hiding my protruding pains
Voice creaking, face pimple-filling
Shyness, blush, and anger aggravating
Avoiding my dear and near ones
And even the company of my parents
Reacting to the elders and earning their swearing
Yet needing someone loving and caring
Getting attracted to you, a girl of my age,
Undergoing the same feelings in a feminine-rage
And smiling at you again, again and again
Fearing what’d be your response, even then
Though you seemed well reciprocating
Yet stern-looking as though staring
Never daring to come closer to you
Waiting… waiting… waiting… to see you
At last fear-filled, confusion-lit
Pressing into your palm a blunt paper-bit
My first ever love-letter, with pleasant pain
Running away gazing at you again and again
Later, hearing your cousin finding it in your skirt
Putting it into your cruel-looking dad’s shirt
Getting spiritually half-dead
Hiding for many days in my bed
Later when I met you again
Finding you as though filled with pain
When you left home to a boarding-school
When I found myself in an all-boys school
Often my asking your younger sister
Whenever I could ever find her:
‘How is she?
Remembering me?’
Then -
You as you
And
I as I
Parting ways, and finding each other -
Never…
I miss you.

When Poets Meet

The clouds part at their roots…
Colliding the winds, waves
Crashing the shores.
We meet…
A rare combination
Of circumstances,
Our situation aggravate
A drastic storm, perfectly.
Words swarm our minds
Like busy bees in search
Of the sweet nectar of allegorical,
Similes and metaphoric explanations…
Pollinating our conscience and subconscious
Respectfully…
The obvious perplexities of poetic banter
And inconspicuous meaning
That bounds us…
Words that conjure from elevated places,
And rollercoaster into the subliminal…
Twirling around into loops, pen to paper
Screeches and screams to an abrupt stop.

The unexplainable written,
Describing what was unknown…
Scrambling to unscramble words
To define this acquaintance,
And when the stars play chase
Through the night sky
And the moon is set-
Know that somewhere out there
Two poets have met…

Earth Trots

Earth trots
Behind the meandering
Leashed by their anxieties
And we in silence
Cannot tell of our perplexities
This age
Is too politically correct
And will not stand
Such truths
There is no lattitude for correction
No urgency
To mend fences
'Fore the frivolous forays of destruction
The seeming acquisition of intellect
Is nothing more than brawn of tongue
Defending the flimsy vulnerabilities
Of hoisted egos
A status quo of exhibitions
The panting tongue
Exalting empty ambition
Tempestuous slobbering
It is such a sensitive subject
Our fragile self esteem
And the earth
At dog school.

Premium Member Thoughts Are No Less Things

Wandering
Through an art gallery
I couldn’t help but wonder where
The ocean of artistic ideas may be found. Down
Deep inside our brains where cells contain the seeds
Of every memory, emotion and intelligence lying scattered
All ‘round. Later I dreamed that things were not quite as they so very
Often precisely appear. Angels danced while we romanced like we were
Making immortal love right here. Intertwined and intermingled, interconnected
Separateness turned single.
Leaving me and you somewhere reaching the outer Limits
Of space between your mind and mine and a concept we call time.
Reeling and Dealing
In the perplexities of where thought originates, I was left concluding nothing more
Or less than Consciousness as the Ultimate Intangible Underlying Everything
From soup to nuts and saints to stars leading me to believe in Thoughts
No less things than birds with wings and songs to sing
As close as you and I are near enough to
Far.

In English classes my skull would be reelin' with a myriad of perplexities,
Strugglin' to cope with English Composition with its multitudinous complexities!
I could never comprehend (and never will) the mysteries of verbs and pronouns,
Or danglin' participles, prepositions, conjunctions and irregular nouns!

"Your future will be mighty bleak", my patient teachers hinted indirectly,
"If you don't learn the intricacies of the English lingo now and correctly!"
The long-sufferin' teachers considered me a dunce and their hopeless bane!
I wanted to be a pilot! How was this folderol gonna help me fly a plane?

