Best Inundated Poems
Dream schemes play across the screen
And third eye examines them,
Ever so closely; tonight,
Another etheric flight;
Will show me new horizons
And the beings that dwell there;
The archetypes and images.
Scenes play out in colors,
Shadows weave their magic;
I am inundated.
Visiting spirits came,
Just to bid me adieu;
My guides know what I need.
Somewhere the light starts,
To glow; a pinpoint,
Growing as it moves
Toward each scene, shines;
Revealing wisdom.
A dream is an
Education;
Dream and wisdom
Will come to you.
Dreaming mind,
Subconscious,
Library.
Dream long
And deep;
Dream.

Diminished Hexaverse
As the evening crept in
whisper of pines unfolded slowly another story,
every single instant seemed one decade;
unknown stars above blinking endlessly,
hand in hand ,our hearts unbridled themselves
and then escaped somewhere into darkness,
old moon unveiled the amazing mountains
every tree inundated by oozing silver;
under this autumn sky
enchanted by immense beauty
our speechless,unbounded moments
as four eyes met in love once more;
unabated passion about to explode moment
into fragments of pleasure
unlimited,boundless and never ending;
we inhaled fragrance of love
unfurling like a rose every second,
I thought of the universe for a moment
even though it seemed oblivion to us.

Jack Frost, Jack Frost, how we feel your icy touch.
The earth lies under your freezing clutch.
You are a sneaking thief coming to steal the russet sun,
And mercilessly take away all our outdoor fun.
Fluffy snowflakes on feathery wings unfurled,
Fall gently and silently over the sleeping world.
First they come slow and then in torrential showers fast,
As if the snowing will never stop, but forever last.
Busy streets and pavements are now lying bare.
People stay indoors. To come out, they hardly dare.
Rodents have gone into hibernation in their ditch.
It seems life altogether has gone out of pitch.
Birds sit with drooping wings in their woody nests.
Within eyeshot, no trace of any roaming beasts.
From nowhere comes the song of a single bird.
On the slopes, one cannot sight the grazing herd.
Inch by inch, foot by foot, snowflakes fall,
Surrounding us on all sides like an oppressive wall.
Tawny roof tops are crusted with flakes of milky snow,
That the sun with golden beams alone can thaw.
From the cobalt sapphire sky’s misty veil,
Fall down the snowflakes like summer hail.
Unpigmented piles get heaped on the ground,
And the Earth lies inundated in a sea of milk churned.
From the seamless sea of ice, strewn with scattered gems,
Aureate, flaxen sunbeams make glittering diadems.
Thus Nature creates variegated scenes, delighting the heart,
Superseding every piece in a museum of man-made art!

A sadness appears
on the face of a nation
as tears fall like rivers a’flow
Midst rubble and death
with dreams slowly shattered,
where blood coats the fields draped in snow
So gallant they stand
to the war machine charging,
a serpent of heartless desire
Their bravery shines
like the flames unrelenting,
their world inundated with fire
A leader’s decree,
there shall be no surrender,
our lives will remain on this ground
Till peace be our prize,
with defeat not an option,
eternal this courage is found
A formidable foe,
bearing breath of a dragon,
deterrence shall not be thy gain
With strength one and all,
we shall battle this demon
for we are as one, oh Ukraine

Year after year
Torrential rains, fall
Winds rip apart humanities dreams
We are flooded and ask why?
The angels cry
For all of us
We are inundated with their tears
As they weep, we who still breathe, live on in daily fear
Mothers, fathers, sons and daughters
Taken before their time
Some see fit to hasten their journeys
They know not an angels tears
How many of us have been defeated
By the depth of sadness, life seems cheated
So blinded we are inside our heads
The tears drowning us until we dead
Drowning our hopes and feeding our fears
What are we to do?
Look beyond the angel tears
See that heaven removes all fears
The tormented on earth, as they rise above
Knowing that paradise is theirs, clouds only below
Finally they feel the smiles within
Wishing we too, in contentment could know
The happiness that rises from inside the soul
Note: My meager attempt to offer someone comfort here

Light Verse
My sins – both of commission and omission
do testify against me day and night.
But saving souls of sinners was His mission;
now sinners walk by faith and not by sight.
Lord, how am I to keep your gospel fresh?
Repeated hearings make it seem less real,
for I am inundated by the flesh
and all the vain distractions that appeal.
I strive to grasp this truth mysterious:
“God demonstrates his love for us in this –
While we were lost in sin, Christ died for us”
Though I had just betrayed him with a kiss.
New birth and life eternal are his gifts
As from the dead this hope my spirit lifts.

