When Life Is A Meme

like a selfie
that wasn’t taken
I’m the guy in the street

I know
you’re captioning me
from your side of the road

and the shops
with their massive eyes
are making me too viral

Fingertips click a
desperate breakbeat
as eyes glaze over
in blue light baptism
please overwhelm me

Binary jungle,
you glowing cesspit
through the clipping
curtain echoes a choir
of post-post ironic
agoraphobics.

Dopamine is a myth,
an expired meme
deemed mega cringe
Let the file rot into
informational abscess

Here we all wait before
Heaven's blockchained gate
tired of partaking into
a satire so removed from
a cogent solution,
It is simply void.

Here is coldest oblivion in
this stupid cyborg machine,
but the world is so
Y2K heat death-core
Whatever that means

It turned a generation
made us abandonware
Just to feed us nostalgia
for times when we
would bother to care.

I Meme, Therefore I Am

forgot what I had set out to remember
when my deconstructed self
discovered there was no authentic anything
saw through it all every granule
how we became the unwitting tools
of smarter people who really weren't smart enough
concluding if this is life
you can imagine what death is like
I can tell you this much
we are alone in this galactic theme park
alone as a lizard on a sunny rock
what percent of the totality
of all there is in all the universe
do we perceive
and what do you see with nothing absent
this question failed to sweep through
the bum fight arenas
where they need permission to think
no escaping that free means battle
which goddammit means not free
shouting to anyone my agent will sue
as the lines grew longer
and the bread grew shorter
the sly ones were trampled by their own venality
order was quickly restored destroyed restored etc.
the pace was feverish so were the faces
on State TV at 6 and 11
self denialists saw their heads roll down the lane
towards the ten pins at Bowl N' Boogie
in an educated kind of idiocy
for which there is no help
a scandal of poor illumination
you never know which is the foreground
and which is the background
discovering heaven is not overhead
OK I’d better let up on the enthusiasm
too many grimacing faces in the popcorn
too many bushwhacking gargoyles
plump like 3-D bratwurst
in this Biblical sauerkraut mamodrama
making the world lounge safe
for my blindfolded baptism
for both the seen and the unseen
beneath the scum covered water
on a need to know basis
I now reveal a deadly secret
there is direction there is magnitude
densities and rarities
we mime we imitate
we steal what we are
and are beaten with sticks
for having a mind and knowing it
I meme therefore I am
Defection Control had him by the throat
blow a kiss to the camera
it's all just a really big index

Lost To the Meme

The masters of mad mountains,
the dark dwellers of deep,
the misty myth of memory
slips into soulless sleep.
The timeless, tangled tree-tops,
the perfect placid plains,
the eyes of heirs eternal,
now bore the barraged brain.
Amidst the active androids,
sharp, scintillating screens,
the lore of lasting legends
just melds to mindless memes…

Premium Member A Prime Time Rhyme Meme Theme

Some of those closest to me
are concerned my poetry
does not rhyme
every time.

I do not complain,
but try to explain
that total symmetry
is not important to me.

The meaning of a verse
is, for better or worse,
the point of a piece.
Rhymes are just grease.

Mental lubrication to let words slide by,
while I try
to impart a certain feeling,
repulsive or appealing.

This frees myself and my reader from the
tight restraint of what seems sing-song.
But maybe just this once,
I will kind of go along.

Stupid Meme

The Troglodyte one percent to the majority. Meme

That which is an attractor has 4 legs
Two wings, two hands
and a steering wheel for manning the front wheeler

The spin is of significance for the difference it presents
between inheritance and the drives it demands;
-For passage and safety, along the way
We stumble upon a friend-
a bifurcation in the wings
Now the dance will be seen from under the rim of the class-holder's belt
Under the suspect supposition
That you yourself have entered without permission
And God forbid that the class should halt!
Unfortunately, the best way to learn most lessons is to be lacerated by the sheer presence of doubt

Now quaint in your belly
The butterflies prance to a digested meat
Which glances from across the table back to you to see
If you're still not seated among the other guest's genetic dynasty
Because even the strangest meals,
In lieu of what language they speak,
Feel themselves also to be in the meat locker
Here, with ME

And who is ME?
A wall after 1, 2, 3
A maze, a phase, a page, a blank
Shot! Fired! Seams, screens, screams
In the dark, a mark, a part that desires to see it all
For what it is, what it walks, talks, barks and sparks;
The word you haven't seen
A dream you have yet to dream
A pencil test to write a life itself a wild guess
And in the crumbling mess, pick up the ashes
All to send it back
In masses
To the next

Today I Lost My Meme

Today I lost my MeMe

It hurts my heart to even say

My Meme was so important to me
and my little brother

She took care of us whenever
we were not with my mother

See Meme lived with me since I was born

She has seen me grow and become this strong

Meme got sick and went to the doctors

the drs tried their best

He said maybe it was time for Meme to rest

I didn't know what that meant but meme understood

Heaven was calling her Because she wasn't feeling good

She loved my jokes
and always listened

She was my Meme
now she's a star that glistens

My Mom was crying when she told me

But she gave me a big hug so tight

And she explained that Meme is now a star

above the earth so bright

When someone we love becomes an angel

A star is their only way
to show us they can see

But now that I see her star so high

I know she is still with me

With words that we utter we wind through the day
Mortal matter we mutter as mind mules decay
Exports of odd thoughts to extremes across seas
The relief of belief spreading memes like disease

By parchment, by paper or carved into stone
By improbable chance or by one glance alone
By smoke, sound or signal, or flashing like light
Streaking into the heavens and into the night
Speeding softly unsealed and scattered for years
Seeding stellar strewn fields of celestial spheres

Leaking into the fabric that permeates space
The one tiny echo of one human race
