Expect This of Me

So, I am a liberal, and you should expect this of me
To be one who looks forward with a new approach,
Thinking outside of the box, moving progressively.

One inclined to play the game, seldom ever to coach,
I check out the statements from the various media
To be one who looks forward with a novel approach

You can expect me to come up with a new idea,
My opinions are many and open to expression
I check out the statements from the various media.

I am quick to make a most thoughtful confession
I will always stand up for the underdog, the victim,
My opinions are many and open to expression

Let’s fix it if something’s wrong with the system
I cannot wallow in criticism without any solution,
I will always stand up for the underdog, the victim

I’m a tree-hugger and an enemy of rank pollution
So, I am a liberal, and you should expect this of me

I feel like it's time I leave that crap to the next generation. I'm too old to do much to solve problems, so I'll have to leave them to my children and grandchildren. Thanks!
