Best Let Down Poems

Let Down One More Time

Relationships can drag us down
They can take us to the ground

Sad how people can make you feel
Finding out what's in their heart for you is not real

They talk a talk you want to hear
You thinking they are sincere.

Really not trying to hide, yet hiding
Really not loving but lying

How will I ever know when the real thing comes along
Without having doubts from being wronged

Walking down this path at times is very hard
Winding down this path that has been so scarred

Afraid to love again not sure I can
Afraid to feel the pain where I have been. .

Get-Down Let-Down

GET-DOWN LET-DOWN

He took rhino muzzle excrescence
For boost of his hoped for tumescence
But in spite of big dose
From a pachyderm‘s nose
It was useless with no acquiescence

The Let Down

"The Let Down"

it’s never
what you think
it’s going to be like,

The Let Down.

rushes in
and hurts like hell.

after a while
the softness
in the heart
falls, while
you look lovingly
over the future
and the pain,
well, that pain,
is the sweetest
pain you ever
felt.

you feed
the love
it wants,
it holds on
for a while
until you're
empty there,

and the fullness
is found in
the spaces
you travel
to turn it
all around.

wings beat
against a nest
like a breast;
the windows
have to open
eventually,

the bird flies
out.

the small universes
bolt holed against
a storm,
the smaller
has to feel by its self;
force majeure

when mutiny
turns around
and the mirror
reflects
a repeating
noun

the mirror
reflects a repeating
noun

Premium Member After Christmas Let Down

The after Christmas “let down” is upon us
All the hype is over, back to life's regular stuff
Let's keep it alive
Let happiness survive
We can do it no matter how difficult or tough

Sharp pain in my side! Big reaction!
For a stabber I'll show no compassion!
I search 'neath my clothes;
Oops! No crime, I suppose
When Sir Underwire is the assassin !

When the Magic Spell Is Broken

When the magic spell is broken and the fog begins to lift.
And the heat of the day breaks through and clarity is no longer adrift.

The damp quickly dries and the light erases doubt.
No longer in the comforting mist things are so clear they shout.

It takes a while to exit that mist when its rose colored glasses you wear.
And its grief you experience because even so you still care.

So stop and smell the roses, feed the soul, sooth the heart.
A new day has dawned and with it a new start.

When the magic spell is broken. - Artimus (C) Susan Manley 11/3/2009

Jesus Said Let Down Your Net

Jesus said; “Let Down Your Net.”

Jesus told his disciples;
"let down your net."
They were amazed how many
 fish they would get.

What happened?
They couldn't explain.
So many fish. were caught.
They were hard to contain.

Peter was astonished,
 and fell on his knees.
Asking Jesus; "Forgive me
 now... please!"

Peter, James and John...
Left everything behind.
Following Jesus was what
 they had in mind.

Perhaps your "net" is empty.
 Jesus says; "Let it down."
There's a great harvest for you.
 Waiting to be found.

Be a fisher for Jesus.
 A fisher of men.
So that others may be saved
 from their sin.

"Come follow me." The master
 is calling for you.
Each step you take toward him...
 He'll take TWO!

Let Down Left On

My first smile
A firerwork in the moon
To return and drown in the
ocean.
As earth was moving
I stayed still
Searching for corners
To lay and to hold.
As stars or rain
My dreams were falling
Upon passengers heads,
Making wird noises on their red
umbrellas.
Every belief gets sacrificed in
the name of present,
While longing for the glory to
attain.
I didn't know.
As every colour may fade
Or fairytales hide disaster,
I was left into this storm alone
To bear the weight of
forgiveness.

She Was Hoping and Got Let Down

No this isn't a poem, but this came from my heart after my boyfriend sleeping with his ex girlfriend.. And I just thought I should share it with the world.
Last night she stayed up all night deciding what she should do.. Because you're a different man behind closed doors. She found out who the real you was.. You cheated, you lied, you talked bad about her, and you took her for advantage. She tried to be so good to you. She loved you... You broke her heart and now she has to move on. She put up with a lot for you, hoping you would change. She did a lot for you, knowing you wouldn't do anything for her. She doesn't wanna go but she just can't stay either. You continuously made the same mistakes and time after time she forgave you and pretended nothing ever happened. She was loyal and probably the best girlfriend you'd ever of had. She wanted a future with you but you ruined that. Your gonna miss the touch of her lips, being in her arms/her being in your arms, swinging with yalls little baby boy, watching him grow up while sharing every moment with her, and its really gonna suck when you realize you just lost everything... She figured after all the stuff yall had been through, you'd step up and be a Man. You'd be good to your woman.. Now it's to late. You went to far this time.. She hopes sleeping with another woman was worth losing the only woman who loved you like she did. She hopes you stay up late at night thinking about how you lost your family.. Your baby and girlfriend.. How you'll never see them again... She hopes you stay up late thinking about all the memories yall shared together, good and bad. Because she's not gonna think about them... She's gonna be positive.. Even if She feels like a piece of her is missing, even if she wants to shut down but she can't she's gotta be strong. She's got a baby to take care of whether she's dying inside or not. She's gonna keep her head up... She deserves to be happy

Why Did You Bother to Come?

You don’t need me
You don’t feed me
And we’re not having fun
Why did you bother to come?

You’re not sharing
You’re not caring
And buy coffee for one
Why did you bother to come?

Did you think it was a holiday
Where you could play
All your little games with me?
Did you think my world so grey
And you will stay as long as everything
Is free?

I’m just coping
I’m still hoping
Your work here is done
Why did you bother to come?

You’re at my table
You watch my cable
It’s my friendship you shun
Why did you bother to come?
Why did you bother to come?
Why did you bother to come?

Rapunzel Let Down Your Hair

A fearless knight in shining armor
On his way back from battle
Outside a maiden's tower
Climbing her long golden hair
Because she is a prisoner in her own castle

Let Down

Why do I move so swiftly
from here to there.
My mind runs amok.
I see what is not true
a message, invisible,
read by my desire
to be in demand.

Let Down

Before I mean it to happen,
 my helpful words
turn into a battle.

You and the world on your side,
me on the other.
Hey, aren’t we supposed to love each other?

Everything I say flies over your head.
It’s one ear out the other.
While tears drip down my cheeks.

Bitter tears because I know it’s my fault.

It is my fault for sticking my head into your business.
Not to mention embarrassing you all the time with my breakdowns.
I wish I could stop them from happening.

But I can’t.
I just can’t.
I’m always such a let down.

Let Down

Why do I move so swiftly
from here to there?
My mind runs amok.
I see what is not true.
A message invisible.
Read by my desire
to be in demand.