Incomprehensible to me were past, present and future perfect tenses!
Invariably, I bungled those terms in trying to compose any of my sentences!
Fiddle faddle! Why, I mused from my naïve and youthful perspective,
Would I ever have any use for a comparative or superlative adjective?

My favorite classes were glee club, art and gymn, each in which I did excel,
But adverb clauses, proper and predicate nouns to my mind just didn't gel!
The use of consonants, vowels and indefinite articles left my head a-spinnin',
I couldn't understand the use of predicates or proper titles from the beginnin'!

Thankfully, after the vicissitudes of high school and bewildering frustration
I somehow managed to accumulate enough English credits for graduation!
Well, I reckon I ain't never gonna be no good at parsin' a sentence no how!
(Wouldn't my teachers be proud of that line - or would me they disavow!)

Follow Your Heart

You've heard it said... "follow your heart"
For relentless desire bleeds for craven want
Yet when indecision weighs on life's many parts
Those opposed abandon not incessant haunt

Pin pricked light shines brighter
Through onyx colored scene
Weakness revealed when life is darkest
Specks of defect in the fortress of our need

Ones heart can be a complexity
An up hill struggle when obscurity feels blind
A quandary of perception in a house of mirrors
Reflections twisted by perplexities of the mind

Follow your heart yes live your dreams
Leave not your mind unreasoned
To walk the path less traveled leaves
A consequence of actions completed

So it is with indecision
To scale the weight of what's to come
When precious life hangs trembling in the balance
A calculated measure of the hearts true sum

Can we really overthink those choices we make
For somewhere every road has an end
Rugged or velvety destinations take root
And blossom where choices were stemmed

I've heard of double minded fools
Tossed like waves in the sea
Perhaps it's simply this woman's folly
To think it couldn't happen to me

Oh to measure the value of dreams
Which to follow or leave for not
Simplicity frowns on passions extremes
Such answers must be skillfully wrought

I pray that with my every tomorrow
I'll be wiser than today
Knowing when it's time to seek the dream
And patient if I must wait

For now I wish but only
To know my own heart in truth
And weigh the scales of value correctly
Then follow with greater wisdom when in naivety's youth

I Love You Still

Thou magic which my heart conceived
upon thy tender chest,
the beat of heart
thy memory kept
as twinge of pain did start.

Though skies be fair or sunny bright
timeless the memory of your eyes,
melting the fabric of my new found life
as I ponder the pain of yours in the night.

Oh how I wish that I could fill
those dreams you had yourself
don't you know I love you still
too true I always will.

I think of you and bate my breath
thou loving gaze, thy sweet caress.
Though I know, nevertheless
right for me...
you were just a little less

Of all I needed
and that I dreamed
from the first for which I pleaded
yet nothing and everything was as it seemed

Ache I will for roots grown deep
hidden underground
though balanced branches take their reach
'twas under the soil depth was found.

Some deep abiding mystery
mine heart shall not forget
that unforgettable symphony
holding tune the tempo of regret

Just this moment beholding the moon
a sigh passes nary my lips
in hopes my wish could find you soon
the hand of loves timeless click

In my heart still I hold you
where room knows no boundary wall
a promise of forever not untrue
when the memory of your eyes I recall

Even now when joy is full
to the brim and runneth over
what could have been's still have their pull
and tear my heart asunder

Still I wish with all my heart
true love you find again
this time ready to impart
the actions of lesser men

Waste not thy years
with so few left
in sadness or regret,
but take thy tears
commingled here
living for what's coming yet...

For fate has sealed
It's place in time
the season of its days,
For choice of heart and of its ways
are perplexities I can't explain.

Unto infinity you'll hold in part
that chain wound round my heart
a voice and eyes that now must hide
In the pocket full of memories of my life.

Such is the sorrow to know you hurt
and all the damage done
If only this wish at once deferred
and of your heartache be done

Quid Pro Quo?!

Ascending unto the fourth pinnacles auspicious plyth ~

To quantumly observe these plateaus regions of oeuvre

Molten monograms of monarchies scripted immure; immolating

These gravitating exhibits of perceptions inter alia

Past particles of meticulously latticed perplexities....

