Premium Member When I Am Nothing

When I am nothing, a no one,
when nobody remembers my name -
will you give me a purpose to remain?

When I can no longer run,
will you carry me over the line?
Will you teach me how to tread slowly,
upon paths I'm yet to discover,
will you bring me home?

In times of rage and rejection,
will you show me patience,
love me without blame?

Will you understand me -
comprehend the metaphors of my angst?
When I am lost in the wilderness,
will you guide me to be found?
When all doors are closed,
will you provide me with a key,
so I can open yours?

In days of darkness,
when selfish stars hide behind black hues,
when I'm lonely like the moon,
will you place my head upon your chest,
so I can feel the glow of your heart?

When I'm helpless
in the trauma of the storm,
in times of insanity and fear,
will you keep me warm?
Shelter my inner child,
from those who could harm?

When tears finally flow,
when my lips are parched,
will you kiss me softly,
heal me with breaths of empathy?

In times of infliction,
when there is no remedy for my cure,
will you hold my hand,
will you ease my pain -
soothe me until the end?
When I crumble like a summer orchid,
will you lay strong foundations?
Will you disguise my imperfections,
lie to me about my perfections?
When I'm too fatigued to flower,
will you become a pillow upon my flowerbed?
When my garden is no longer evergreen,
will you sow new seeds of hope.
so my memories blossom forever?

When there are no words
Will you cherish my silence?
When I can no longer walk,
will you lay by my side?
When all lyrics have been written,
when the last poem has been sung,
will you become my poetry -
will you reflect on my legacy?
When my soul is returning to its sender,
will you be my last

Premium Member And Nothing Else Matters-In An Upside Down World

Perhaps in a row they sit on their chair.
At their small object they all like to stare.
In an upside down world, the room’s silence grows.
They sit on their chair, perhaps in a row.

With both thumbs moving, such dexterity!
Faster than cheetahs their thumbs seem to be.
Some with small headphones also are grooving.
Such dexterity with both thumbs moving.

You utter a word; I doubt they will hear.
On screens, words are better than in one’s ear.
Conversing sans screen they might find absurd.
I doubt they will hear you utter a word.

I see them in class not looking at books
in spite of their teachers’ dirtiest looks.
Tell them to stop; they just give you their sass,
not looking at books! I see them in class.

Their phones are in use all hours of the day.
Do not even try to take them away!
You might be accused of phone/child abuse.
All hours of the day their phones are in use.

I see moms alone with a child that’s hurt,
Not even giving their child some comfort.
Nothing else matters but their precious phone.
With a child that’s hurt I see moms alone.

The cell phone’s their all - their almighty God.
Anything else for them must be a fraud.
Some only text you; they won’t take your call!
Their almighty God - the cell phone’s their all.

When did this begin? Bringing phones in school?
Kids who don’t have them are thought not too cool.
To take students’ phones is likened to sin.
Bringing phones in school. . .When did this begin?

A time and a place there is for all things.
I hate at the movies when a phone rings!
Cell phones at dinner? An utter disgrace!
There is for all things a time and a place.

Sadly, much worse, there’s texting while driving.
If you’re not trying to be surviving,
do it! Your next ride might be in a hearse.
There’s texting while driving, sadly much worse.

Nothing else matters to addicts, I know.
*Every cloud has a silver lining though -
Less actual talking with those mad as hatters!
To addicts I know, nothing else matters.

Premium Member Nothing To Write About

I would like to talk about "nothing"
It is a most peculiar word
I have heard it used so often
The way it's used is often absurd
I'm told there's "nothing" to worry about
Yet I worry about "nothing" for days
I try to stop worrying about "nothing"
and why "nothing" inside my head ever stays

There isn't another word for "nothing"
With "nothing" only "nothing" can compare
When a woman speaks about all her clothing
How is it possible she has "nothing" to wear
When she tells me I'm "nothing" short of amazing
What in the world does that "nothing" mean
If that "nothing" is really something
If I look will that "nothing" be seen

We are told that everything comes from "nothing"
A "nothing" theory that lacks evidence
A Big Bang and a boom from a "nothing"
If an explosion is something
Is that why "nothing" makes sense
So if "nothing" in the end becomes "something
Then "nothing" is "nothing" at all
Just a word that causes confusion
"nothing" can be big or quite small

If "nothing" can separate us from God's love
Please keep "nothing" away from me
For if I settle for "nothing"
It will separate me from eternity
So you can see why "nothing" is a problem
I am "nothing" if I can't be me
"Nothing" in the end is perplexing
For "nothing" is a mystery!

