Best Going Around In Circles Poems
Written March 29, 2013
mother. father. always you wrestle inside me
When I was 8 years old
I got a model train set for Christmas
Not a slingshot or BB gun
Instead of going around in circles
I moved it right off the tracks
How it crashed and burned
When I was 12 years old
My father told me "son,
Don't you lose my best rod and reel
Or bend the strings that I strung"
So I jumped in the ocean
Setting these wheels in motion
This could be such a simple song
But how we were wrong
When I hit the big 2-0
I found a delicate flower
In the old junkyard field
I thought I'd give it to momma
But when I brought home that flower
The petals fell off in the shower
Adam's tale ended tragic
And so does this song
When I breathed in the chemicals
And felt so alone
Such a precious regret that they own
That I never had friends in my own home
Life is a horror story
Without a plot twist
My life was a mystery
Where everyone did it
Now were stuck on the precipice
Without a third wish
This could be such a simple song
But how we were wrong
My sadness is a blind worm
Digging and going forward
Onward and downward
Toward an imagined light
To see
Thought is weak, a leaky bucket
My heart is heavy, my eyes are bloody
I smile to a world that does not care
Or even notice that I am dying
To be seen
Clear skies, the stars are gone
Sudden clouds are a grin, mocking me
My head is spinning from looking up
And going around in circles; there’s nothing
To see
Words are traffic signs on the
Highway of my soul; stop ‘n go
Life’s a dead end, a one way street
Tires screech, here I stop, hoping
To be seen
The Wheel
is always turning.
The wheel of consequence —
The wheel of liberation —
The wheel in one’s chest
trying to find its place in the machinery of the world —
It can take you anywhere, this wheel,
all roads are open to it,
the dark roads of consequence —
the bright roads into the spacious sky —
The wheel is always turning,
headed somewhere,
taking the long way,
the short way,
trying to get somewhere,
trying to find its center,
going around in circles trying to get back to the beginning,
the eyes of the spokes turned outward,
looking, searching,
emerging like rays of light
from a point of stillness,
a beginning they cannot see,
the beginning the path will never arrive at
the beginning that was never left behind —
but it is only the path,
only the turning,
that can finally reveal
the one thing that has never changed,
the place where all journeys begin and end.

GOING AROUND IN CIRCLES
"aaron to Moses, I'm telling you, Bro, I have seen that bush before"
Indiana Shaw . . .
"Too much bush weed, and not enough direction" . . . ; )
Siren on the rocks
wearing a see through veil
your irresistible, I’ve been following your beguiling trail
Siren by the cliff
I’m blinded by your voice
a tongue so beautiful at last I now rejoice
Siren on the shore
I’m drowning can’t you see
please dance one last time,
dance on top of me
A ship wreck
a nervous wreck
I wanted to be seduced, what the heck
Tired of the sea, bored to death
clinging to a drop of water, I sink into the depths
A prosaic life finessed within a brick
harnessed between mortar, propped up by sticks
Merely hanging on, nothing ever happened
on the level, plodding along, grinding to a halt
Foundation was never solid, it’s my own stupid fault
Damn this withered earth, going around in circles
following a ball of fire, how basic life denies, I don’t care anymore
Dance on me siren, trample me as I die
That song you sing, I’ve heard it once before
chanting incantations, swaying to and fro
Reassuring me, if I ever had a doubt
life was meaningless, up until now
that song her song is beautiful
Yes I remember it somehow
never again shall I forget
as she tramples me to death

I feel like I'm falling…….
And there's no landing in view
I can't breathe…….
But there is no air left in my lungs
I crave love and want to be loved
But my heart gave out many moons ago
I am thirsty……….
But there is no water in sight
I feel like I'm going around in circles
with no way out. Wait! I think I see a
way out. No it's just another turn. I'm
stuck and I can't get out. Is this a maze?
Dam it is a maze. I'm caught up in
a never ending circle called life. My
life is a maze. Can you relate? Have you
ever felt like your life is merely a maze?

I'm not bent, I'm broken...
Not another word spoken...
No giving... No take...
Just one big ing mistake...
No forgive... No forget...
No time left to regret...
No future... No past...
Everything is far from my blast...
How will I ever understand my past...
No holding on... No letting go...
How will I ever know...
My life is a joke...
Without the coke...
People just love to poke...
No egg to my yoke...
No destiny... No fate...
But differently hell's gate...
My soul is in disrepair that's how I know...
I'm standing right there...
People determined to do me wrong & still expect me to remain strong....
No heaven... No earth...
Maybe one day I will make a choice that works for me...
Instead of sitting on my **** with a cold cup of tea...
Feeling sorry for poor little old me...
Sad **** choices are my only mistake...
My life is a mess, not just from heartache...
Going around in circles seems to be my thing...
Little hope... Little dope...
I wish I could fake it, but nope...
My life & me are the funniest thing you'll ever see...
This Is My Life Unfortunately...
Do you ever feel like you're going around in circles?
No matter how far you travel, you always end up right back where you started.
Every decision you make spawns the same results, as if on a carousel that never stops.
Each day you revolve to a future that mimics the past.
Caught in a loop of time and space, a twisted cosmic rerun of your life.
It's enough to give you a severe case of vertigo.
You attempt to walk forward, but veer into a wall and fall on your face.
Is it some comical dance perpetuated by a mad puppeteer?
Are we just dopes on a rope?
Or is it just me?
On the floor
dancing to the beat,
going around in circles
no time to have a seat.
On the floor
making up dance moves,
shaking my booty
getting into the groove.
On the floor
just being myself,
dancing around in circles
with the music, my body melts.

