Best Hope Love Poems
Far away in a
land torn with war,
she looked for a home.
She was not as pretty as
doves adorning lush gardens,
as exuberant as ducks to play
with,neither as useful as pigeons
in war. The lonely little cuckoo
flew from burnt trees to desolate
orchards. A black bird with yellow
spots on her feathers that other birds
found ugly. She looked for a home where
she'd be accepted for who she was. The
world hurled poisonous arrows at her.
Wounded, she fell in a garden waiting
to die until two little human hands
cocooned her. A girl nursed her agony
and made her feel loved. All her sorrow
began to melt and pour as rain on the fiery
land. She cried with her heart, her honeyed
voice, never heard before. The little girl danced
in joy and kissed her wings to let her fly but
little cuckoo sang to a world lost in pain, her
music blooming pink buds, rushing through
blue rivulets, swaying branches with
soothing wind, caressing parched souls,
raising spirits of warriors with hope.
She stayed for love, ecstatic
at her newfound lilac tune.
She'd found home
in a land
torn with
w ar to dr en ch
it wi th h e r
di vi ne s o ng.

How long will I love you, often you ask
Forever and a day, my love will last
Till there’s no blossom or leaves upon trees
Or pretty daffodils dancing o’er breeze.
Till clouds cease to form patterns in the sky
All seas and rivers begin running dry
Till all poets have no poetic prose
Or night has no beginning, day no close.
Till no man or creature walks upon earth
Gold or silver has no value or worth
Till there are no birds flying on the wing
Or voices aren’t heard and no one can sing.
Till the day we take our Heavenly place
Living for eternity in God’s grace
With time to dance among stars up above
Darling I send this in glimmers of love.
Close your eyes and forget the rain
Dream about the sun and heat
a sunny summer day
Dream of waves who sigh
so quiet on the beach
Swimming naked with the one you love
The dream of happiness
is more than the dream
A dream about strawberries with cream on
Do not forget the roses and violets
that smells so good
Running barefoot in the freshly cut grass
Close your eyes and dream your dreams
Daydreaming as sweet and good
they are secret, I will not share them with anyone
Imagine if life was a dream .....
A wonderful dream
and the world was full of love
and intimacy between all the people on earth
My dreams are made of
hope, faith and love

I
Will
Kiss you
While you sleep
Lady dressed in white
And melt your cold heart made of ice
Then
You
Will rise
Liquefied
High into the sky
And fall as raindrops from God’s eyes
To
The
Waiting
Buds below
Where now you will grow
With me - in the bloom of a rose

There is silence in turmoil… joy in the midst of pain
Sweetness in the bitter… music in the rain
There is light in darkness… illuminated faith shines
Hues of colorful sighs… insights into the signs
There is beauty in unsightliness… kindness in the lost hope
Gentle warmth in a chill… that leaves a way to cope
There is laughter in the sorrow… mirth in the grim
Even though there is mourning… that leaves the eye dim
There is a whisper of inspiration… soothing away the cry
Allowing a tear to pierce the heart… mute the brightest sky
There is grace in the loathing… even hatred brings insight
Precious moments of understanding… can bring pure delight
There is goodness in the shame… for it means a heart is contrite
No dishonor in remorse… even disgrace is brighter in the moonlight
There is warmth in the winter… even though ice chills the bones
Fires breathe tenderness… to those who won’t throw stones
There is caring in the selfish… when they mend their greed
Welcoming the attention… of those who are selfless indeed
There is love in the callous… even a hard heart can be thawed
When there is the compassion… to give mercy we should applaud