Nothing More To Say

I've nothing more to say
I think I've said it all
I'm out of thoughts and clever rhymes
no words I can recall

I've covered every season
of life and in the earth
I've written about love and loss
and death and even birth

I think I brought you laughter
I know I drew some tears
I've done the very best I could
recounting all the years

So is there any reason
to write another line?
Will you even take a look
or shall you just decline?

All the best is written
All the rest is done
I'm much too weary to repeat
a race already run

A hundred years from now
will my poetry be read?
Will it survive the centuries
long after I am dead?

It's not for me to know
nor do I really care
I put my words down line by line
for dreamers everywhere

I've nothing more to say
I shall not even try
and with these last few sentences
I bid you all goodbye

Nothing But Words

Sometimes words just aren't enough
to capture all of the magic that surrounds
the spill of the rainbow after a good storm
the twinkles that resound from a caring eye
the lick of the lips before that first kiss

resplendent, sumptuous, beheld
my mind wanders the forest that is me
searching for what now remains
the faults and the fissures
the fallen, and the free

the leaves fall one by one
opulent amber hues abound
ne'er is there a sound

no words but the beauty still exists

there's a rustle in the air
the bark begins to bleed
will the words spill out and breathe

I hesitate,
a chestnut gallops by
smiles and winks her eye

the words now come
flowing with matchless grace
stunning, wondrous, sweet
adorning a remarkable face

Premium Member Nothing Gold Stays

Who can resist the strangulating grip of time?
That which exists today may not be there tomorrow
Like shooting stars which vanish in the flicker of an eye
Life comes and goes quicker than a darting arrow

The only constant in life is its inconstancy
With time, even our existence turns a myth
As every sunrise follows a sundown,
Each birth leads to an eventual death

In the fluidity of time, we are in a state of flux
So don’t obdurately hold anything in your arms
Instead loosen your grip and let things go
With the ease of water through your open palms

Every lovely flower that blossoms once
Fades in time and eventually turns to brown
Even a leaf that clings tenaciously to the tree
When autumn blasts strike, falls down

Impermanence being in the grand design of things
To nothing in this world, one can permanently cling
So, willingly give way to herald in the new,
As autumn leaves cannot be laundered for the spring!

Nothing Is More Powerful Than Love

I am seated in a bed-like rock
Under the foothills this is a single block

The Sun rises behind my back
Though I face hills in the west, its rise I could track

The dawn delightfully unfurl
Mother nature decorates herself, like a girl

The valley is full of greenery
This is a soul soothing summer scenery

Flies are flying in group
With joy and strength, to recoup

Honey bees are busy flying from one to other flower
A fresh flower spreads the fragrance in the air

A group of sparrows fly at a low height
Jubilantly enjoying the new light

A tiniest sparrow dances by jumping from one leaf to the other of a plant
On seeing this, I too wish to jump out of joy, like an infant

Peacocks register their scream from a nearby place
I could hear well, as this area is ruled by peace

From a distant rock, a pair of peacock looks
Displaying the richest colors of their outlooks

Birds potentially program their offspring by singing to their eggs, at a short distance
One may think that they raise the voice with a grievance

Before me, a rabbit runs ruthlessly
Forgetting self, I sit here like lifelessly

Fight of monkeys upon trees on the top of the hill, comes like a melody
Free for all, as the whole range is under His custody

Clouds try to attract my attention with an array of colors
Peace as the Prince on the stage, countless others are actors

Breeze blows as if to say she is the most adorable among all
Of course, choosing the one among all is hard to tell

This is a mind moving morning
In my life, this day is a fine inning

My heart desires to lie under this foothill
But my soul is not full

as my mind yearns for my love
Of course, this place is like a paradise, as above

If I am to cherish my love even in a paradise,
the power of love, you may be pleased to praise

Though I stay away at a far off place
The feelings of romance runs like a race

To live here, to the God, I shall be abundantly faithful
But to conquer my soul, other than such love, nothing is more powerful !

