Who was this white haired Claus
With rabbit teeth?
Carrying a ton of peanuts
For all to eat.

Dragged in a sleigh pulled
By Agnew and Nixon,
Who ran right beside
Donnar and Blitzen?

He circled Camp David,
A fast fly by;
With lox and bagels for
the Jewish guys.

A carpenters’ pencil
Was poised by his ear,
And boxes of nails dangled,
From the gear in the rear.

Why! Its Jolly Ole Carter Claus
Draped in menorahs.
Handing out home plans to
the Arab before us.

Visions of world peace
Danced in his head;
As, he flew straight to Afghanistan
‘Fore noggin hit bed.

When down from the sky
In the form of deer dung,
Fell fruit tree seeds
Too be sown in the sun.

And, as CarterClaus’ whip cracked
O’er Nixon's ear,
As Agnew blanched,
His eyes filling with tears.

Droplets hit sand with
A plop and a splatter
’Pon the fruit tree seeds with
Nary a clatter.

The desert grew green;
Trees sprouted and grew;
Hearts filled with wonder,
Bellies with stew.

Homes were rebuilt,
as before the fall,
Cook fires were lit.
Children grew tall.

And Ole Carter Claus
Flew home in a daze.
Passing out sandwiches
That Roslyn had made.

Premium Member Expect This of Me

So, I am a liberal, and you should expect this of me
To be one who looks forward with a new approach,
Thinking outside of the box, moving progressively.

One inclined to play the game, seldom ever to coach,
I check out the statements from the various media
To be one who looks forward with a novel approach

You can expect me to come up with a new idea,
My opinions are many and open to expression
I check out the statements from the various media.

I am quick to make a most thoughtful confession
I will always stand up for the underdog, the victim,
My opinions are many and open to expression

Let’s fix it if something’s wrong with the system
I cannot wallow in criticism without any solution,
I will always stand up for the underdog, the victim

I’m a tree-hugger and an enemy of rank pollution
So, I am a liberal, and you should expect this of me
I cannot wallow in criticism without any solution,
Thinking outside of the box, moving progressively.

Cringy Liberal

This poem is written by a 12 year old writer. I am only the teacher

 Cringy liberal
Waves hands
Yells
Screams about feminist issues
Talks about Bernie Sanders
Talks about legalizing weed
Gets offended easily
Yells about their self diagnosed PTSD and Claustrophobia
Tells you that you are a terrible person and compares you to Joseph Stalin or some other dictator.
Screams at you for not being vegan
Tells you that socialism is a good idea
You tell her that The Nazi’s were socialists
Liberal stutters and doesn’t know w
hat to say.
Finally says a really bad comeback
You tell the liberal to stop talking and that she’s irritating
You tell them that you don’t want to talk to them anymore
Liberal keeps yelling
Liberal tells everyone you know that you’re a terrible person and makes up some lies about you
You talk to your friends
Your friends believe the liberal
They stop talking to you
They ignore you
Basically what happened to me like two weeks ago

In Liberal Land

In liberal land the poppies grow
Though not too long for soon they're smoked
How else can they maintain a belief
That's mired in fantasy and grief

They have consistency of mind
Their brains malfunction all the time
But don't let politics revolt
Inside they house a heart of cold

Their way of thinking was set forth
In a fairy tale of yore
Where nothing was as it appeared
And playing cards could speak and hear

They've dwelled inside that rabbit hole
Since long before Frank's polio
Where common sense is a disease
And all that counts is feeling pleased

With how they've been so kind and bold
In carving life from helpless souls
Who none the wiser cast their votes
For shamans dressed in phony hope

It took a child to bare the king
For none dare speak while witnessing
The simple truth before their eyes
Their brains whitewashed through guile and lies

They seized the schools, the bench, the arts
Upturned the vendor's applecart
Til none were left to pay the rent
Totalitarian government

Premium Member Conservative Hubris, Liberal Guilt - You Decide

My friends I’ve had a great idea,
I have to let you in on,
I can’t believe that no one else
Has thought of this before.

You all know how the NRA
Says guns have made us safer?
Well this should make the rabid cheer
Saint Brian has the floor!

You’d think that someone else would think
To just extend their logic
To bring about world peace perhaps
Would only take a day.