Through frayed seams a rosy dream bleeds
needled and re-stitched
with threads of time and love and hope..
and still — a rosy dream bleeds
the miscarriage of a promised rose garden
leaving me bereft but for entwined bands of gold –
contemplative thorns tempt my angst
moony moody barbs bristle twigs of tenderness
sigh— it’s not a laurel wreath worn atop my brow
as I sit alone with a squeamish friend
my blue-sky-to-storm-cloud introspection —
as your distant eyes deserted mine long ago
Winter's beast laid bare a cerebral graveyard
lost you wander amongst laid-to-rest neurons
worn headstones of thoughts and laughter and memories…
you wonder why they hide — why they died
the crackle of cognitive circuitry quiets
branched-lightning fades from unwitting clouds
and aged roots of reality perish
our red rose finished fallen to pieces
you-and-me-petals a messy heap like old potpourri —
yet in dark’s hush love’s scent lingers on our dream pillow
Oh nostalgic sepals embrace me!
my heart yearns to return to the bud
to the fullness of our June bloom —
instead, I bury desires beneath life’s litterfall;
amid pollenless stamens and leaves of one-sided reveries
and cage my fear my despair behind purple thistle facing the light
as I free a smile for you, my love —
you my sun that still parts the rain-bearing nimbus
My dear,
I shall meet thee in the summer of thy heart,
where we once walked head to each
elegant upon the world....
And had not a care but for little winds of love
winking there in the dreams of trees,
laying upon me to so delicately,
tickle with your autumn hair,
always so soap-scented you
Touch me where I had not known
the ease of such wonder in your eyes,
splendor only for a great king ----
but I a hopeless romantic muse,
with little empty pockets blessed
with thy precious petal,
am richer than any lord!
I shall wait for thee in our golden glade,
the heart which flows the waterfall....
by the dawn of your sweet embrace,
in the summer of thy heart,
I shall wait....
(Love, K)
Verse 1
His coat is torn his
shoes are thin
The cold cuts deep beneath his
skin
Little boy coughs small
hands that shake
Winter's breath is much to hard
To hard to take.
Verse 2
Sidewalk echoes silent
prayers
People pass but no one
cares
Cardboard kingdom borrowed
time
Every step is a mount-
Mountain climbed.
Chorus
And the city turns
away
Like they never ever knew his
name
Still he holds his boy so
close
Chorus 1st Ending
Runs through streets to bring him
home. (1x repeat back to beginning of chorus)
Chorus 2nd Ending
Whispers / "Son, we're going
home."
Verse 3
Once had a home once had a
plan
Once held hope in calloused
hands
But fate’s a thief it moves much too
fast
Dreams dissolve like breath on
Stained kissed glass.
Chorus
Bridge
And he sings a lullaby
so low
Soft as the falling falling
Angel snow
A father’s love is his sheltering
Wings of warmth
Even when the nights are
Broken broken and torn.
Verse 4
"Daddy I’m tired my chest feels
tight"
His voice is weak his skin much too
white
Stars above blur in his
sight
The world fades into endless
Endless cold night.
Partial Chorus
And the city turns
away
Like they never ever knew his
name
Still he lifts his boy so
close
Runs through streets…..to bring him
home.
Final Verse
He stumbles down an empty
street
The world is ice beneath his
feet
He kneels beside the frozen
City of stone
Whispers "Son… we’re finally
Finally home."
Chorus
Chorus 2nd Ending
Whispers / "Son
we're finally
home."
Outro
The snow drifts soft the
Sunday morning gray
No one stops and no one
Left to pray
Two souls lost in winter’s
hold
Together now, for-
ever and ever
In a City Frozen cold
Life once was a journey through springs
And vistas of autumns in colors bold,
In splendor of morn rising on arc
And motifs on horizon sprinkled in gold;
But seasons soon imposed a heavy toll
Ravaging visions of emerald meadows
When echoes of nights roiled in turbulence
And days encountered darkened shadows.
Glad we soon defied the travails of yore
Turning focus to goodwill of tomorrow
As you stood there like a lighthouse of hope
When my heart was weak and full of sorrow.
And now I feel zest in breath of the winds
And pitter-patter of exuberant rain showers,
And now there's whiff of sweet fragrance
In budding new blossoms of April flowers.
No longer in our eyes there is hint of fear,
Neither are there tears of saddened years
For in your embrace wallows forever love
And in my heart dwells revelry of cheers.