She Is Nothing Like the Stars

She Is Nothing Like The Stars

She is nothing like Sirius,
But her eyes are the bluest blue.
Nor is she like Antares
Yet her skin has a warm, soft hue.
Her hair is like the golden Milky Way
Draped across the dark sky,
Unlike all the spectral jewels ever
Through the telescope spied.
Would she be like the Sun
I could not gravitate to her more
And still be as distant.
Like a wave never greeting the shore,
Her eyes never meeting mine.

She is nothing like the stars, except...
Expressed in time,
Light years away.

Premium Member Fading Away To Nothing

I feel like I am fading away to nothing,
blending into an ordinary crowd,
where no one even notices me anymore.
Like an April snowflake, freely falling, landing on warm cement.
And, fading away with a short existence.

Or, an August raindrop in a passing storm,
dripping onto dry, weathered porch steps,
soaking into the wood grain, absorbing the very life of me.
Eventually leaving nothing behind.

Or like autumn leaves,
that once shined like gold in an October sunset,
now slowly withering and drifting to the ground
only to be raked aside,
or blown away to who knows where.

I feel like I am fading away to nothing.
A reflection in a mirror, that I can no longer recognize.
I don't want to be forgotten, especially to myself.
Like a lost spirit that no one can see, or even knows exists.
I'm dying out like the last spark of a flickering candle.
And evaporating into thin air like melting wax.

Like a piece of colored paper left in the sun's rays,
losing it's original brilliance, day by day,
the longer it is left there,
like no one cares about it anymore.
Or more like a bright helium balloon that escaped
from a crying child's hand
drifting away and out of my reach, gone with the wind
And, disappearing into the clouds forever.
Fading away to nothing.

Premium Member Nothing Left

Chorus:

If lonely is a prison...
Lord knows I've done my time
From my lying destination,
To the truth I've left behind

There's another losing diamond,
In every card I'm dealt
I'll be holding on to nothing
Until there's nothing left

Verse:

Every word my mama said
Keeps exploding in my head
Son, it's not too late to turn around

Remembering...when my daddy left
With all those promises...unkept
Me and my old man..... share common ground

Bridge:

Silence is the hammer...
Memories are the nails...
Every path to freedom
Becomes an empty trail

Heartache is the music
Every day... the fear
Too early for confession
Too late to form a tear

Chorus:

If lonely is a prison...
Lord knows I've done my time
From my lying destination
To the truth I've left behind......

Premium Member Nothing shines endlessly

Do not fall in love with people like me. I will take you to museums, and parks, and monuments, and kiss you in every beautiful place, so that you can never go back to them without tasting me like blood in your mouth. I will destroy you in the most beautiful way possible. And when I leave, you will finally understand, why storms are named after people. Caitlyn Siehl

In this episode of suppression,
I refuse to speak, as you know
words could flow in sorrows.

But a melancholic mind
is the nemesis of a poet.
Forcing fingers to bleed
raindrop tears into ink,
where metaphors are an adversary
and you don't need to confess
that there are no more verses
that can be called sacred
when crimson waterfalls flow in veins,
so, I curse my merciless muse,
which ignores the heart's plea

..... yet, I wonder if there can be love without poetry.

Once, when my garden nourished snowdrops,
upon the arrival of robins in spring,
I was your golden orb,
but you no longer bask in my glory
and impatient crows follow my footsteps.
Now that you've bloomed,
it feels as though my purpose
has been abruptly stolen.
I curse those premeditated prophecies,
spoken from an omniscient tongue,
so I wander like Cupid without arrows,
mute like a flutist without a flute.
Hoping to sleep forever in an asylum
of wildflowers you have left behind.

Upon the return of silence,
I'm no longer the thorns upon your rose stalk.
Once strong branches reveal empty nests,
as my roots become exposed over cold earth.
covered with autumn leaves -
I feel their anguish as the breeze
scatters them under oblivious feet.

