PRAY THAT SOON WILL COME BETTER DAYS

Soldiers on patrol-
drones on radio control…
They gain ground…as walls come crumbling down

Fire streaks through the night-
embers burn in daylight…
They all lose their minds… watching innocents die

Chorus
Well I just don’t understand,
what they’re fighting for
After counting the lost lives,
have they really WON the war?
After all’s been said and done,
and the sand’s blown away
(You’ve got to) pray ...
there will soon come better days

See the mothers weep-
their dead strewn on the street
They mourn so forlorn, the day they were born

The tears not only flow-
but, they just grow and grow
Where hope’s an absurd word that is rarely heard

Chorus
Well I just don’t understand,
what they’re fighting for!
After counting the lost lives,
have they really WON the war?
After all’s been said and done…
and the sand’s blown away…
(You’ve got to) pray ...
there will soon come better days

Running through their veins,
ecstasy and cocaine,
Thugs are so smug, selling them their drugs

The mirror speaks so clear-
the enemy’s still here
Survivals chance is slim, as he looks back at him

Chorus
Well I just don’t understand,
what they’re fighting for!
After counting the lost lives,
have they really WON the war?
After all’s been said and done…
and the sand’s blown away…

(You’ve got to) pray...
there will soon come better days
(You’ve got to) pray...
there will soon come better days

Survival : Epic Contest

The snow mobile stops and sinks to the level of the snow, no more to go
Which way do I take for shelter the sure or the maybe
Deciding on a surety hoped the 200 miles was the best option … but how
can I survive this, gathering the necessities in a bag light enough to carry
leaving a note on the vehicle I start my journey slowly

snow shoes aren’t easy to manoeuvre when you’re tired and afraid
must gain ground by nightfall a shelter of snow to make.
Plenty of boiled water to keep me going today, but hunger tangs can’t be laid
Food: I must make a hole to fish, a fire to make and that shelter to build

I cut blocks of snow and make a shelter for the night
Had means of lighting a fire to give the bears a fright, cut a hole to fish
Am sitting here like a child with stick and string hoping for a bite
A great big tug tells me one is here, I pull with my might to land it near.
Hit its head to kill him with ease, I cut up and cook enough to please….

Suddenly I hear a whimpering noise I look up to see
A husky type dog looking at my tea, I throw it some fish didn’t touch the sides
As with a big gulp was soon in his insides, then he laid down close to me
Sharing my water and fish and the fire …..

Weird sounds of nature all through the night
My sleep was shallow as I worked out my plans
Had an early fish breakfast then started to walk
Had a companion with me didn’t feel so alone on these many days
Looked for berries not the white ones am told…will
Keep up my strength until I get home…..

The greenery I am advised are precarious to devour
Best keep to fish and berries a little every hour
Oh my what’s this lumbering this towards us
A bear , a black one, pulled my anorak over my head, I pray
Arms akimbo so I looked huge and made very noisy yells, bear walked away

A trappers hut smoke I can see, hope he will be as pleased to see me

To Put It Bluntly

8/3/18

Life is not just about being world renowned
Or wearing a crown

Currently lost instead of found
In your eyes, I can see the pain, right now
Get rid of that frown
Gain ground
Turn your life around
Hold it down
Don't be a clown
Unless you want to drown

Not too late to rebound
Make your mom proud
She deserves to be feeling up in the clouds

If only more people went to the pound for a hound

To put it bluntly
I'd be lucky
To find someone that loves me
In a world that can be so cold and ugly

Thinking somebody would care
Looking around everywhere
And never seeing anyone there

Torment and despair
You got to be aware that life will never be fair
It's something that needs to be put into the air

Too bad if it's more than you can bear
Don't be scared
Get prepared
To reach beyond the top of the stairs
So start earning your share
Since everything experiences eventual wear

Got yet another itch
Which is getting rich

It's time to take some risks
Use your gifts
Keep your wits
About you, and watch your six
Because life is full of tricks
And can be hit and miss
Don't call it quits
Persist and have your spirit uplift
If you really want to get your fix
Watch out because you might get more than you wished

Before life starts to fade
And ending up in a grave

Be brave
Turn the page
Make a change
Regardless of it feeling strange
Soon enough paths are paved
If you gave your all and never caved

Premium Member Content of Character - In Memory of Dr Martin Luther King Jr

Why can’t we be judged by the content of our character?
Are we now racist, because of white privilege and black lives matter?
This is our new wall, racism is still dividing,
these two profound statements are creating bitter chatter.

Dr. King lost his life because of his dream in 63,
segregation is what this great man envisioned would one day leave.
The architects of our Republic intended all men to be free,
our declaration of independence is what we now need to believe.

As a people we need to remember, all of our positive achievements,
we need to move forward and continue to gain ground.
We need to focus on life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
We are all created equal, this evident truth has got to be found.

We all need to sit down at the table of brotherhood.
Everything we do right now, needs to be done together.
We need to erase all of our anger and live here as one people
if we join our hearts, there is no storm we can’t weather.

