Best King Of The Castle Poems

King of the Castle

A man is king within his home
and women stand in line
to meet his every little need
and bring him food and wine.

I only cook and clean and that
when circumstance dictates
I have to give my ears a rest
from that which irritates.

I have a nagging feeling,
no its really more a drone,
that the weapon used by female kind
persists in every home.

To get some peace and quiet
it’s the male decides each day
to help out with the housework
so the noise will go away.

We have to find our female side
and play this age old game,
we know who the real 'master' is
its always been the same.

A man is king within his home
these words were said in jest
So have no nagging doubts 'man'kind
it's women rule the nest!

I’m not certain when it happens.
When the high fidelity stereo of a youthful past
Drowns in the monophonic static of tomorrow’s responsibilities.
When cowboys and indians or cops and robbers
Become traffic tickets and the politically correct, Native Americans.
When the king of the castle ends up under a mortgage and tax escrow
Owned by bank and government alike for standing strong on a playground boulder.
When the real fear of catching cooties from the girls at recess
Gives way to the real fear of catching cooties from girls in your bedroom.
But it invariably does.
You wake up and notice something interesting about mirrors.
Your reflection isn’t there anymore.
That person doesn’t know that fruity pebbles taste better than bran flakes.
That pens and pencils are made for drawing, not writing checks.
And crayons are better still.
That person has forgotten that mornings are to be celebrated
And bedtime is another way of spelling tantrum time.
That person is a grown up.
And certainly, that person isn’t you.
Are they?

Every Day Is Father's Day

~*~
Father gave me life
his love fills my heart with joy
my Daddy is best
~*~
the roar of the crowd
the crack of the bat it’s gone
baseball Dad and me
~*~
celebration day
he’s the king of the castle
Father’s Day today
~*~
sad rain chills my bones
the strength he gave holds back tears
Heaven is his home
~*~
he lives on through me
his proud name I will carry
Junior’s destiny
~*~
a message from Heaven words from my Father
he always had the last word
and still does those words are
"Father's Day"
~*~
~~**~~
you are days my glowing bright daze
you are my night my shinning armored knight
you are my son my daily rising sun
you are my peace you are the final piece
Every day is Father's Day

Get Your 4-1-1 From 5-2-9

I am the authority on any question you may ask
But be prepared, because I know I've already completed that task
You ask me which pet is better, a dog or a cat
Read my latest article about the care of all animals, called Been There, Done
That
Don't try to outcook me, I graduated at the top of my class in Culinary School
Put your money on the table, I know I can beat you at pool
When I drive, I demand complete silence, I don't want any distractions
Computer programs, accounting, I've used every kind of database, done every
kind of financial transaction
Don't argue with me, because I will win
Everyone tells me they wish I had a twin
You want to know about raising children, ask me about mine
I strongly reccomend you get your 4-1-1 from 5-2-9
You women need to break your men down
There is no king of the castle in my house, I wear the crown
I may be a little proud of what all I've done
I know it is far more than anyone
If you want to know about cars and their care
I can tell you about dealerships I have fixed when and where
You cannot tell me anything that hasn't already happened to me
I keep a crystal ball to foresee
During an African Safari, my sister went into labor, I delivered my niece
I rode with Gypsies on the islands of Greece
I had to tell Eugene, supposedly an experienced detailer, how to make the tires
shine
The secret is out, sorry Eugene, now they know you got your 4-1-1 from 5-2-9
I won an argument with an astronomer about the solar belt
I was given extra chips at a casino because I pointed out to the manager how the
cards were dealt
I've given advice to a couple about horses and their unpredictable ways
I told a fishing boat captain, how and when to enter Biscayne Bay
Through it all, I find people and force them to listen to me
Where is Gabrielle, oh, she's eating lunch and my nose is snotty
People love me for all the great knowledge I possess
But I have one rival, I must confess
She is at 1-800-SO-Fine
She cannot top me for you 4-1-1 from 5-2-9

Premium Member Family Cat

King of the castle
Proud and arrogant
Prowls at night
Spends days alternating
Stretching and sleeping
Following that perfect
Internal clock for feeding times
Totally content with the dullest routine
Dreading jolly interruptions
Those busy festive family rumblings
So many extra people roundabout
All that crazy horsing around
Cat goes about his business
Staying out of family politics
Pussyfooting through the minefield
As I wisely follow his lead

