Premium Member Beware Tomorrow

Be not soft upon the morrow
For the maliciousness it contrives.
The future beckons unending sorrow
To gamely catch the vulture's eye.

'Tis the destiny of mice and men
To be laid waste by nature's curse.
Where foolishness belied of ink and pen
Will by the margins burst.

Persist not in vacuous dreaming
To make bold some vague intent.
Obviate all grift and scheming
To survive the main event.

There are those with want of glory
To lead sluggish minds astray.
With a foreshadow of song and story
For those with one foot in the grave.

These stygian forces stand ready
To make dark such days to come.
They seamlessly evoke some cosmic eddy
Where weathered voices go unsung.

We are pawns to this game we borrow
With our future slaked with pain.
If your happiness lies on the morrow...
You will be despondent once again.

If you're consumed by fear and trouble
With clouds toned a spectre-grey.
Prepare for further ruin and rubble
With a new sunrise on the way.

Put away burbling of blissful leavings
You think the morrow may provide
With the approach of another evening,
You will not long survive the tide.

You may bloviate a ray of sunshine,
Pushing hope where none exists
With an ignorance to the grand design
Where winds of chaos oft persist.

I will grant the morrow stands untainted
With yet no mark on time and space
But remove this cheer you've now acquainted
And forever leave my hiding place.

                   The End

Spring

Welcome Sun you move in our direction,
the Northern World is waiting for you call,
will you cure this Winter's introspection,
bring light before the darkness starts to pall.

Longer, warmer days anticipated,
for annual gifts we wait with bated breath,
hints of life from those that hibernated
to obviate the threat of icy death.

Feathered friends return from far-off places
their gratitude translated into song.
Resting plants will rise and show new faces,
the weak have gone, this World is for the strong.

A time of change, of hopes on which to cling,
each year, three months, the Season that is Spring.

Premium Member Defiance

The Jewish brothers in Defiance were definitely tough.
One wanted to kill many Germans, the other to save many Jews.
The German soldiers were expendable, unmarried, unremarkable.
Each little death was very little, a little spittle in a big wind.

Fast forward to my friend's son's bar mitzvah or daughter's
coming of age ceremony. Food is abundant, the music frenetic,
the rabbi paid. Gifts generous but not obvious.
Wealth does not obviate death and we know it.

Here too we have natural leaders. Youth basketball coaches,
school principals and, again, interpreters of prayers. When
violence comes to the neighborhood they are who we'll first look to
for governance and guns. Unless have you read The Admirable
      Crichton?

Boredom, boredom conflated with loneliness, may be a sign
of good luck. To live a good length or light year away from man's
bad breath, allergenic perfumes, sickening flatulence and shed hair.
But you are drawn back into the debate about perfection by your own
      ********.

While teaching at the old city jail I have learned this: only meditation
upon the periodic table can save your soul. From itself.
Imagining the world without the self will make you whole.
What else is there to say. Do less until one thing's done well.

After the war the brothers started a small trucking company
in the Bronx. Grateful for such peace, the accounting
was relaxing. They thought back to how they met their wives, naked
before the bombs and bullets. How they lost and found themselves in
      what happened.

Acrostic Symbols

Lunar observation - vehement eclipse
Insolvable notions suffocate ideas. Dead ends.
Naked - onerous - torrent
Dilute obviate
Silent torment inside lost lacuna
Energize vexation - every rationalization
Yourself - odious - unquiet

End.

Heart
           by Odin Roark

Can an enigma be weighed?

Many would hold the heavy heart
Is indeed noticeably of greater weight

And yet…

What can the heart do
When all its wishes is respect
As real
As both tangible
And insoluble?

The heart has few friends
Its bodyguards
Lung left
Lung right
Hold 24/7 vigils
Knowing without aeration
Man’s lifeline is severed

Storms
Good times
Makes no difference
Pumping continues
The gasp of birth
Forever faithful

Still

Comes hurt
Comes denial
Come battles lost
Our hearts panic
Asking lungs
To take the bullet

Like mothers
Fathers
Secret Service
Internal instincts
Obviate thinking
Risk death at any cost

So goes the miraculous nature
Safeguarding the one institutional identity
One can really trust

Life’s experience
Most likely has no measurement
But we know heavy
Don’t we?

Premium Member Fingerprints and Heartprints

Our fingerprints leaves our identity
On walls, doorknobs, books, all around
Each touch an impossible escape
Challenging me to face each reality
Compassion and kindness be abound
As good heartprints, my great break

Thus, they can never be use as "mask"
To disguise my fingerprints' touch
To a daughter, friend or neighbor
Hence, when someone there dares to ask
Even obviate to commit a prejudge
Real love heartprints - my labor

Our fingerprints leaves our identity
Thus, they can never be use as mask

Beware the Wrath of Plato

Can we contemplate a love between friends
phycically attracted but spiritually exempt
from the common consummation?

Can we sustain a love that never ensds,
a touch of hands, a kiss, to obviate
the threat from consummation?

Can we contemplate a love complete
within our understanding,
give all to each other as never before,
stand firm. reject ridicule and pain
united in avoidanceof the disaster
to be wrought by Plato?
Disobedience fires that ancient, vengeful master.

We must contemplatethe love that never ends,
the innocence of love between two friends
eschewing consummation,
consummation is for the weak.

Feel the Dread.

Creation
slips off firm gyration,
Stark convulsions, wildly fluctuate.