Shadow

I've been waiting for someone to shed some light,
To take my hand and lead me back
Into the arms of the earth.
I've been ankle-deep in frost-kissed puddles,
Wishing for the welcome mat to sweep me
In out of the rain, and into their flame.

Are you the flame
That I've been looking for? You make my head light
In a way that isn't amatory, but in a way that makes me
Wonder if calling it love would make you send me back
From whence I came, and lick me into puddles
Till I seep straight into the earth.

You beckon me to your earth
Like a lantern's flickering flame,
But you're not burning out. You illuminate the puddles
That used to be my oceans, battle my dark with your light.
You gain ground until I am naked and taken aback,
Because the exposure does not strip me

Raw-- in fact, it envelopes me.
We've got our feet planted firmly in the earth,
Neither scaring easily nor asking for our words back.
And I beg how long it's to last, this flame;
Upon that subject, I squint away from the light
Expecting you to tread through me like puddles,

The way a child stomps on rainy street puddles,
Finally turning on your heel to flee me.
Through the trees overhead pokes a sweater sewn of light
That soothes the permafrost into a softer earth
When the sun's flame
Strokes its back.

Should I hold this back
On the tip of my tongue, till the words form puddles
In my mouth? Or would it be better that the flame
Consume me?
I could live out my years masked by earth
Or brave the touch of light.

I heave my hopes back with me,
A dam oozing puddles, white-knuckling the earth.
If I let go, will the flame leave me a shadow, or a light?

Summer Steam

Thinking back now my dreams are eerily reminiscent
Of every mistake I made in my decent.
Of every joke and priceless muse,
Every smile that she gave me, as her mind I perused.

I hate summer, it never gave me hope or want,
‘Till she came in, giving me memories that still haunt.
The sight was so familiar, an air of innate grace,
The mix of unrefined Circean beauty, painted so perfectly on her face.

Oh, Wanton lust, adoration unbound,
Betraying my every move, I could never gain ground.
It happened, we happened, the unceasing desire was filled,
But with a single mistaken word of betrayal, my fate was sealed.

Still I wish for it, to take back that un-kept promise,
To return to her, what she readily gave to me, a glimpse of solace.
What takes years of readiness, sometimes a lifetime to find,
I had for just one moment and then left it behind.

This reoccurring dream keeps telling me that I shall never find,
Not one moment of hearts peace, no more placation of mind.

Friend Zone

On a game field of the greenest grass
We’d touch, I’d run, and you’d pass.
I’d gain ground and you’d intercept.
Every game, we leapt and swept
Into the end zone to a climatic end;
Nothing left to defend or offend,
Too many touchdowns to surmount,
No personal injuries or fouls to recount.
Then, offsides, false start, taunting?
Your penalty flags left me wanting,
Challenging every yellow thong thrown;
Then ejected, exiled to the Friend Zone!

Bleak Fields

In a cold bleak field, a soldier lay dying.
There were others around him, Who also were crying, -
The medics had already tried to gain ground,
But the incessant chatter of maxims and mausers,
That chewed up the grass and the mud all around
kept the bravest of brave, from risking his trouscrs,
And the dying from living, or their mothers from Sighing.

There have been so many wars Since then,
And it always requires the death of brave men,
The brave politicians, of course take great risks,
A successful conflict can enhance their career,
But if it goes wrong, he might lose that post,
That would give him an extra big pension to boast.
He certainly won't have to think about death,
In a field were those Young men, gasp out their Last breath.

Whatever happened to the war to end wars,
A whole generation Swore, that never again,
Would nations commit to a spurious cause,
Were their young died before they were men,
But people are all very easily fooled,
And hatred is very easily fueled
Remember this principle and use it to judge,
The cause is not right if there's anyone dead.

If Soldiers Aren'T Disheartened By Fright

If soldiers aren't disheartened by fright
and keep vigilant eyes on their target,
they surely will claim an extraordinary victory;
what does it take to win a battle, if not audacity?

To combat evil is to face the enemy boldly and fiercely,
humiliating him with awesome might, aiming high;
a defeat teaches the adversary to give up something...
would be dedicated and loyal soldiers turn their back on their country,
regardless of how undefeatable and cruel the adversary seems in reality?
Hasn't any wounded soldier invoked an impossible yearning?

Keep an eye on that dawning flag, hold its unbroken pole...
it must never fall on that barren ground stained by blood-red color,
lest a skirmish takes down the commander officer unable to yield;
fight harder, advance, and gain ground make a horrifying noise,
scare them away: this tactic has worked on a Roman battlefield:
amid explosions, screams, and bloody corpses, there's no choice!

If soldiers aren't disheartened by fright, they'll face death fearlessly;
their oath can't be broken by fear, treachery, demise, or defiance;
even today the youngest ones show their patriotism and loyalty
to lead their country to victory with the willingness of sacrifice!

Cheetah

Creeping up stealthily,
cushioned claws
cautiously gain ground.
Claws retract, amber eyes
covet the prey,
concentration heightens and the
chase begins.