Subtle Seduction

Watching you clean our pool
On a hot, summers day
Admiring your muscular, tanned body
Your butt looks cute in those shorts!
Strutting around, like your king of the castle
While, I slip into my new, red bikini
Rubbing coconut oil, into my skin
Putting my long, blonde hair loosely in a bun
Leaving a few strands loose
One last twirl, in the mirror
Before walking down stairs
Taking a closer look, at this fine, male specimen!
“Mmmm”
You look even yummier, close up!
Your shirt wide open, baring your manly chest
A big smile, as you greet me “Hello”
Delighted to see me
Your full package, clearly showing!
Untying my bikini top
My full bosoms, on display
A flirtatious smile, your eyes, widening
I dive in the pool, inviting you in
Be carefree, be spontaneous
You only get to live once!

Rabbit,Badger and Ribbet the Frog.

Once upon a time in the cold land of bog
lived a Rabbit, a Badger and Ribbet the Frog.
Now you might think it odd in the cold land of bog
A Rabbit and Badger living with Ribbet the Frog.

But the King of the Castle he had three sons.
All fat and lazy didn't get much done.
So the King of the Castle got angry one day.
He decided it's time to send them away.

He called his Magician to cast out a spell
and send them to exile, so no-one could tell.
So early one morning the Castle surrounded in fog
he made up his Potion to convey them to the cold land of bog.

So goes the tale of the King and his sons
on the Kings command under Magicians spell
three sons sent to exile where no-one could tell.
Cast out afar in the cold land of bog
were Rabbit, Badger and Ribbet the Frog.

Coffee House Contest

As morning arises and grogginess continues to overtake
The smell of something brewing suddenly helps one to awake
Stumbling Down the stairs with eyes sunk low
A Sweet aroma lets each subject know
That sips of glory are just about to be there
The tortuous suddenly becomes the hare
Black with sugar some days cream
A symbol of the American dream
Oh how the warmth flowing down ones slide
Quickly sparks a mental drive
Cup half-filled than a cup filled to the top
The day starts off with this essential stop
To the kitchen with excitement at hand
Only a true coffee drinker would understand
Roosted beans with a variety of flavors to fit each soul
Charged and ready the consumers goal
The king of the castle
The queen of the pot
I pity the person who goes shopping Sunday and Monday morning realizes what they forgot,
So thank you God for roosted plants that deliver stimulation,
And early morning motivation,
A College student’s dearest friend,
For once you start drinking coffee you’re never going to want it to end.

The Asphalt Sea

I bought an RV , that's where I'm living these days..
Living and learning all the RVing ways.
When I awoke this morning it was raining 'round here.
But my RV wasn't leaking and that filled me with cheer.
Last night I fixed the fridge and I filled it with food,
I'm a warm, dry, well fed, RV having dude..
Aboard this vessel I'm the captain and crew.
King of the castle ? Hell yeah I'm him too !
My ocean's made of asphalt and my ship's got wheels,
And I'm here to tell you just how good this all feels..
I've finally found freedom on the asphalt sea,
Where it's where it's good to be captain and it's good to be me.
I'm free to drop anchor and I'm just as free to roam.
Wherever I find myself I'm always at home.
Ain't got no mortgage, don't gotta make the rent.
And wherever I am it's cause that's where I went.
Every day is an adventure , or so it would seem.
Life is made for living and I'm living the dream.
Yeah it's all good on the asphalt sea.
It's good to be captain and It's good to be me !
I got a fantastic woman along for the ride.
She's here because she loves me, man that fills me with pride.
Yesterday is gone forever and tomorrow never comes
Today is where the action is so fare thee well my chums.
As for me I'll be sailing on the asphalt sea,
Where it's good to be a captain and it's good to be me !!