Got the inspiration for this song, while listening to J Lo.
Your diary is filled with dates of meetings and functions that you have to attend; graduation ceremony and wine tasting events and meeting with the press secretary.
I wasn’t sure if your assistant had documented it properly, but every time a special date is announced for the meeting you change it to another month.
Her auntie traveled all the way from India with spices and lots of surprises for the biggest event of her life, but she has to pay a heartfelt sacrifice.
When she arrived, the city was turned upside down and water had flooded the entire town so the event was cancelled and a new date was arranged.
Sometimes the joy becomes pain and people think that you are insane but the trouble is there to break the bubble and set you on the right track again.
You keep going around in circles flipping through the diary pages looking for that special space to write down another date.
There is a long list of appointment staring at you, dinner with the ambassador, and lunch with the foreign secretary and meeting with the poor people in the community and then there is a dentist appointment and an international engagement.
Take a good look at your diary and look for that special event; it is the date for your child’s first day at school and a meeting with your high school friend.
There are some dates that you should not miss and some places that you should not cross but if you forget to attend her birthday, you must make it up the following day.
Don’t forget the carnival and the date to launch the new show, remember to order cheesecakes puddings and pies and the new recipe for the entire family.
And when the day is done you will have a whole village on the run, bags and pans, luggage on trolleys and baggage gathered in one place. You must wait for your cue to know when you are through, nothing happens before the time so circle the date.
Be careful of premature and hasty decisions, because the dead will come and hunt you before your time is through. Check your dates and give me a call before it’s too late.
Love, those tears you wouldn't shed;
Let me be the one to shed them for you.
Yes, the world is full of uncertainties;
And yes I understand you are unsure,
And well, that is alright too.
Of course there is nothing new under the sky,
And well all of us might be going around in circles,
And of course there is nothing that I can assure you of;
Rather I will let you know, you can lean on me.
I know you are afraid to change;
You have lived this way your whole life,
And honey I think it's alright that you are afraid;
It's terrifying to let go of all the anger that you have festered your whole life.
Love, I won't tell you who to be or what to be;
I met you as such; the journey is your own;
And I believe you will grow at your own time;
I don't believe you have to be perfect;
You just have to be,
Just know I am here for you
She says she just wants to be friends, no title, but I bet
you she never had a man worship the ground she walks
on no false idols. So I do those little things, not looking
for recognition just wanna show her what she's missing
no premonition, more like repetition, but she reminds me
friendship is still the mission. Listen, I play the fence so
vividly, she's holding her emotions but I know she's
feeling me. Timing is everything no one likes the dating
scene, so cliche right just a Queen looking for her King.
But she doesn't wanna be crowned, no not yet, her exes
had her heart in jeopardy like Alex Trabek, never let em
see you sweat, that's how they think nowadays, seeking
love but @ the same time the heart is a full court mess.
Just friends, that's what she says she wants to be, maybe
because commitment nowadays looks far from free, and
she isn't ready for all of me. Patience is still a virtue, even
if the heart has your mind going around in circles. I been
told I'm the hopeless romantic, so excuse the chivalry I
display even sometimes I can't stand it. But I'm just being
me right, we just friends but it feels like prom night, I'm
wrong you're right I need to stop it, making you a priority
when you just wanna be my option. But its so evident, I
just want a lil more from you, we don't have to commit
no ulterior motives but I wanna be the one who you can
run to.
Are we going around in circles again
I've got a feeling I can't abide when
We love each other with such a passion
Or just do it because it's all in a fashion
When we do our dance as we swayed
How many nights have we gazed
As a full moon dances through sky
Will we find out our reasons why.

I look around and all I see
is greedy people chasing me
so selfish, uncaring.
How could we love another species,
if we can't love one another first?
We want things now,
but forget the process.
Patience isn't always the enemy.
I try to remember things happen for a reason;
but its tough when you're lying in feces.
Everybody's in a rush,
think they're going somewhere;
all their simply doing is going around in circles.
Paper has now become our everything,
can't live without it.
Wonder what the future holds
if we keep going.
