Cesarean birth

a newborn hugs his mom's face -

his cheek pressed to hers. . .

pulled away from her, he screams

some bonds cannot be broken

Fake News - Real Storm

Wicked news flash - torrential storm - Purple
streaks of confusion striking. Violent grey
clouds spinning its evil. Hatred scattered
in shreds of hail. Waves pounding
against our aching skulls. Who
can live dangerously and ride
their storm. To roll with the
thunder and never see blue
sky. These puddles of
tears splashing out of
fear. All that made a
clear day is spiralling
out of control. How?
can we keep calm.
Wake from this
never ending
storm. Brace

Premium Member The C Bomb

there he was
in his white coat
afraid of our reaction
as he dropped the C word

we watched it bounce off the floor
and hang there suspended
no one reaching to grab it
we all sat there with a blank stare

pretending to be deaf
frozen in disbelief
biting our tongue
holding our breath

limp arms down our sides
it couldn’t be
how could it be
wanting to unhear the word

but there it was
in all its ugliness
in the middle of the room
while the coat made its exit
that throbbing C word
loaded and sobering
resonating in our ears
leaving us in shock

BREAKING NEWS

We have breaking news right here on the soup!
You can travel back in time if you write about poop.
Back to sixth grade is where we’ll get sent.
There is a time machine waiting that’ll send back our scent.

We can giggle at farts that we rip in the hall.
Or maybe grease one out when we pick up a ball.
Back to sixth grade? Where do I sign?
That would be better than reading poems that whine all the time.

From the seat of our bikes, we’d pass gas all around.
A smellier bunch would never be found.
Just don’t lite a match, it could blow down your door.
We all could read comics about Iron Man and Thor.

For a seat back in time, a stinker I’ve got.
If it’s all about poop, then I’ll give it a shot.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this rhyme I’ve sent forth.
It’s a fart just for you, sent down from the North.

What time is love?

Poem of the day - 5th January 2025

I checked my watch and checked my phone,
but everyone’s in a different zone,
Eastern, Central, Mountain, Pacific,
maybe I should be more specific,
the dollar says in god we trust,
but love thy neighbour bit the dust,
I wasn't feeling all too great,
after that late night altered state,
shining my leather mourning shoes,
watching weather and breakfast news,
a gunman shot the truth today,
the eagle had been blown away
so had the snow white turtle dove,
won’t somebody tell me, what time is love?

Trump's been awarded

BUT which seven wars!

Nature's News

The only news these days I need
Is sung by birds in high top trees
In the middle of the forest deep
That's the only news I need

Tells me all I need to know
Natures plans in rays of hope
All the news that's fit to run
Singing of seasons to come

The outside world can have its faults
No need for me to know them all
Only the good news that nature brings
That's the only news I need

Bad News

When the Doctors exam was through

he said I got good news and bad news its true

        You've chosen the worst

        to hear about first

they're gonna name this disease after you!

Premium Member A Good News Day

The sun rose this morning
Hip-Hip-Hooray!
Things are going our way

Frost and drought
Did not destroy crops
There’s food for the world – Lick your chops

A truce finally came in the Mideast
Soldiers are coming home
No more to war will they roam

Cures have been found for Ebola and cancer
All who were ill are now well
We’ll never again hear the death knell

Washington D.C. is rejoicing
A new president won election
The economy is headed in a better direction

All who want jobs are now working
Teachers, nurses, street cleaners too
Accolades abound for this major breakthrough

Harmony prevails throughout the world
All religions and cultures have united as one
No one need carry a gun

Environmental protection efforts are working
Let’s rejoice with a sip of wine
Prayers have been answered by a Creator divine

...She is a ten year old girl.
Her mother?...
...A fine example
for her daughter.

...He is a father a husband.
He was a soldier...
...sent in harms way.
They are a family proud....

...What happened
is everyone's nightmare....

...This brave man
was badly wounded...
while defending his country....

...He survived,
the worse...
a head injury.

Did he give up...
...lie in a bed,
expect to be spoon fed?

No one would of blamed him...
...certainly not me.
He did not give up!

...The heavy fog that now
lays inside his brain...
...is just another battle.

He wins....
...Was he the hero?
Yes most definitely.

Ah but his daughter,
...ten years of wisdom
says this...
"When my daddy walks
he uses my shoulders."

...Her father,
the soldier...head shaven
walks using his daughter young...
...in front of him, to walk
to where he needs to go.

Ah but his daughter...
...ten years of wisdom
says this...
"I love my daddy
he is my hero!"

I see more than
one hero, that young girl
just oozing with love,
that little girl is my hero!

Still in my heart
I hear
"i love my daddy
he is my hero!"

I just want to hug her.
At ten years young
she is a soldiers rock!

He saved a cat form Old Lady Moores’ burning barn, just the other day.

Lake Breaking News

Early this morning, there was a robbery
A turtle mugged a snail down by the pond
The shell the turtle jacked, was off the poor snail's back
and when he turned around, the thief was gone

He went down to the station, after much deliberation
And told the cops his story at last.
With such a keen depiction, they asked for a description
But, the snail said it happened much to fast

Blues News

There was a miserable husband of McNigh
Who had a tendency to frequently cry.
His wife filed for divorce
Causing him no remorse.
Now he’s happy as a drunk drinking rye.

I Received Bad News Today, Reckoning

I received bad news today,
Rather, the bad news I sought.
Thirty years ago, we played.
Attention turned; you walked away.
	Divorce ended, so I thought.

Love was stretched thin to forgive.
You tried to ease me from my pain.
As friends we could never live.
Let’s start new and not relive.
Better move on and try again.

I received bad news today,
Rather, the bad news I sought.
I hoped you’ld be on your way.
But now I am sad to say,
	Your ambitions have all rot.

The news is not well received,
Deep saddness from what I heard.
How will your children grieve;
How will your parents grieve;
The verdict is made and served.

Let’s pray for our reckoning,
	Before passing we are blessed
Summoned to God’s beckoning,
Humbled before our passing,
And receive our freedom as promised.

I received bad news today,
Or maybe it’s not so bad,
For the love in what we pray,
Might be answered someday,
	for blessings we never had.

Go in peace,
Love and forgive.
Pray for His Mercy.
By faith in him so live.
John 3:16-21

Note: The greatest thing I ever heard came from the lips of an incarcerated felon accepting Jesus Christ who said: “I thank God for prison because now I am truly free.”