Poem of the week..beginning on 9/22/2019
HM: Strand Special 4 by Brian Strand
Despite the black, the birds begin
To call the light unto the day,
Persistent songs remind the Sun
To send the stars upon their way.
There's hope in this which I admire:
The birds trust what they're yet to see,
I know I trust you just the same,
And always will, unfailingly.
I went to the sun for a favor
and asked it to shine only for you
to grant you happiness though you may be sad
bright yellow 'midst so much blue
but when the day decides to end
and the sun sinks and goes away
I give you the moon as a reminder
that my love will never fade
though i can't tell you how much I love you right now
and I can't show you what's in my heart
i hope when you look at the sun and moon
you'll realize we aren't that far apart
In my field of dreams I see you
Walking towards me
With that smile on your face
With promise and hope in your eyes
Somehow your reflection has gone dim
My hope at times too
But
Then I remember the life you lived
It was all about hope
All about not giving up
Never forgetting to smile
That will always remain –
A bittersweet memory
Times like tonight you are so close by
Not physically
But I can feel your breathe against my skin
I can feel the warmth of your touch
It’s not in the things you said,
It’s in the way you did them
Even when I miss you
The most
Still, I am thankful
I was blessed with you
Even if just for a little while

Three keys of life...faith, hope, and love...
unlock the joys you're worthy of.
Nothing in life remains the same,
yet changes have their time of strain.
Before a butterfly takes flight,
it must endure a darker light.
How many winters must there be
before the twig's a fruitful tree?
So turn the key of FAITH for you...
set free belief that sees you through.
Do not let yesterday block out
today's new tasks which you're about.
Help butterflies leave their cocoons,
with life renewed, spread wings out soon.
Help ripen too, the needed fruits
which grow from common, faithful roots.
So turn the key of HOPE for you...
set free the sun to shine anew.
As brothers, sisters, we are one
big family beneath our sun.
All butterflies are pretty things
regardless of their varied wings.
As trees bear fruits both tart and sweet,
they all are welcomed as a treat.
So turn the key of LOVE for you...
set free acceptance, deep and true.
Unlock the joys you're worthy of...
three keys of life...faith, hope, and love.

Fervent wish within your eyes speaking with realistic
Optimism, visible for hope for the future
Reflecting exquisite dream-fullness of mystic nights in your eyes
Ethereal, you are in this perfect world of ours
Volcanic and miraculous things happen with a touch of
Euphoria as we feast with whirling ecstasy in our souls that fights for ever
Refreshing, in such a delicate way that it seems too perfect
I imagine your eyes speaking to me as we venture through
Newfound impulsive existence welcoming universe
Your questions always answered, like the waves coming in from the
Ocean, as we sit embracing on each other’s warmth, watching time pass
Under a roof of celestial stars, until each dawn waxes and wanes
Rapidly breathing deep into the golden sand of our sandcastle
Envisioning our life together, willingly, and joyfully blooming spirit
Youth in a blink, as high in the branches rendering to fields of beauty
Extending to the golden illuminating rays of sunlight
Safe, spacious, life binding with God’s sight

In tune with this familiar vibe, let’s wonder how it might be
Across the room our eyes will meet, a set of four
In a place setting reserved for two, captivated
Our everyday routines and thoughts will speak
Through the eyes, uninhibited, grooving in the same skin
Once upon a raging fire we’ll celebrate
The memory of that zing thing, we'll watch as it
Circles slowly into softer flames, flickering
Well-suited as old comfortable shoes
And continue enveloped in life's mystical sound
More sensible, aware of the need to be inward
Or outward at different times, we'll find pleasure
In being tired wild things, slowing down in our swings
If it breaks and cracks we’ll pledge not to notice
So, just for the sake of thinking that it might not last
Before it’s even begun, let’s just wish upon hope
Until we meet, and vow to be good to each other
In this moment, tonight
