Premium Member A Strange Galaxy

When I gaze into this realm, I see more than the dazzling array
of golden starbursts floating in a cosmic sea of blue-green-gray,
photoreceptors painting post-Impressionistic explosions of colors,
fibers and dilator muscles servicing your ocular aperture.

I see distinctive melanin patterns of a truly original individual -
a retinal scan of exceptional singularity,
each nebula unique, every supernova peculiar,
      no quasar like any other.

I passionately absorb with one brief glance
     an infinity of nuance,
   an eternity of historical archives,
a heaven and earth of emotional journeys.

I am reading your autobiography, the encyclopedia of you.
I remain a student of your sclera,
   a pupil of your pupils,
       a Vincent of your irises,

going half-mad with the dizzying vastness
of the starry night within your eyes.

Premium Member Where Are You Earth

In the middle of the Universe, I stand-
my mind attempting to comprehend
the scope and wonder
exposed upon these printed pages
within this book of astronomy and space.

One hundred billion galaxies-
one hundred octillion stars-
trillions of them are suns like ours;
unfathomable to my human mind.

Through these pages,
in the middle of the universe, I stand
in awe, and ask-

Where are you Earth?
I see our galaxy, our Milky Way- full-color
on this wondrous special page,
and I almost miss that little speck-
that speck, our world,
with cars and people bustling here and there-
bridges, trains, skyscrapers, jets,
blue oceans with majestic ships;
the wonders of our age-
our great, important, busy, busy world.

Where are you Earth
amid this cloud of dust?
I find you on this page with straining eyes,
so lost among the stars, the planets, moons-
one hundred billion galaxies
one hundred octillion stars—

My home- my Earth,
a little speck,
a microscopic grain-
caught up in cosmic winds- with all the rest.

CHRYSALIS

Sitting in silent reverence
I gaze upward towards your galaxy...
The endless canopy stretched out
Before all eyes...
An infinite splendor of
Light, energy, portals, stars
Mysterious unknown spaces

Silent notes fill my soul
Playing my heartstrings
Reminding me of ancient memories
Memories of...
Our journey together

Inside the chrysalis
I embrace you...
Growing together
Intertwined in color and form and design
We breathe as one
We expand and sprout into life
Preparing to fly

Birthing at the same moment
I reach my moist orange wing
Out into the calling air
As my outer shell falls away
Your wings move slowly
Drying in the breeze

Twins we are
Twin butterflies embarking on
Our journey upward
Rising and turning we ride
The warm air funnels
In joy and delight
We laugh in our own language
As moondust beckons us further

We melt into darkness
In an instant light is eclipsed
I can only see the glow
Of your eyes
Color is absent

Glow...Glitter...Reflection...Shine
Orbs of light and time above us
Blue Black transparent silk
With a million pinholes of light
Shining through

A nod to the Creator
How grand you are
How magnificent
Everything as it is...
Perfect intention and magnitude
With alignment of essence

To swim in the stars
To dive into the Milky Way
To ride a comet until its
Last breath of light dies

There is no greater gift
My heart sings and rejoices
For the consciousness of
This moment in time

Looking down on Mother Earth
I see her and I love her
I see her Creator hold her gently
Glittering webs of tears and light
Connect us

Galaxy and stars and earth...
We pulse together
We exhale together
We bleed together
We are one

Galaxy Spirals

My galaxy spirals in incubation of sacred dream
The 5th element, silent and unseen
Sparks the immortal flame within my skin
Spiritual mother turns my world
The life that is both old and new
Blends in unison and in truth
The maiden sings her song so pure
The mother hums a lullaby of star and moon
The crone groans on in an ancient tongue

Inspiration of this earthen home

Re: Galaxy Blood

You’ve got galaxy blood running through your veins. You’re my metaphor, you are my past, present, and future. You are everything beautiful, you are a wind that urges a cloud past a star. You dissolved my cloud, you revealed a galaxy behind my eyes. You make up every jagged, misfit edge in my heart. You complete me entirely as the sun gives the moon light to shine on their own. You’ve got galaxy blood running through your veins, darling, and there is no way anyone could possibly dim the bright, black space within you. You encompass everything I want to be. You are strength. You are brilliance. You are holding me to your chest when I am the furthest from lovable I’ve ever been. You are my hand to hold when I am reaching out to Death himself. You match the thunder of your heart to the pathetic tap mine makes against my ribs. You take over when I burn out. You breathe life into me with your words

and your smile, oh your smile, Abigayle Faith, is the most breath-taking thing I’ve ever had the pleasure to witness. They say a smile can brighten a room but yours darling, your smile has the power to brighten the cavern in my soul. Your smile illuminates the pit of black nothing I have a bad habit of falling into. Your smile brings me to tears, knowing you are happy. You are never happy. You are radiating with life always.