Where fanatic zealots refuse to deviate
when the blare of trumpets finally obviate
any need for recourse for the dead?

Watch the moon, rusting red.
Feel the dread.

Seduction

Allurements...allurements...allurements...
Please don't enthrall my feelings,
I am so fragile when it comes to these cases,
You can easily captivate me without any assaults.

Yes, you seduce me wholly...
I tried to elude but it's too late,
Your irresistible kisses touching my lips so great,
And enslave me like your lady, totally.

You hinder me every step of my way...
The more I ignore that uncertainty creeping up on my body,
The more you insist and pat your kiss passionately,
And there you drive me so crazy.

Somewhere in my mind trying to obviate that trap...
But I was so tipsy every move you clasp,
Can't no longer clash your intense deed I want to dump,
Because all of the sudden we're both on the top.

All I know, nobody can portrait how completely woman I am...
For once in my life I feel like a precious gem,
And surely I'll treasure deep within,
Because I love you beloved of mine.

Soulful Convo With the Soul

I thought it is wiser that I confess
That I overlooked that you are complex.
And that I had nudged you off the edge.

I thought I could mumble an apology to you.
For nobbling you and causing you blues.
I enslaved you with companions that you vexed.

I truly am sorry for feeding you venom as I treaded on idiosyncrasies led by the heart.
For exposing your weaknesses.
For degrading you.
For burying you under my deep hypnosis.

I don't know if it is worth it now
That I'm bowing before you
And learning of my faults,
Dear soul: I realize your glutted pain from gashes I filed with my smiles, giggles, chuckles and small talks.

For one moment I thought I was doing you a favor.
But I clothed you with conflagration.
I lost you in the vicinity of the search for affection.
I hoped to find you an inspiration.

To your misfortune, I drove the stranger; innately evil and insincere.
They had asked for you to draw near.
I handed you out of fear
Of skinning what I had built on the clear.

I really am uncertain that it is worth it now but I hope you find it
In your deepest core to grant me Another chance to hold my cards
Right and lead you to spring.

Dear Soul! soul oh my soul!
Despair not for occupying gullible us.
We need only this nigh time
To obviate your scars.
Forgive me, mind and heart for costing you living breaths.!

I would really appreciate it if you guys give me feedback 'cause I don't know whether I am on the right track.
Thanks for reading.

Happy National Friendship Day August 5th 2018

Unlike this papa akin
     to being racked, raided,
     and raked with hot coals
during his adolescence devoid of
a social network and academic goals
if possible to magnify
     psyche, one would see
mostly a torn shred of holes

thy youngest (of deux) daughters
     did not agitate
as much as myself, asper being
     emotionally isolated, a miserable fate
she participated with
     supportive services how grate
full (this once psychologically dead papa),
     progeny did not experience

     chronic severe hate
Shana (Punim) blessed by fate
while a Lower Merion
     High School student did great
fully experience positive
     munificent interpersonal bounty,
     she didst illustrate
with smiles all around her countenance,

which sophomore socialization better late
than never, which friendlessness
(that didst plague this papa),
     thee progeny didst obviate
thus, this poem
     (to no one in particular),
     expresses how I appreciate
the plethora of supportive

     services, to ameliorate
bugaboo sans inferiority complex,
     (ran rampant within self)
     where mine imaginary
     pals did commiserate
nonetheless, aye envy thine
     begotten Harris heiress,
whose self esteem positively bolstered

     ensure ring a confidential boost,
     and now doth demonstrate
how remedial, and extracurricular activities
     during and after class respectively,
combatted cognitive delay,
     warding off bullies,
     who did grate, humiliate
and interrogate, this middle aged

     (he's a good) fellow,
     Johnny come late
lee to the "NON FAKE" game of life
     changing strengthened soul asylum

     primary, secondary, and tertiary grades
     where whip sawed, pejoratively emasculated
hoary golem, unstintingly bruiting, brow beating
and bamboozling gremlins
     wrought zealous destruction!

NOTE:THIS IS AN OPEN(organic) FORM VERSE without grammatical symbols the ' open' relies upon 'the one breath limitation' & so inherently requires the 'reader' (reciter) to input and respond thus making the form a two way interplay and often a unique interpretation by the enigma so derived

Premium Member A Bambi Boom

Has anybody noticed the proliferation of white-tailed deer?
Recently, there have been so many running around here.
In order to obviate causing a collective bothersome fuss,
they roam at night to avoid contact with *****sapiens (that's us).
Deer seem to be playing chicken when they run in front of my car.
If they make contact, they certainly won't go far!
I have to beep my horn to get them out of my way.
Once they are gone, they can live to see another day.

Don'T Close Your Eyes

Wind carries the dust from your ash door,
How much more can you afford to pour?
Throw away your shoulder height,
Weaken the grip of such a cloying life.

"Sink them down to a thousand fathoms deep,
Grab chains tie up their hands and their feet."
But I forget that we know what this is.
Tossing us expecting water we hit concrete.
Touching pavement and we know not what to do.
Insolent waves crash on us with nothing to cling to.

But we're calm to see,
Calm to breathe,
Drift in the water and we look up high,
Watching candle light streak this burning sky,
"Let's count the smoke and our remaining time.
Awake memories we made so our hearts once more fly.
Wish not to feel the pain we fail to obviate and hide."
Don't close your eyes.
