China Spies and Lies

Concentration camps in the north
disappearing book sellers in the south
Chinese spies hunt one and all
Army of thieves , worldwide

Zhao Ziyang, where is he?
erased from Chinese history
where is the brave young man
who battled one thousand tanks?

Xu Jiatun, where is he?
erased from Chinese history
truth has no play in China today
only death and propaganda reign

Xi Jinping, crimes against humanity
Lu Shaye, propogandist to the core
Leaders of a revolution long dead
corruption their cause, their only rules

Coal plants and cigarettes
Keep your silences
even you may lose your breath
This is China, spies and lies

Demise of My Father, Masood Hasan Zaidi

Everywhere I look, lightening
And people merrymaking
On their faces, happy curves
Am breathing with cracking nerves

I am a baba's girl
He told me he loved me most
Than anything else in the world
To me he is my entire world

I am in pain you are not here
You always used to be my seer
I miss you at all times
When I feel you by my side

My nights and days are filled with dread; nosey red
Thousand times I cry; eyes are wet and tears dry

I miss you baba
You are mine
Yours and only yours ... (Jia) - Fatima Hasan Zaidi

The Sun and the Earth

I am always around you
No matter where you go
Day after day, it never felt boring looking at you
You have strongly attracted me
just like gravity

Slowly and gently you shine on me
Warming up every part of me
Making me lively
Without you,
I am but a frozen, dead planet

Gift of Being Alive

??
In the latest whatsapp message making its rounds...
There is a poignant reflections on life by someone who has died....

Therein was something wise to live by and to live on...
The young ones are much too busy and have too much on...

The old ones should realise with the wisdom of the years..
Being old, we have been through all kinds of life's many tears...

Being older and wiser, we should be mellowed with those struggles won..
We spare a thought for our young ones we see struggling one by one.....

Patiently we await their celebrations each time they triumph over an obstacle....
We're the lucky ones with soul partners to share in memories where possible...

We are the old ones, experiences and memories all rolled into one...
Jia You! jia you! is a popular Chinese rallying cry ...

But when you are old and wiser, there would have been many highs...
Just be thankful and glad, you are up and about still full of life....

To greet each day and savor life's greatest gift .......of being alive!..

@@@A little dedication to a wise old man of 105 who penned some
worldly advice on patience and understanding for the younger generations
 managing their families...

Emotional Rain

Whenever a ginseng breeze blows,
Tokyo tears fall in my heart —
I have mountain village longings for distant her
My lonely home sits below sea-level blue,
my sabishi jia is sinking below cerulean water
Butterfly images on the rice paper lantern
softly sway ... gently I fall into a light sleep
My dreams float in the night Szechuan sky,
wishing for the clouds to cry
I feel the famine embrace of my phantom sorumeito —
My ghostly soulmate rests in the arms of another,
leaving me with a dearth of
barren gingko days ... only empty Yangtze pain
The air I breathe remains dry,
but my heart is flooded with emotional rain
I’m drowning on the inside,
overcome by
a downpour of internal torrential weeping
Overwhelmed by unabated emotional rain
Heavy is my Chengdu heart ... swept to the depths
	of deep despair
by tsunami waves of true love loss
Never knew freedom would come
with such a soul evaporating cost
Didn’t realize being captive was such a joy,
oh how I wish I was still kept in her heart
As the morning sky starts to cry,
the rain washes away the levee pride
which my dry eyes used to hold back
All the tears that had built up in my heart
for too long
Today, my emotional rain
has washed me clean
to the far shores of hope again

Love Comes Quietly

Love come quietly,
Finally, drops
About me, on me
in the old ways

What did I know
Thinking myself
Able to go
Alone all the way

Lost Hopes

Now what can I say about,
There are so many doubt.
A thing that is crystal clear,
Is that I don't like it here.

Because of all the drama,
Having a feeling of despair and trauma.
Not able to learn or put my mind,
Not a single solution I am able to find.

Trying to restrain my emotions,
Wanna need a magic potion.
To handle my tears,
And to face my fears.

Girl Child

Hey! Look it's a girl child,
On hearing this he went wild.
'I don't want that curse' , he said,
All his conditions were laid.

Her mother cried the whole night,
When he said "remove her from my sight".
She took the girl and left him for good,
Wandering without home without food.

The girl grew up to be strong and bold,
Numerous stories of hardships she was told.

                                                                     ~Jia

Tennis With Jai Liu

Flying foxes hang replete from the rain trees
dripping in the morning sun.
They have sucked the flesh
of mamey sapote,
of rambutan and mangosteen.
Their dog-like pelts are copper pendants
that dribble a dawn dew onto our heads.

Jia Liu has an Uncle
that is not related to her.
When he is away
she takes me as a tennis partner,
and sometimes lover.
Her uncle owns
the villa.

After the game
we stroll under the large bats.
“It’s good for your hair,” she says laughing,
running ahead.
I call
“Where do they go in the heat of the day?”
“To the fruit markets in George Town,
“they hang from the rafters.”

Last night I was with her again.
A dream.
We were drinking amrita of guava,
our lips smeared
with a sweet red thirst.

Big Dreams

My dreams are the sole focus of my life,
And in my mind they are as sharp as a knife.
Doing hardwork and enduring all pain,
And not wasting any time in vain.

To make my parents proud,
So that they can shout out loud.
That their daughter has achieved something great,
And has created her own golden fate.

To cherish the moment when I achieve my goal,
And being satisfied from my heart & soul.
My future as bright as a moon,
That day would come soon.

                                                              ~ Jia

Cool nights favor a fragrant adulatory.