So thank you for writing for me and about me. I may not be good with understanding your sarcasm and I sure suck at paying you back for all the money I’ve borrowed but hell, this is the best I can do. I love you to the very edges of your existence. I love you down to the very depths where no one but you has traveled to with trepidation. I love the thoughts in your head and the words in your mouth.

Thank you for not giving up on me. Thank you for loving me to the very bitter end. Thank you for rain soaked Converse and every pleading gaze and every squeeze of your hand and those words you burned into my wrists: “You Can Make It.” Thank you for your galaxy blood. Thank you for making me a part of your glow. Thank you for lighting my Candle once more.

Galaxy of Crystal

Reader of star stories – far flung destinies
Enclosed within a midnight crystal dome
Filled with flecks of leftover stardust
Cosmic plane of star-crossed constellations
And dust storms of the lost transcendent light -
Clearly sees through falling astral luminaries
And hopes tossed up for the first twilight star;
A gypsy crossing galaxies of interstellar legend –
A woman with starry vision clad in nebula silk
Woven from threads of spiraling chambers -
Knocks at a door with no handle
Star princess – celestial royalty – spends the night
Leaving bits of stray star clusters
To enchant the eyes of a dream child
At the stargate of the dusky etheral.

Thank you Line for your inspiration. I missed the contest but your theme set me spinning into a celestial wonderland!

Syzygy

Turquoise tides,
                                  scintillating
                                    traces
                                      drape hushed prairies
                                        in indigo hues.

                                         Dancing to
                                          ballads
                                         of wild breeze,
                                        love soaks
                                     enchanting
                                   moonlit waves,
                                down the crevice in
                             galactic syzygy;

                                                   blend
                                            me in your halo.

Syzygy is a linear configuration of celestial bodies by conjunction or opposition(usually during lunar or solar eclipse). It also represents the fusion or a pair of opposing elements(for instance, the conscious and the subconscious minds).

On a planetoid in our galaxy
lives a being of illumination;
spinning stardust from her palms,
in colored chromatic ecstasy.

Like ribbons flowing from her hands
that whip and whirl in lunar-play;
she crafts rainbows in motion,
electric neon swirling bands.

Brilliant cascade of locomotion
bobbing lights in outer space;
look up to the heavens in wonder
at her bright harmonic ocean.

Premium Member Galaxy of Feelings

She looks through flickering candlelight, at his shining eyes
There's a galaxy of feelings, a million stars in the skies
She wants to ask him, will you take me where you are?
So she can wish upon every sparkling star...
She holds back a tear, so it won't splash on his happiness
She wants what is best for him, more than stardust, nothing less
She retreats to the shadows, in the corners of her mind
She believes it is her, who he will never find...
She wonders what could have been, if he had traveled far?
She wishes for him the light of every single star
She is actually home alone, sitting in her own sorrow
She believes it is her, who he may never know...
Then she hears a knock at the front door
She opens it to find him, standing on her floor
Tears of joy burst through silence, as he holds her tight
She learns he's known her all along, on this special night
As the candlelight flickers, a galaxy of feelings, they sit still
She has loved him for all these years into forever, always will

You Wanted A Galaxy

You wanted me to give you a galaxy
But I could only reach for the stars
You wanted my everything
But I only wanted your arms

Milky Way Galaxy

At night the sky
Becomes an entire new world
To the human eye

The moon
Sometimes as round as a soccer ball
Appears as it begins to get dark

A million tiny bright lights
Called stars
Appear like specks of dust
Out of nowhere

And soon I am outdoors
Observing the planets like mars
And also the Milky Way galaxy
With my trustworthy telescope

Premium Member Falling Into a Galaxy of Stars

We have arrived...
to the street with no name
where we have been ushered in like prisoners
hypnotized by the pulse of excitement

There is an almost reverent calm
just before the storm
I wait for the rhythm of my blood
 to paddle back to shore

My eyes are wide, my soul in chains
waiting for the reign
ringed by the flood of fanfare
but sitting on a wide desert plain

Hands grasping a torch of white
to light up the dark
and arms waving wildly,
while bright sparks
sink freely, into a galaxy of stars

Deep within the heart, we are one...neither stranger, neither star, ...we are one
We will run, but we can't hide, ...they will tear down the walls we've built, until we have bled inside

We have climbed the highest mountain, we have run through fields of bliss
we have scaled the walls, and more, ...for this,... and have found what we've been looking for....
