Premium Member The Perfect Christmas Tree

We ventured out into the woods one day
Trying to find the perfect Christmas tree
A beautiful fir all will want to come and see
Planning to cut it and carry it on an old sleigh

We walked for miles, until we were ready to quit
We finally found the most magnificent green fir
It was so perfect, full and tall, the top was a blur
We were so excited and couldn’t wait to cut it

We then saw a beautiful red cardinal in his nest
The nest was hidden in the branches of this tree
We couldn’t do it, disturb the nest and make him flee
We decided to leave this perfect tree and let him rest

We turned around and couldn’t believe our eyes
There it was, a smaller version of the perfect tree
We picked this one instead and felt happy as could be
We loved the smaller tree much more to our surprise

Feeling more in the Christmas spirit that we saved a life
We then cut and carried our small tree home that day
We knew it was only right we let that beautiful bird stay
We felt joyous and at peace for not causing him any strife

My Perfect Lover

Five thousand years before the sky was introduced with the sea
It was at that time, that God wrote your name adjacent to me

I wandered through the world, seeking a mind that felt like home
a quiet soul who studies life the way the curious often roam
someone whose gentle thoughts align with questions I once knew
and in that search, my heart kept hoping it would somehow lead to you

Then suddenly you appeared, half-hidden in a tender light
your olive skin aglow, soft as dawn breaking through night
your glasses framed a gaze observant, calm, and wise
as though you carried galaxies behind the quiet of your eyes

My restless heart fell silent, finding rhythm in your tone
as if two thoughtful wanderers had finally found their own
in that moment time surrendered, letting destiny unfold
and our scattered stories met like truths waiting to be told

We stood upon fate’s station, unsure of where to go
carrying unanswered hopes we rarely chose to show
yet side by side we stepped toward a path both strange and true
guided by a gentle pull that stitched my soul to you

I never was a poet, nor had I mastered art or rhyme
until your presence filled my verses, line by line
your steady gaze, so tender, each drew me near at last
turning every fleeting moment into echoes that will last

For in heaven, God made everyone perfect lovers
But we were lucky to find each other in this world
For Five thousand years before the sky was introduced with the sea
It was at that time that God wrote your name adjacent to me

The Perfect Friend

The Perfect Friend ©

Today I found a friend
Who knew everything I felt
She knew my weakness
And the problems I’ve been dealt.
She understood my wonders
And listened to my dreams,
She listened to how I felt about life and love
And knew what it all means.
Not once did she interrupt me
Or tell me I was wrong
She understood what I was going through
And promised she'd stay long.
I reached out to this friend,
To show her that I care
To pull her close and let her know
How much I need her there.
I went to hold her hand
To pull her a bit nearer
And I realized this perfect friend I found
Was nothing but a mirror

Perfect Crime

There is a boy, who I spill all my secrets to.
Someone that I look forward to seeing everyday.
A person who I think about all night.
Who dances through my dreams.
Who's smile is as warm as the sun.
Who's hand I want to hold all the time.
Who's kisses I crave.
Who's feelings makes my knees weak.
Who's voice is music whispering in my ear.
Who makes me smile without trying.
Who makes me blush with just one thought.
Who I want to love.
Who sweeps me off my feet.
Who helps me find peace.
Who makes my heart beat, faster, and faster, each second i see him.
There is a boy, who is sweet as suga.
Who is so funny.
He is cute.
Gorgeous to me.
A boy who I want to stay with.
A boy who I never thought could like me back, until the day I found out he did.
This boy, who is a robber, because he is stealing my breaths.
Who is a lock picker, because he is breaking through the chains on my heart.
Who is a king, because he makes me feel like a queen.
Who is the wind, because he sweeps me off my feet.
Who is the stars, because he makes them shine in my eyes.
Who is the moon, because I pray to keep him at night.
Who is an angel, because I swear he's a gift from God.
Who drives me crazy, because he's always on my mind.
A boy, who is in my music, the lyrics to my songs.
A boy who is my poems, because he's in the words a lot.
A boy who I am quickly falling for.
A boy who wont let me hit the floor.
This boy, I know I'm going to love.
This boy, I might already love.
This boy, who makes me less scared.
Who holds my biggest secrets.
Who has also been hurt.
Who always looks at me the same way, full of happiness and love.
Who doesn't care what Ive done, as long as I'm his now.
Who would protect me from even my nightmares
This boy, who gives me butterflys.
This boy. This boy.
He is the only one I want.
He is perfect to me.
He is different then everyone else.
He is unique, and amazing.
I love this boy.
He has my heart.
Baby we'll commit the perfect crime,
I'll steal your heart, since you've stolen mine.

