Boat Ride On the Chilika Lake
The boatman jabbered, “Ten rupees for each,
For a cool ride down the Chilika Lake”,
We egged on the elders, their child within,

The wooden boat, barely a few feet long,
Holding hands, brown and sturdy we climbed on,
Through the obtuse bending, welcomed us warm,

The boatman oars, stirs still...

Premium Member Almost Never Was
“She toddled in the mighty Duck
And almost never was”
Whether by design or luck
Or maybe just because

Summertime in Tennessee
So scorching hot and dry
The family thought a swim could be
Relief so we would try

While swimming came so easy
For most of us that day
But Mom was...

The Mysterious Women's Restroom
I accidentally stepped into the women's restroom
Turned around to quickly leave
Noticed there was no one there
Then turned back around for a manly peak

What the ladies do in here
Has always been a mystery
So I lurked about and scouted out
To let all the other men know...

Book: Radiant Verses: A Journey Through Inspiring Poetry

Mother Tongue
We had a steel-coiled fence
that kept us apart; kept in purity,
spoke out in purity.

We played Barbies in a tree that
bordered each side, not knowing
it had a
zone.

Our Barbie world was created;
dresses hung on branches
little mirrors for wee doll hands;
leaves assigned our closets.

I gibbered...

Missing 'Link'
I first met him in July, seventeen years later
I was shocked to see how much he looked like his maternal uncle
So nothing like me except, maybe, the eyes...yeah, the eyes
"Hi, Alex, I'm Jim." We shook hands and I pulled him into an "ambush" hug
"You can...

Premium Member Happiest Halloween Halifax Ever Had
The governor galloped toward the gallows
Goblins, ghosts, ghouls gathering in the hallows.
Witches and warlocks wandered in with the weather.
Halloween hurried and harried, hawking heady heather.
Jackpot jack-o-lanterns jabbered with a jubilant jab.
Harboring happiest Halloween Halifax ever had.
Dapper debonair devils danced in dubious delight.
Freaky frightening flesh-eaters were...

Premium Member Pretending To Be On the Phone
we've all done it
or we used to do it
nowadays we can feign
sending messages

in touch-and-go back streets
in dodgy areas at night
in the office to appear
being busy

to avoid babbling
with a colleague
to avoid a bothersome
old lady at the bus stop

bell didn't invent the
gossipy horn
he...

Damn Bad Reputation Counts 500 Plus Paw Whet Tick Stints
Damn bad reputation counts 500 plus paw whet tick stints

The following fictitious poetic vignette attempts a feeble tale of one ordinary day in life of anonymous miscreant.

"I don't give a damn
about my bad reputation."

I haint never done nobody no harm,
nor did any animals...

Get Out of My Head Mister Chatterbox
Get Out Of My Head Mister Chatterbox!

Upon prima facie first blush
me mind's eye all atwitter,
sans long forgotten
"FAKE" sexual exploits
set mum (chrysos anthem) all aglitter,

boot like short order cook I hapt tubby
quickly realized trumpeting collusion,
a near fatal collision course
with Matthew Scott's antimatter
caw zing friggin insomnia

finding ma...

Timothy the Mouse
Timothy the mouse, once went to school,
With all his pencils and books.
He annoyed his principal, his teachers and friends
And all the cafeteria's cooks.

He threw paper airplanes and giggled and laughed,
And jibbered and jabbered and yelled.
The class bully squeaked and everyone shrieked,
When Timothy tied a knot...

While Skeptic Attempts To Comprehend the Legacy of Jonathan Edwards
Alternately titled: Get out of my head mister chatterbox!

While inside me noggin legions
of monstrous demons abhor
protest being force fed
arcane and obscure
assaying into religious dogma
hence mind chatter goes full bore
thus crafting poem quite a difficult chore,
one lightweight bag of bones
basketcase weave gotta deplore,

nevertheless mine tincup rattled

Premium Member almost showed off
(There’s a song for this: ‘Confessions’ by Sudan Archives)

I remember it like it was yesterday (it was yesterday).

I arrived on a cool (42°f), blindingly sunny New Haven afternoon. It was as if they’d opened up that troubling ozone hole just for me.
I was as happy...

Get out of my head mister chatterbox
Get out of my head mister chatterbox!

Ransacking treasure trove
of maximum headroom.

To remedy a fate worse than death
or orange hair oaf becoming
forty seventh president
or contracting one
of several viral diseases named pox

with numerous deadbolts
and sophisticated locks
and impossible mission to...