You were forbidden,
but I was not the only sinner.
Never powerful enough to
become the ringmaster in your circus -
I hope you never tame.

I'm trapped within an aura,
resembling cremated affirmations -
yet, I know my spirit will ignite again.

I remember when you
only saw the moon,
so I paraded for you
a galaxy of stars.
But just like planktons
on a beach - nothing shines endlessly.

Premium Member Russian Evil Will Thrive If Good Men Do Nothing

The west went in guns blazing to help their fellow man
In Syria against the Islamic State and in Iraq and Afghanistan
They brought an end to a campaign of terror and a killing spree
And made the world a better place and safe for everybody.

So why in God's name is the civilised world, just standing by?
While thousands of innocent men, women and children die
What is it about Russia, that murdering terrorist state?
Are we just going to look away, leaving them to their fate?

Ukraine is running out of fresh water, they have no electricity
While the Russians carry on firing missiles, indiscriminately
And committing atrocities that would make a grown man cry
A harsh winter is fast approaching and many people will die.

Why are NATO and the civilised west worried about escalation?
While Russia carries on pulverising that peace loving nation
Enough is enough, NATO needs to put boots on the ground
And rain down hellfire on that Russian scum, round after round.

The west is sending arms and humanitarian aid to Ukraine
But dragged their feet when they requested a fighter plane
Vladimar Putin growls like a dog and the west backs away
We shouldn't listen to his rantings, he must be made to pay.

Ukraine got rid of all nuclear weapons with the fall of the iron curtain
I bet they wished that they hadn't given them up of that I am certain
Because the yellow backed Russian scum would never have invaded
And their threat to world peace would never have escalated.

Premium Member Nothing Remains

You died.
And nothing happened.

No whisper.
No light.
No shift in the air.
Only the room—
exactly as it was,
minus you.

I stood there,
expecting something.
A crack in the fabric.
A sign.
A sound.
Anything.

But all I found
was stillness
carrying on
without effort,
without care.

They spoke your name
as if it held weight.
But even that faded
before the echo could finish.

No afterlife.
No message.
No you.

Just a body
emptied
and a silence
that doesn’t remember
what it’s missing.

Grief isn’t proof of love.
It’s the body glitching,
trying to react
to an absence
too complete to comprehend.

You are gone.
And the world
never noticed.

And soon,
so will I.
So will all of us.
Forgotten,
unmarked,
folded back into nothing.
Exactly where we came from.

Premium Member Nothing To Share

Desperate my heart when I long for you
In unknown realms remembering your face
As timeless tears fall, emotions are blue
From days and nights of love's fleeting embrace
My heart will forever wander alone
Tightly tethered to a life that has gone
Taken in the night with nary a moan
Only the quiet of death's breaking bond
To find your beauty floating among stars
With my dreams remembered which came in moonlight
When we danced with strings from Spanish Guitars
And cradled in arms of lover's delight
Silence is haunting with empty despair
No room to love again, nothing to share

Nothing Compares To Freedom

TO THE RULING CLASSES

It’s been seven months and fifteen days
Since you took our freedom away

At home each every night, stay in all day
Since you took my work away

Since the shut down I can do whatever I want
Long as I don’t open my front door

You can eat your dinner in a fancy restaurant
But nothing, I said nothing can take away your choose
‘Cause nothing applies
Nothing applies to you

It’s been lonely here all by myself
Like a bird without a song
Takes a politician to kill our freedom of will
Tell me baby: where did we go wrong

You can sniff the hair of every girl you want
Cause the media will give you a pass

Ho! Ho! Ho!Ho!

Went to the Doctor and guess what he told me
 Fauci he told me
Don’t wear a mask... No! The mask is cool!
And he’s no fool

But it don’t apply
Nothing applies to you

                ........................

All the flowers that I planted for me and my loved ones
All died when our free trade was shut down

I know free choice and care is not always easy
But I’m willing to give it another try

Because nothing compares to FREE!
Nothing compares to FREE!

Nothing compares to FREE!