A Perfect World Begins With You

In a perfect world
I would get to spend every moment with you
In a perfect world
I would languish in a decadent love that's true
In a perfect world
there would have been no need for tears
In that perfect world
we wouldn't have gone through trials or fears
In a perfect world
We would be gifted endless happy years

Or perhaps in a perfect world
Someone else would be more perfect for you
and you would think he was amazing too
For me that perfect world would be truly blue
What would this broken heart ever do?
I don't care about perfection, if I can't spend my life with you.

In this imperfect world
We've had our share of trouble
We haven't lived life in a perfect bubble
Sometimes we trip and stumble
Yet we are blessed many times more than double.
What we have gone through has made us who we are
Fortunately we have both ventured here from afar
You are my life's light, hope and guiding star
So what if life's not perfect, that's much better than okay
I don't wish for it to be any other way
Things happen as they should day by day
We let life unfold as it may
For all things happened to bring you here to me
I'm at the right place where I'm glad to be
For I know being with you has always been my destiny
Therefore I'm beyond sure
this is my excellent world
Because around perfection
these arms are curled!

Of Perfect Beauty

And say unto Tyrus, O thou that art
situate at the entry of the sea, which
art a merchant of the people for many
isles, Thus saith the Lord GOD; O Tyrus,
thou hast said, I am of perfect beauty
— Ezek. 27:3

Libertas,
she who is of perfect beauty
Roman goddess,
situated at the entry of the sea

You hold a torch
that burns a cold flame
From the South Pole to the North,
everyone on Earth knows your name

America,
America
She reincarnated your ancient fame

America,
America
Her prideful beauty became her shame

Libertas,
the fame of your beauty everyone wanted to see
In the presence of a goddess,
all people from every nation worldwide wanted to be

You hold the dovetail tablet
that inscribes the progress of liberty
From the North Pole to the South,
they flock to the land that stands in the midst of the seas
All hoping to reach your shores, dreaming to be free

America,
America
You now reject those who seek haven within your buxom border

America,
America
The Holy Scriptures thus declare: Set your divided house in order

Libertas,
graven goddess greeting poor souls
seeking the bond of assimilation with one another

America,
merchant queen selling plastic rainbows,
you look just like Tyrus, your ancient twin brother

Your picture perfect beauty
is rapidly fading away
You always took pride in your nudity,
now an ugly portrait resembling an aging Dorian Gray

my palette is encrusted
with all the dried remnants
of yesterdays hopes
where strokes of genius and folly
were first born in
a fresh imagination

my canvas
overlaid with realities
correcting unfinished pieces of dreams
that were once so perfect
so beautiful that nothing else
would ever do

expectations sketched with
a once steady hand
until one day
i stood back
embraced reality
and
the priceless gifts of

imperfection

The application is sitting on the desk
The following will not determine acceptance
Weight, height
Age
Hair color
Certainly not breast size
Education will make little difference unless it's used wisely
There is no one to compete with
Acceptance is almost always guaranteed
What are we looking for you might ask
Have you cryed?
Have laughed?
Does your heart possess the capacity for love
Do you sing along with the radio
Have you smiled, really smiled?
Have some of your dreams come true?
Are there still dreams waiting to unfold?
You can be shy or outgoing
You don't have to be anyone else
Flaws are important
They are what make you unique
Doubts and confidence
Forward and reserved
Doing the best you can today
It's okay if you have failed
Are you still smiling?
It's even okay if you are crying
You just have to be you
No need to change for anyone
If you want to change that is okay
You will reinvent yourself many times

If I could live in a perfect world
where nothing would be strange
and nothing would be spoiled,
Could that be easy to arrange?

If my house were built upside down
and I entered from the roof,
I would be a perfectly happy clown
but you would think I'm a goof.

The eye of perfection to me
may not be what you condone,
but I would find happiness
if ice cream came in a larger cone.

I think it would be 'toadly' riveting
if frogs hunted us for our legs
and humans would start ribbitting
when in our coffee we found dregs.

My perfect world would be mellow
if I painted it with my brush
I could make the oceans yellow
and on me all guys would have a crush.

Perfection! It's like beauty to the eye
of anyone who wants to behold.
All you need to do to give it a try
is allow your imagination to be bold.

The Perfect Day

Mist rises from the valley floor

Sunshine peeks over the mountain top

silhouetting the Coopers Hawk

soaring in the southern breeze

I sit in my old oak rocking chair

drinking my dark black coffee taking it all in.

Mornings don't get any finer

I am one

one with nature.

