In a Perfect World

A Perfect World Begins With You

In a perfect world
I would get to spend every moment with you
In a perfect world
I would languish in a decadent love that's true
In a perfect world
there would have been no need for tears
In that perfect world
we wouldn't have gone through trials or fears
In a perfect world
We would be gifted endless happy years

Or perhaps in a perfect world
Someone else would be more perfect for you
and you would think he was amazing too
For me that perfect world would be truly blue
What would this broken heart ever do?
I don't care about perfection, if I can't spend my life with you.

In this imperfect world
We've had our share of trouble
We haven't lived life in a perfect bubble
Sometimes we trip and stumble
Yet we are blessed many times more than double.
What we have gone through has made us who we are
Fortunately we have both ventured here from afar
You are my life's light, hope and guiding star
So what if life's not perfect, that's much better than okay
I don't wish for it to be any other way
Things happen as they should day by day
We let life unfold as it may
For all things happened to bring you here to me
I'm at the right place where I'm glad to be
For I know being with you has always been my destiny
Therefore I'm beyond sure
this is my excellent world
Because around perfection
these arms are curled!

Wonderful that you have this perspective. Somehow, seeing through and prevailing over the nonsense serves us well, yet I it's hard for me that I so seldom understand. So I try to keep my face into the wind, that I'm not turned aside and completely blown away.

Hello, Richard, I gave you the biggest compliment to another soup member over the phone yesterday. I was not wrong, every line is perfect. If I ever was to learn from anyone on this site it would definitely be you and Sir Paul C..... The ending wraps up perfectly. Love LINDA

Good morning Richard, My sister's on tour right now. I logged on to her account a few days ago, to close a contest I sponsored under Skat, and noticed that there was absolutely NO movement from her. :( just mine from the day I closed the contest. Anyways, thanks for asking. About my popularity. LoL, I always felt it was from all my haters snooping my writes, plus all the curiosity of my Poetic Name ;)

Thanks Linda, I sometimes wonder how ideas keep popping in my head. The last time I stopped writing I had a seven year gap so I hope I can ride the wave for as long as possible. As for learning from me I am honoured that you say that. I personally am in awe of your talent. Your popularity is the result of your tremendous talent and also due to how much you support people on the site. How is SKAT? I haven't seen her in a bit, I hope she is okay.
