Tea Party For Four

Tea Party For Four

Two girls partake of afternoon tea
Under willow trees and pleasant weather
Dolly’s join them, splendid gowns, sentry ready
Social graces with porcelain clean white faces
Sit, side by side, chaperoning quietly
While princess détente takes place
Young ladies soak orange pekoe leaves
Savor the hot flavor afterwards
Sip it warm at leisure through the day
At party pleasure and perfect play
Nuclear proliferation weighs heavy on their minds
As well as gun violence and big people crimes
Still, they prefer cup cakes with icing
The two dollies do too

One More Cuppa Tea

to the unknowing
the cup is empty,
slightly stained,
laced with miniscule
cracks. It has a glossy
sheen., polished
by life’s luster,
buffed and buffeted
by its burdens,
distilling Orange Pekoe
fortunes, reflecting
the passage of time
in the eyes of
the tea leaf readers.

she sits, this cup,
this reservoir
of moments,
symbol of
a simpler time,
the balm of a warm cup
in loving hands
shared across a table,
across a generation,
across the great divide
of age.

Oh, to see it full again,
feel its amber warmth,
inhale its steaming secrets,
nuzzle each endless moment.

A Simple Pleasure

A simple pleasure in simple lines

Frosty mornings, that wear fuzzy slippers,
Bundled against the dawning amber chill
To watch the early robins through misted windows
With fragrant Lady Grey in stoneware mugs
And crispy buttered English muffins
Spread with marmalade.

On a rain soaked early afternoon
When raindrops tumble down rain chains,
As puddles drip from bare branches,
To settle in a comfy chair
With a warming bergamot scented
Cup of tea and little chocolate something.

And when the wind howls in icicles
And evening snow falls in frigid fingers,
Wrapping roads and rooftops in white blankets,
To view the snow blind fury from the fireside
With a spicy pekoe brew in a china cup
From garden parties long ago and faraway.

A simple pleasure in simple lines.

A Mixture of Tea

I Like The 'Black Tea, The White Tea
and The English Breakfast & Earl Grey'
and I Serve 'Rooibos' and 'Ginger' Teas
In My Silver Pot, Cups & Tray

I Like The 'Rose Tea and Herbal Teas
& The Honey-Vanilla-Chamomile'
& 'Apple-Cinnamon' & 'Orange-Pekoe'
Topped With Sliced Lemon Wedge Frills
(& Balancing Cup & Saucer & Carrot Cake's A Skill)

I've Teas of 'Lavender & Hibiscus
& of Jasmine' Flavored Hints
I Pour These Liquid Petals
To Be My Pretty Porcelain's Contents

and That Brand of 'Ancient Tea Trees'
& of Ceylon's '1001 Nights'
Tantalizes My Tastebuds
With Their Dark Teabags Delights

And Exotic Ginseng Teas Blend Into
A Warm & Soothing, Brewed Bond
As A Free Tea Leaf Floats Like
A Lotus In A Cup Pond

Swirling A Cream or Sugar? Concoction
In A Teaspoon's Pool
Gently Lifted To Our Lips Breath
To Savor & Cool

Wafting Aromatic Scents
Thru My Parlor Among My Guests
Or Just Me In My Kitchen
As Day Begins Afresh

But The Tea Mixture Taste
of A Preference Best For Me
Is The Oolong, Added With Peppermint
and Pure Green Tea

aaaah ... slurp
Join me for a sip ... slurp

Drinking a Cup of Tea

An outing drizzling visits two,
walking past a depot.
Dashing through the rain they withdrew,
in a dressed gazebo.

Fine Albert's Country Rose teacups,
set on top matching plates.
Buttered toast and biscuit warmups,
a quaint morning translates.

Orange pekoe redolent blends,
blissful sip indulges,
chews, nibbles, and napkin wipe trends,
engaging divulges.

Taste spirits chatter that transcends,
ere squall is forgotten,
decency trades a storm extends,
a spot of tea brought in.

  "Glowing Enchantment"

footprints softly sifting on warm beach to view
golden hazy orb of sunglow beaming radiant hue.

sharing a picture oerfect moment as day dawns bright
pen and paper prepare to feast on words of sheer ignite.

new morning rise inspires senses absorbing visual imagery
inhaling God's magnificence of breathtaking scenery.

sweet blend of orange pekoe tea soothing balm to greet
flying flock of glorious gazelles gently as heartbeat.

two canines frolic in brown sand splashung on ocean waves
in playful energy to welcome beauty Summer paves.

this miracle from night to day, as darkness tumbles light
and vibrant dreams soon fade to real with enchanting delight.

Premium Member Chickadee Chimpanzee Bumblebee and Little Me

Sweet merry happy chickadee
was terrified of the old racer chimpanzee
He is not so bad threw in the bumblebee
If you knew him well, you could easily see…

But he has such a loud monster truck-like Humvee!
It scares the honey nectar juice out of me!
We watched him race at the chimpanzee Grand Prix.
My auntie Tee paid for Chickadee’s entrée fee.

Now we are all friends – he, she, they and me.
Of course, this includes the wild ornery bumblebee.
We all went out last Tuesday for Orange Pekoe Tea.
Chickadee, chimpanzee, bumblebee and me!

Premium Member Joyful Madness

Butter crumb confection is bliss;
Soft transformation oozes across my palate.
How I love my sweets and dance my taste bud dance!

Liquid silk cocoa whipped with, delicate ease;
a moment of ecstasy.
Caramel scents tasted with vanilla bean milk
are a bakers’ miracle.

Lemon-mint liquid served in a golden mug
of pekoe slips over the tongue.
Strawberry snow cream sits atop spongy beds of
flour and sugar while,
sticky ooze engulfs my soul freely.

Oh, how I love my sweets!

Strawberry Tea

I slipped a strawberry tea
under plain bags of pekoe tea
so handsome chance might choose a someone,
and I, the flavor of their confusion.

Orange-Pekoe Tea

A teabag is snug
in an orange rind as it floats
on the brown sewage;

the spinach leaves swirl
as the drain gobbles and sucks,
and the brocoli

florets are hurried
to the steel beast's growling maw.
The peach liquid soap

sponges and perfumes
the kitchen. Sun-hued butter-
fly wings emerge, lift.

How Can It Be

Eighteen yellow roses arrived today
The forth of September, with walnut tree
leaves Falling like snow, twirling to the ground
Nineteen years ago Rose arrived that may
The eighth of may, with black pekoe tea
Leaves twirling in my cup, spun my world around

Each year another yellow rose joined the spray
In our marriage we just grew more free
Under Each stone turned, more love we found
Each year another since our wedding day
entwined together, she taught me how to be
Over my stone heart she always astound

Seventeen times that annual bouquet
September fourth, under the walnut tree
Under love lightened hearts we danced around
Twice she got stents and god, did I pray
For life without her I just could not see
Third time, no charm, left me gagged and bound

Sixteen weeks since she left this world, that day
The fourth September dying walnut tree
Dried yellow petals, weep dull lifeless sound
yet
Eighteen yellow roses arrived today

Premium Member Soap Making Business

What kind of soap are you making? I asked the gnomes.
They had many ideas they were sharing with each other.
Their soap-making business outgrew most of their homes.
They began a communal business they shared with their brothers.

They made lemon grass, orange citrus, and pekoe tea soap too.
There was turquoise goddess, wind walker and oceans of blue.
Whatever name they decided on, they somehow made a soap.
No matter what came along, these gnomes knew how to cope.