Just give a portable A-Bomb
To each and every voter,
Perhaps the Congress would respect
What people have to say.

We’ve all grown tired of hairless apes
Attacking like piranhas
The moment that a party man
Shows sign of intellect.

They dare suggest that all our woes
From highways down to healthcare
Can somehow be directly caused
By government defect?

It’s not our government at fault
But jerks avoiding taxes,
That corporations have a voice
Is just their latest ploy.

The fact that profit trumps all jobs
Means workers have less money
To buy the products they create
The nation’s fate a toy.

These men, these so-called patriots
Who hate the poor that feed them,
Suppress their votes at every turn,
Mass pillage is their plan.

But so seductive is their path
The poor think they are heroes,
Cannot appreciate the odds,
Confused by devil’s clan.

And every day the gulf between
The rich and poor gets wider,
What’s left to think except the rich
Are bound for suicide.

While they themselves may miss the heat
Live high on hog’s best tokens,
Their children certainly will not
Escape the bloody tide.

And God, I hate to say so but
I fear we eat our children,
Blind faith in technological
Advance could be our end.

A reverence for Nature has
Just vanished from our culture,
The only truth remaining is…
‘Just how much can I spend?’

Premium Member The Liberal Pledge of Allegiance

I, ex-conservative, do swear
The liberal view beyond compare,
Obama’s term, all heaven knows,
Like sweet lush grass between our toes,
Conservatives of good intent
As rare as bread from heaven sent.
I kneel before my liberal friends
And pledge my heart to make amends,
You stood by me when still a geek
Forgiveness mine, no need to seek,
Helped me to see the longer view,
Rejoin what Nixon split in two,
Let all of us forget our pride
And bury hatchets far and wide.
Let politics work as it should,
With give and take, sweet brotherhood.

Premium Member Not Conservative Or Liberal

Not Conservative or Liberal
By Franklin Price
1/31/2016

Not Conservative or Liberal by definition cannot be.
The former wants tradition and the latter change to see.
The world is not the way it was, this country's not the same
As even twenty years ago, yet both parties play the game.

The population's doubled, at least it's nearly so.
We're fighting war on terror now; not a country that we know.
Manufacturing mostly off shore, computers run this place,
Old jobs are few and far between, education's a disgrace.

The expense of staying healthy is prohibitive today.
No family doctor cures, expensive specialists the way.
Christian preachers millionaires; now what could that be for?
Christ taught to help the needy and give something to the poor

The almighty dollar, is the God, of many I must say,
There's panic when the market falls 'cause God might go away.
Change has reared it's ugly head . It has since World War Two
We cannot turn the clock back now; it's quite impossible to do.

We need to work together from our Constitution's base
That's why our founding fathers put this paper in its place
Interpreted much differently, as required over time
To not do so for changes now would be a federal crime

The Constitution, by definition, is the tradition we should use
As the basis for the changes we must make or we will lose
This great country, so confused, maybe has lost its way
We the people, who are the government, must vote and have a say

Now is the time to be involved. Iowa's the first to test us all
We can sit home in PJ's or get ready for our call
Can't keep our voices quiet; must rant and rave and fuss
We must cast our vote when our time comes, or jump off the moving bus.

Premium Member Liberal Breakfast

When the bacon began to fry turning sides burning
the sausage jumped of the pan when the egg squealed

It was then you saw the beef stirring underneath surprised
behind a joint the fat was cooked just right bubbling

Dripping boiling lard this greasy mess left two feet
something was added pepper sprayed in wording

Peeling the onion the salt dropped into the pot spiced
naked to the bone you were caught red handed

You're in boiling water now deeply stuck up or down system
where the temperature is gauged within a stew brewing

Which cut would you like to begin with exposed
because I smell something toasting in front of the grill

Premium Member Being a Liberal

I am so proud to be a liberal--
Despite those who disparage the fact,
Because I support medical care for all
And help for those who have lacked.
I have sympathy for the downtrodden
Want the finest education for our kids
I welcome to America the refugees
And those who are down on the skids.
I believe in freedom and opportunity
No problem when government helps out
For we the people are the goverment
Helping each other is what it's all about.