Sonnet
By morning, I could feel the first hints of warm air,
Relieved I took my bath and dressed for work.
There was no music in the block of flats,
But in my head rumbled a hundred old time songs
That tantalized me into a stupor of great expectancy.
Down stairs, near the elevator, was an old woman.
I was shocked to see her on a wheelchair, eyes vacant.
The landlord smiled at me and told me not to worry.
Seems Angelique was to be taken to some rest home.
Her mother just wanted to see that the upstairs
Apartment was in perfect state for the living.
Disappointed at the name I left for work later for my groceries.
Back home I concocted some pasta and cooked the sauce,
Opened my favourite bottle of red wine to drown my sorrows.
Silence reigned supreme and I felt rather annoyed.
So I betook myself to sleep hoping at least to dream.
The phone rang and a dulcet voice asked for me.
She had arrived late and had got nothing prepared for her meal.
Could I take something good for her to eat?
So I put on my track suit and with little or no enthusiasm
Went upstairs with some pasta left over and some wine.
That would be enough I thought, but the mother
Was old enough and should have known better.
Mother? The girl that opened the door was young enough.
A nymph that beckoned me in, in the warm atmosphere,
Balsamic perfume that inundated the cosy apartment,
Low magic music swirled and vibrated everywhere.
My name is Angel she tenderly smiled, shall we dance?
I felt the warmth of her; felt her arms and the dance began.
It did not take long to become lost in her euphoric bliss.
And our lips met, again and again as our hearts beat as one……….
You want to know the end?
We lived happily ever after…….
As all fairy tales should…..

For some reason, I feel especially vindicated
Learning recently that I won’t be syndicated,
I know many of my dear family are titillated
Since they are of my readers most dedicated.
In my writings, over the years, I’ve indicated
That with superb honors I’ve been inundated,
Still, I’ve made every effort to be insulated,
Although lately I’ve been rather stimulated
And, for the most part, yes, entirely pixilated;
That is, when I am not totally inebriated!

Monorhyme
Dark clouds loomed over the horizon
They broke loose in unprecedented force
Nature’s wrath, sudden violence acquired
It rained down as if unleashing all her fury
It was a downpour without one equal
The heavens let down dark misery for days on end,
Water bodies swelled and hollows filled,
Land mass slipped and trees fell,
The tame rivers looked fierce in spate.
Waves surfed and waters roared,
Like mountains they rose over the land,
Men in throngs were evicted from their homes,
Hundreds died and livestock perished
Such violence, never ever imagined
Helter-skelter, people fled for life.
Lands inundated and folks were marooned,
Homes were washed away with all belongings
Power failed and life had come to a halt
Rescue operations went on in full swing
But the deluge chanted the dirge of dying souls
Men sought shelter in relief camps
Epidemics broke loose and many died
Hospitals were flooded with ailing souls
Crops perished and misery prevailed
Havoc wreaked and penury struck
As Nature thus played her perfidious tricks,
Men stayed united and pooled all their might,
To regain for their land what had been lost
In a matter of months life was back to normal
It was a time that displayed man’s great resilience.

My glass life half empty,
Never like you or them,
Catalyzed by forsaken neglect,
Abandoned with the breeze,
Catapulted into your world of torment,
Sparkling spirit lost its glimmer,
Ebbing amidst flawed philosophies,
Breathing cynicism into existence.
Save me from this despondency,
And soothe my demons,
Requisitioning the essence of
My everything,
Pilfering what I'm meant to be.
Shadows of doubt,
Splintering my quintessence,
Inundated by echoing relics of my past;
Silence these fragmented reflections
That plague me.
Aching for the flicker of a
New dawning, to
Encompass every broken part of me.

O, bright twinkling star
shining speck in the sky
Your place in the cosmos
matters not to my eye
I don't know if you're arid
your surface bone-dry
Or covered with water
your seas swelling high
If your atmosphere's toxic
filled with methane
Or inundated perpetually
with punishing rains
So many questions have I
aflame with curiosity
Yet they all swiftly pale
midst your luminosity

Slowly, I draw a deep breath before closing my eyes,
then picture I am floating on a white wispy cloud.
In my nebulous vision, I am not veiled in disguise,
for I've no need when riding high above the crowd.
Is there a touchstone on which my alignment is founded?
And is my mind too inundated with life's trivial details?
Sometimes I'm uncertain if my thoughts are grounded.
When traveling forward or backward, often serenity derails.
I debate myself over goals with serious contention,
and it's an ongoing battle, trying to decide... yes or no
to questions I don't want to answer. I need an intervention
about my dueling opinions. Neither of them will let it go.
Is it possible I can just continue gliding along above it all?
I'm not interested in chasing rainbows to find a pot of gold,
or losing what's important, if from this cloud I should fall.
If so, I'd enjoy blissful contentment every day, tenfold.

South Africa is inundated with a problem
Kidnapping, baffled with an emblem
Months passed and devastation still lasts
In the minds and bodies of the casts...

All the time, we need not yelp

Pedaling along river drive
empty plastic grocery bags
fluttered and flapped from tree branches
like lost battle surrender flags
that line the drought-stricken river.
Their interspersed clings reminded
me of inundated levels
this now anemic river reached;
where once the floodwaters surged south
along its journey to the sea
its now imperceptive flow
struggles, its intimate's exposed:
river-bottom, water-worn rocks
sit like petrified bowler hats.
