A Liberal Viewpoint

To hold a liberal viewpoint is a good thing For we liberals believe in our inalienable rights, Rights to “the pursuit of happiness” we bring. Freedom with responsibility, a good feeling, Opportunity with civility is worthy of its fights To hold a liberal viewpoint is a good thing. For America, her flag, her anthem we sing Proudly supporting her fundamental might, Rights to “the pursuit of happiness” we bring. We will not buckle to an insurrectionist wing, In our belief in liberty for all, we delight, To hold a liberal viewpoint is a good thing. When our government is threatened, we sting And for our freedom of speech, we will fight Rights to “the pursuit of happiness” we bring. Our commitments are more than a passing fling We keep our proven institutional values in sight, To hold a liberal viewpoint is a good thing Rights to “the pursuit of happiness” we bring.

I used John F Kennedy as my favorite Liberal. Yes Rico when you read the many books on JFK starting with High Treason and follow up by researching his assassination and what he stood for you come to realize the depth of Character in the man. Not only did he avoid WW3 by making a decision against Nuking Russia standing up to all his advisors as the lone opinion and making the right decision for all mankind, but for exposing the Tyrants that Rule this world. His courage and resolve standing alone with his brother Bobby caused them both their lives. A man of principal and a great Humanitarian. His affairs with women maybe your referring tp the "Truthful" question in your statement. Show me anyone who hasnt told a lie or has made a mistake in their life. In my opinion he was a great man and History has proven that...

I'm not sure what John F Kennedy, specifically, had to do with this poem, but I stand by what I wrote. Aloha!

If John was in office today I would be a Democrat because as far as how I personally feel he was the most truthful President that ever occupied the White House, he was a great Leader, and A president that will always never be forgotten. God bless you Milton...

Thank you, Michael. I didn't have any particular president in mind when I wrote this poem, but I liked JFK.

Milton your words ring true with Republicans and conservatives as I read this. I always respect peoples opinions, who am I to Judge. The decisions we make in life to follow our affiliations are ours to make, God is the ultimate judge in those decisions. I have close friends on all the Political isles whether Liberal,Independent, Conservative, Progressive. I value people for their kindness and humanitarian efforts more than their Political affiliations. My favorite President was John F Kennedy.

I think that's an admirable way of looking at it, Michael. I lived through the JFK years, and, as well as I recall, he did his best to keep America safe and strong, i.e. the Cuban Missile Crisis. His admin also took a stand against organized crime, as well as I remember, and promoted integration and civil rights. These things I remember.