Vengeance Is the Sweetest Nectar

Vengeance Is The Sweetest Nectar

What will it take for the dawning of the truth,
Deny all the gutter trips, mangled by your sweet tooth.
Deceipt, and deception, immerse eternaly into luster,
Aroused by the desire to possess, a longing to bluster.

Shallowly, you held your head high, for respect of ones friends,
A reputation with-held so proudly, you'd die in the midst,to defend.
Frauds, phonys, imposters, you choose years of bona fide passion,
YOu disregard, shunned, from your heart entirely, second hand out-of-date
fashion.

When the time finally hails, to the angels whom doomed upon that
May,
You treasure their memories, cry vengeful loyal tears, on the fifteenth day.
Then forgotten, the meaning of life, of family, of the upmost respect,
Your pride over powered, the once, beliefs you selfishly grew to neglect.

When needed the most, their words retire so careless,
To an unhonest path, out to get you, conspiring for vengeful consequence,
leaving your soul airless.
I told you they lie, to your face, to gain ground you once dominated,
Step into the archway of heavens true path, love your son, the one that supported,
number one nominated.

Gift People Their Roses

"Every struggle in my life has been a lesson and made me stronger."
                            Quote by _Constance La France

Gift people their roses

Gift people their roses while still around,
unspoken words continue to benight,
do not wait until they are graveyard bound.

Let your heart and lips master that sweet sound,
tell them you love them from your being’s height,
gift people their roses while still around.

Breathe in the air where butterflies fly round,
show gratitude to folks by matchless might,
do not wait until they are graveyard bound.

Weed nettles creeping on a fertile mound,
when trees have leaves and berries still bedight,
gift people their roses while still around.

Allow those kinds of beliefs to gain ground,
tell them they inspire you and feel all right,
do not wait until they are graveyard bound.

A life, with lilies and marigolds crowned,
on worth and value will shine a bright light,
gift people their roses while still around,
do not wait until they are graveyard bound.

Word Assurance

Word in words logically scraping speech
Word of words unlock hardened heart as priest preach
Word by word's exposition gain ground as sounds beseech
Word for word's daring compliment duly change to teach

Divided in divisions attentively awaiting wide open gate
Divide to divide confusion aiming to get hearts bait
Divide by dividing queries lured into an unending debate
Divide for divisions to be silent and no longer dictate

Born to burn boredom caressing darkness
Born to burn darkness' borne without prior awareness
Born of birth beyond scientific's cleverness
Born new birth- a magic yet amazing craziness

Light in fireworks beeping loosely creativity
Light lighting calm minds out of captivity
Light enlighten strangers' feet cum selectivity
Light lightening end afar when gold kisses negativity

Cool in cooler calming hotness foaming to burn tongues
Cool by cooler good at its usage correcting wrongs
Cool to cooling feet climbing life's ladder on open rungs
Cool for cool voices singing solemnly new hope songs

Freeze in frozen minds embracing caution to trap temptations
Freeze by free birds not returning for mothers' invitations
Freeze up freeman growing wings beyond limitations
Freeze out free Israelites wandering around manipulations

Hear tell ears of peace to pieces arrogance and ego
Hear from air blowing hot and cold to choose where to go
Hear about seer ranting of rest to all workers by will sow
Hear of spear piercing others cum eon's toast fondling woe

Tear apart tears inner eyes soaked in burning delight
Tear pairing code leading grace prospects into fright
Tear cheers growing solid cheeks hurting plight
Tear wears inviting comfort to blind eyes seeing flight

Full of fools open to wide gate of sulphur's flame burning spring
Full of rules that guides legs against commands of the mighty King
Full of truth to energize night of unknown songs morning sing
Full of tools rectifying faulty connections disobedience bring

Sent to sentence saint into everlasting cell never dreamed
Sent to sentence joy overflow through grace highly esteemed
Sent to sense need for change to shame end as deemed
Sent to see how blissful saints live having been redeemed

Moving

I am moving, but is it forward or not
In a cycle of impulsive decisions i'm caught
Always pushing to barely make it through
I run without stopping, nothing is true
I make it to the end every time I try
But is it about that or what I passed by

Maybe i'm running in circles I don't know
My feet are moving but no distance to show
Fast paced life style; party every single night
Its about ultimate distraction from what's right
The irony is that that same escape takes
It will steal everything and create mistakes

I am a strong person and gain ground fast,
As long as I don't start dwelling on my past
I have to be very careful if I am ahead
I have been known to go backwards instead
See,When things are good they are really good
They come in clusters, just like the should

And such is life that bad comes that same way
we're bombed with hardships everyday
My spirit is littered with bruises left behind
It's scars are deep and can be found in my mind
Too much past I wonder if I will always be broken
There is a conversation that isn't spoken

So here I am at the beginning, another start
I am trying to replay where it began to fall apart
I almost feel like some things we cannot beat
We just have to start over, accept defeat
The war we rage is worth all of the fight
At the end of the day you just cant lose sight