Change Is Coming

I met a woman fleeing from the triad.
Crossing on a ferry, far from her home
She told me of the life she once had.
In Bosphorus, struggling to hold on.

Her hair was wrapped in a headscarf.
Dreamed about the changes coming.
with a shy smile and freckles spark
the stigma the held began revealing.

That bravest of desire to gain freedom.
Where family dignity does not agree.
That would see her being disowned.
Left to live by myself as a divorcee.

Urbanize, families struggling to manage.
Change is coming by liberal ideas.
within the institution of marriage.
Even in the vast conservative places.

Have Petty old status blowing in the wind.
Freedom has a sense of empowerment.
Familiar friends are left behind.
By subversive acts crossing the continent.

Premium Member A Liberal Viewpoint

To hold a liberal viewpoint is a good thing
For we liberals believe in our inalienable rights,
Rights to “the pursuit of happiness” we bring.

Freedom with responsibility, a good feeling,
Opportunity with civility is worthy of its fights
To hold a liberal viewpoint is a good thing.

For America, her flag, her anthem we sing
Proudly supporting her fundamental might,
Rights to “the pursuit of happiness” we bring.

We will not buckle to an insurrectionist wing,
In our belief in liberty for all, we delight,
To hold a liberal viewpoint is a good thing.

When our government is threatened, we sting
And for our freedom of speech, we will fight
Rights to “the pursuit of happiness” we bring.

Our commitments are more than a passing fling
We keep our proven institutional values in sight,
To hold a liberal viewpoint is a good thing
Rights to “the pursuit of happiness” we bring.

Premium Member Dreams of a Liberal

I want to trust in other people,
That could be my biggest flaw,
Like God the Father, I am dreaming
All will come to love His law.

It’s sad to see so many people
Bogged down in their Hellish greed,
When fairness can extinguish fires of
Hateful and self-centered need.

The hallmark of a hopeful world is
Surely level playing field,
Not granaries of billionaires with
Monstrous wealth to hold and shield.

Those shouting loudest “I’ve got mine!” are
Likely earth’s most damaged souls,
Their “You get yours!” proves bankruptcy of
Heart, of mind, and servile goals.

Unknowingly they fan Hell’s flames, the
Very source of all their pain,
Pass laws to help them garnish more (while
Blithely drinking their champagne.)

There’s just one ending to this story
If our God exists at all,
Don’t deify a “Golden Calf” if
You propose to serve God’s call.

The Liberal Church Is In Denial

Liberal Christians are in denial,
About how much they validate,
The fundamentalist church old,
Because the same story is told.

I know that the Queen, royalty,
Is a liberal, but that’s irrelevant,
Because history will offer people,
A legacy of the Christian steeple.

When fundamentalist’s err and sin,
They go to their Christian friends bin,
For a validation that’s assumed,
From society’s morals consumed.

Christians back in the seventies,
Were innocent even if felt guilty,
And they would even site the Queen,
To describe their reputation lean.

You can’t do that anymore, thankfully,
Because kids have iPhones, Samsungs,
So communication can made directly,
By the child who may just feel feckly.

I think the state should intervene,
And turn the tables on ancient history,
By dictating to the Anglican world,
Their faith healing rights burled.

It’s not difficult to see and realise,
That fundamentalism goes to far,
So if we set laws for Anglicans,
Then we’ll all be better citizens.

Premium Member I Am An Old-Line Liberal

I am an old-line Liberal and proud of it, too
Though we are told liberalism is a dirty word,
Most Americans stand with me in the queue.

We liberals are willing to stand and be heard,
Always seeking what’s best for the majority
Though we are told liberalism is a dirty word.

Believing equal rights a Constitutional priority
All people should have the same opportunity,
Always seeking what’s best for the majority.

We stand for every citizen’s right to security
Equal pay for equal work; good medical care,
All people should have the same opportunity.

Our agenda demands clean water and pure air
Taking care of natural resources by regulation
Equal pay for equal work; good medical care!

Every child deserves a home, food, education
I am an old-line Liberal and proud of it, too
Taking care of natural resources by regulation
Most Americans stand with me in the queue.

Live and let live without prejudice
I believing in basic freedoms for all,
Being fair and just, principled
Equality being a God-given right,
Regardless of race, creed, or nationality
Always following the Golden Rule,