The smell of flapjacks fill the air

Then out walks you

my heart skips a beat

as you smile

brighter than the clear blue stream

blending in beautifully

with the azure sky

your caramelized eyes glisten

each time you glance my way

I can't help but smile

for this is the perfect day

deep and late into the hem of night
my thoughts question uncertainties,
perhaps my heart does not believe in life
anymore, and deem men as anti-heroes;
so i lock the door of my tactile pores,

yet i speak of men in my accepted duality
somehow, honoring the smell of their laughter,
and their taste of affection with anger
to sketch their contours with my skin
on white linen between ceiling and lamp;
that when i open my eyes to look at their faces,
i see the whole universe.

then to recall how gazing through a skyline
the moon reflects tints of past flames and strangers,
as peak of moments’ rapture explodes
slicing the darkness ...changing whimpers to wonder...
that all i could say is “ thank you”,
appreciating my imperfectly perfect world...
i recall filling a basin of warmth for them
when streams of giving chains me
in the under –toe of hunger’s ebbs and tides,

embracing the divine wonder in their beings.

In Perfect Equilibrium: a Collaboration With Chris :D Aechtner

An inner earthquake rattles him again
as the fiery sun dips in the horizon
Can he too, hide his halo as such?
Closing his eyes as he folds in his wings,
wishing he could take it off
He trembles...must he embrace darkness to know of love?

Sun breaks over the mountain range,
her obsidian skin absorbing the light.
If her body is like a canvas of night,
could she reach within herself,
beyond the horns and hooves
and find her own hidden sunrise, deep inside?

             The darkness is more reassuring
than he could have ever imagined-
something to truly weigh his goodness against,
             in a finely-tuned balancing act.
And as the stars can help guide a lost soul,
he too possesses a true north within.

Oddly enough, she welcomes the radiance,
such a stark contrast to what she has been used to-
rays drip into her like ink diffuses in water,
a momentary burst of chaotic brilliance,
followed by an even stillness.
She cannot escape it, becoming a part of her.

The rooster crows for the third time,
so he opens his eyes to this daybreak,
emerald mountains shimmering in the morning light.
Through abysmal depths, he arises and now realizes
Darkness comes as the light falls, it is inevitable...
yet Light also takes over that darkness.

With the thickening dusk,
clouds turn into amethyst ribbons.
The day's warmth thawed a part of her
that was kept frozen and dead for eons.
Now, she would do everything in her power
to keep it pulsing--to keep it alive.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Upon watching them, sheer fascination takes over....
Even though these two are on different paths,
they had both achieved a similar transformation,
as if neither was an agent for one side, or the other.
             Not any longer.
             And how their auras shone
             ....in perfect equilibrium.

If life was perfect there would be no more cancer...

There would be no more painful treatments, but more cleansing
of your bones. If only I could drain out your marrow and fill it
with my tender kisses. Every time I see that IV I want to rip it out
and burn it, sending it to the oblivion of hell. You would be living a
healthy, happy and joyous life. Free from the daily struggle to stay alive.

If life was perfect you would be sleeping next to me...

I would wake up and gaze at your perfect skin as you slowly breathe
in and out..in and out..in and out...
Now there is no more breath to feel gently on my neck.
Nights would bring intimacy instead of sorrow,
and mornings would bring me hungry for breakfast,
instead of starving for your touch.

If life was perfect I would hear your soft voice...

Vocalizing with you would be enough to carry me through another
dreadful day. My phone would ring and I would memorize every word you
said and play the tape over and over again. The tone you would portray would
be full of excitement instead of tearful goodbyes. "Oh, please keep talking,
don't let me go...."

If life was perfect we would dance under the constellations.

Hand in hand...body next to body...two becoming one...
with a whisper of tunes we danced to at our wedding. No more bed ridden
days and praying for you to take one more breath. I had a fear of your last breath,
and when it happened my heart stopped beating and my lungs choked up as
I drowned in memories of us under the sad moon. I have named a star after you,
it's called “My Love Sirius”. It shines all night allowing me to see you protect the
earth, like you protected me.

If life was perfect....
our journey of love would be shouted for every year we are on earth together...

I could not refrain from asking what it was that made her sigh
When each picture that she started she took down. I wondered why.
The young lady was forthcoming; said her thoughts were fresh and bright
Every time she started painting nothing seemed to turn out right.
Then she glanced at my own painting and declared that it was great
She remarked I found it easy to imagine and create.
Well, I smiled and softly told her that it was my special brush
That afforded all the wonders; careful handling with no rush.
So I told her she could use it, to be gentle for a start
Till they reached synchronization so that both could play their part.
What about the other brushes? Do not fret or give a hoot
Mine will be the instigator, all the rest will follow suit!
I went off to have a breather while she went to work anew
Gave her time to get on with it then returned exact on cue.
I could see her face was radiant and her work intense yet cool
She expressed appreciation at my most fantastic tool.
I will let you on a secret; I have played a hidden card
For my brush is only normal. You were trying just too hard!
You can paint, you have it in you. To your talent be not blind.
As you see there is no magic; it was only in the mind.
So good luck with your endeavours. Some advice, precise and brief
You can make the perfect painting; all you need is self belief.

Note: This poem was written to pass on a message to all those who
suffer from low esteem. Self-belief is the way forward.