....Quid pro quo?!

Note: Smile ~ "Its 'A Beautiful Day' &, 'Love,' Always," John!:) ~

Nightfall

I look beyond my haggard domain
Glorious in arrayed ideals and name
Seeing my toils decay into sad sighs
Living my life imprisoned by seasoned lies

Good luck some say never runs out
I flee before the armed flint of your shout
A bitter cry for battle and casualties
To heap our dreams with wild perplexities

O! why do you mourn my friends
Rejoice for all things good must truly end
Rejoice for a dusky change is at hand
To dry up the rivers of blood flowing in our land

I step aside for my quest for restive peace
As I survive the obsolete night of hopeful bliss
Beyond the clouds and high mountains that smile
Peace may reign over our land for this little while

Do not fear for the dawn brings sweet light
where all things good are alive and bright

Looking Up

How long before the cobwebs grow
on hopes deferred once bright
to toil long in patience grow
only to concede - "hey, it's life"

Tops of mountains beckon come
majestic sights and purest air
yet to perplexities we seem to succumb
when the present finds us ill-prepared

And so we linger looking up
the beloved trek unmade
for incumbent priorities to lose would crush
as we look with longing and walk away

In the vicinity of a perfect dream
gleaning from smiles that slowly grow
No sail to hoist but the ore rejoiced
for the love with which it rowed

Who can say the choices we make
will in the end prove wise
or show beyond the shadows doubt
to be promises of truth or lies

And so we take a leap of faith
for dreams we live and those we wish
fear and love they coexist
when the choice is choosing a mate

Tattered Hope

E verlastingly entrapped
D uring dreams devastatingly drapped;

You Or Are Your Eyes the Green of a Shamrock's Leaf

Are your eyes the green of a shamrock's leaf,
or your nose the tide that comes and runs?
Is your skin the plains of pearls and perplexities,
your hair the curtain to a rainforest peace?

Could be your ears the caverns where rarities dwell,
and your shoulders belfries that will never ring?
May your chest be a wound that never swells,
and your heart be the silence that learns how to sing

Is your hand a ten-minute first-light,
your fingers the fleeting moment that stays?
Might your arms ensphere the the broken, the evil, the cold,
bring what ends, for sure, to the prelude, alright?

Your legs and feet, perhaps, lucid dreams and strange fools,
with bizarres and bazaars, eccentricities galore,
Playing with colors, creatures, the cosmos, the rules,
that no matter duration, leave invocation for more?

Your mind calculates, creates, contemplates, is there,
But without You, none of these could ever, ever be.
For without the green of a shamrock's leaf,
the vastest of woodlands would seem nothing but bare.

My World of Differentness

My World of Differentness

I am invincible
So don’t try and find me
I have no where about
But it does not make me aimless
I am like the wind
You can’t touch me but you can feel me
Do not try and reason with me
I will leave you with perplexities
Do not think about intimacy with me
Pains and perpetual hurt is what I will cause you
But I am not heartless
Excuse me; do not talk to me about civilisation
I am just the results of my own ideas and theories
If today your heart is bleeding
Do not blame me, you made what I am
I am the results of the disappointments and heartaches you caused me
Follow your way and do not try and understand mine
For if you did, you will go mad
Don’t try and come to my party
When you hear the music of yesterday
The music that got us into the dancing groove
I am peeved at you
Do not attend my funeral
When you I have gone to join our posterities
For in my anger
You will receive a slap and a whack in the face
Do not even talk to me about love
For I have become the opposite
You have made me worthless
I lost the pride and respect I had
Because you have turned me into your chewing stick
Lacerating me all day
You said I am unforgettable
But you treated me with disgust
Allow me to free my mind
I have long carried these hurt feelings in silence
I will bite you, if you draw close
And do not ask why I have become bitter
I am now like a wounded scorpion
Ready to strike
The future they say belongs to God
But you are now welcome to my world of craze and differentness
