Nightfall

I look beyond my haggard domain
Glorious in arrayed ideals and name
Seeing my toils decay into sad sighs
Living my life imprisoned by seasoned lies

Good luck some say never runs out
I flee before the armed flint of your shout
A bitter cry for battle and casualties
To heap our dreams with wild perplexities

O! why do you mourn my friends
Rejoice for all things good must truly end
Rejoice for a dusky change is at hand
To dry up the rivers of blood flowing in our land

I step aside for my quest for restive peace
As I survive the obsolete night of hopeful bliss
Beyond the clouds and high mountains that smile
Peace may reign over our land for this little while

Do not fear for the dawn brings sweet light
where all things good are alive and bright

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
