Nothing To Write About

I would like to talk about "nothing"
It is a most peculiar word
I have heard it used so often
The way it's used is often absurd
I'm told there's "nothing" to worry about
Yet I worry about "nothing" for days
I try to stop worrying about "nothing"
and why "nothing" inside my head ever stays

There isn't another word for "nothing"
With "nothing" only "nothing" can compare
When a woman speaks about all her clothing
How is it possible she has "nothing" to wear
When she tells me I'm "nothing" short of amazing
What in the world does that "nothing" mean
If that "nothing" is really something
If I look will that "nothing" be seen

We are told that everything comes from "nothing"
A "nothing" theory that lacks evidence
A Big Bang and a boom from a "nothing"
If an explosion is something
Is that why "nothing" makes sense
So if "nothing" in the end becomes "something
Then "nothing" is "nothing" at all
Just a word that causes confusion
"nothing" can be big or quite small

If "nothing" can separate us from God's love
Please keep "nothing" away from me
For if I settle for "nothing"
It will separate me from eternity
So you can see why "nothing" is a problem
I am "nothing" if I can't be me
"Nothing" in the end is perplexing
For "nothing" is a mystery!

This nothing other than a brilliant brilliant poem! I read it a few times with a big smile, enjoying the verses. I never seem to be able to meet these women with "nothing" to wear, cause I am always on the lookout for them! A7, and a favorite for sure!

I'm so lost right now, looking for the comment I left you about loving this poem and I found nothing. I wrote nothing - I said something to someone, maybe aloud to someone here. I must have read your nothing. Anyway, if someone could write music, I think certain artists would love to sing this. So clever ... CayCay (Joe Walch - is he alive?) (what did you do with my previous comment? surely, I am not the problem.)

A 7. "Nothing"is really hard to define, for when one says we're "nothing", our parents did begin with something!?? A very creative write about "nothing".

Coming from nothing isn't a problem for me because we confer meaning by just saying it, through language. There is the difficulty within the scientific community of defining nothing technically, which is what we need to remember when we say the universe came from nothing. But it's a good poem, Richard, definitely! soz about me...

Rick, I can't believe you wrote a poem with nothing to say lol. I've read the word nothing so often in this that it's become meaningless, almost as if there's nothing in my brain lol......... not that there is very often anyway lol. Take care, Richard

Clever clever clever, I see you have almost had nothing but jokes in the comments below so I will stay out of that train of thought. What you have done is highlighted one of those most peculiarly used words in the dictionary. extremely enjoyable poem.

lol lol This is wonderful! Very clever, taking nothing and twisting and turning, nothing to something.. Nothing, has become something, from nothing, thats important, for something.. I have nothing else to say.. But, I hate nothing, I need something.. Very nice, you made nothing, came to life, from nothing...