2190 Days

You and me,
Six years behind us.
So many more words spoken
So many places seen.
Thousands of kisses and hugs
Thousands of tears
Both happy and sad.
Four more miracles
Blessed together beyond measure.
Many sorrows left behind too.
Many goodbyes said to others
But not to each other
Without being followed
My more hellos.
I loved you so much
On day one of 2190.
We held each other all day
In the dark basement.
Expressing that love over and over.
Promising.
Forever.
And on this day,
I love you 2190 times as much
Plus six.
For our 6 beautiful miracles
That bring me so much joy.
But not as much as your love.
Your unconditional devotion.
Your sweet tenderness for me.
Your unending selflessness
And your ability to never quit,
Or give up,
Or stop Trying.
Not you.
You are my night in shining armor
My jeweled and regal King of the castle.
My rugged brave hero in battle
My strong, dauntless warrior.
And I remain yours.
Through all your many faces.
I’m your distressed rescued princess
Your gilded Queen in Jewels
Your proud and fierce Valekyrie.
Your warrior maiden in skirts and braids.
Everything that is love, devotion and fortitude
That is our love.
Everything that is just and right
Regardless of the light other eyes cast on it
That is our love.
Everything that is innocent, wild and free.
Purity in our children’s eyes.
Love filling our children’s souls
And the beauty of everything
In our world.
That is my love for you.
I see it in every lovely thing my eyes find.
I hear it in all the music in the world.
I feel it in every hug and touch.
I taste it in everything sweet and savory.
And I touch your heart.
Everyday that you touch mine.
I can’t wait until the next 2190 days
Because I know they will
Only be better.
I love you Chris.
My favorite.
My pot pie.
The wonderful father to my children.
My man.

Prisoner of My Own Advice

I'm not a stranger to disappointment
I'm not surprised by how much anger I feel
for something I always knew
I would never be man enough to get...
but somehow I transformed into a prisoner
a prisoner to rot for crimes for life
while I waste away, dreaming of being king
A king, I always wanted to be a king
king of the castle
King of what castle
I'm too lazy to be anything less than sleep
I'm writing outside for the purpose of
clearing the cobwebs out of their collective corners
but crazy is filling their empty spaces
because I'm tossing away my own prepared advice
like it never parted from my lips
like it never set foot in existence
I shouldn't be at war with myself like this
I shouldn't be sulking like this
but like the story says
'it's always a second too late'
I never knew life could hurt like this
and I never want to know again
Like coil, my mind is unraveling
I'm so sick of doubts
of this place trying to accept this place as home
of false hopes pointing me in disastrous directions
of my own darn advice I don't even follow
and all those failed pep talks
when I don't have the attention span
to be myself the real way
Disappointment and anger
can't be all of me
It can't be all of me...
I can't be this empty
No, not now
This pen can't run out of ink on me now
I'm all alone
I've always said I'd be here
I always proclaimed I'm here now
but I'm only here in my mind
I'm away in a distant place
and I can't climb out
My dreams persist to slip from my weak hands
into the infinity of the last 8 pages
I'll be remembered as ashes
just remains of nothing
So this terrible King
will lock himself in his castle
to fade...just to fade

The Castle Plan

A young tourist went into an old castle for site seen,
he became fascinated by the antique structure, the Gothic sculptures and the beautiful renaissance paintings hanging on the stone walls, artistically.

Some people moved in groups around tour guides, while others sat in the entrance hall majestically.

he took memorable pictures along the way, but got carried away by the multitude of people he had seen on his way in,
Interactively,

As he ventured deeper in curiosity, the lights became dimmer in visibility then the tranquillity of his mind grew shallow in inquisitiveness, gradually.

So he decided to abort his mission and return back to a common room, he turned around confidently but found himself still facing the same direction surprisingly.

It was at that moment, he realised he was now missing both in his dreams and also in reality as well, certainly.

Afterwards he tried to retrace his step from myths back to legend but his road map had become outdated hence the company of voices he once relied on while coming in, now sounded like mere rumours, on his way out, practically.

He scrolled through the pictures he had captured, although they all looked different initially but had now broken out through the thick walls, because all the stones looked the same in preview and his uncertainty had set them free in review, unfortunately.

He called out for help but his voice echoed reflectively around the concave mirrors of his mind in frequencies, repeatedly.

He began living a past life suddenly, trying to recall events because even the present time, had escaped his consciousness, relatively,

the only way forward for him presently, was to head backwards futuristically.

Since he did not have the plan 2 the castle, he made a plan out of the castle, by using two old stones, to start a fire, like a cave man, evolutionarily.

Thereafter he was crowned the king of the castle assumably because the tour guides began tracing the smoke immediately,

for they feared that the throne was about to be set on fire accidentally,

Finally the tourist was excavated out of the past into a present time frame, for "the stone that the builders rejected, had become the chief corner stone of the building" comprehensively...
