Best Full Strength Poems
I loved you from the onset ...
at the twilight of our first romantic sunrise
Fading rainbow rays of the morning,
our love had such young, bright eyes
Dashing across the field of promises,
under the full strength of the sun
We had a love so vibrant,
a love so very young
Time had no relevance for us,
we were two star children
orbiting each other in love
The gravity of attraction
pulling us closer and closer each day
Heart to heart meetings
in a meadow on warm spring afternoons
Our lips in sync,
fingers caressing one another
Emotions moving in tune
We had a love so exuberant,
a love so maturing
As our summer of single, one-on-one happiness
merged into wedded bliss
We vowed to give our betrothed hearts
a passionate autumn kiss
Time was of no significance to us,
we were so madly in love
Thus, when our children budded
and their fruit fell from the family tree,
the radiant autumn sun
sparkled through the kaleidoscopic leaves
We had a love so enduring,
a love so faithfully strong
That over the years, our love has only grown
I loved you til the very end ...
as the dawn of sunset slowly settled in
The brilliant, golden rays of the evening years,
showed our love had such ancient, luminous eyes,
which dried away all the intervening tears
Sitting on the edge of winter's cold embrace,
basking in the ebbing strength of the sun
I see every loving moment in every wrinkle on your face
Now at the dawn of our setting sun ...
We have a love so timeless,
a love so ageless
A love forever young
There we were -
veiled in the sheer-yet-semi-private aura of morning twilight;
where only outlines can be seen
but where everything is felt in its full strength and purity.
In a sultry bed -
overstuffed with lost time
lost love and, now, repossessed love
we embraced each other.
Years have a way of tenderizing even the toughest hearts
as fertile tears water emotions;
the beauty of what was - was still there -
ready to rupture its bubbled captivity..
but as the home star streamed in through the eastern window
the curtain came down.

Panting, running, paying, fuming,
Bumping, swearing, hurrying, driving,
All because today is the thirty first
Of the month, why are we all nigh to burst!
Got to buy groceries, go the butcher
The dry cleaners, the florist, the baker,
Did i turn on the slow cooker?
Have guests coming at 8.00p.m still
On the road, home in 15 minutes – phone Will,
Darling, Did you collect the birthday cake,
There is a big accident, traffic hectic won’t make
It to pick it up – Yes sweetheart I have
Drive carefully the roads are crazy,
Looks like a storm brewing, weather drizzly and hazy.
As I arrive in our driveway it pours with rain,
And I drop a packet, which had the red wine, I stain
My clothes and the car seat, go have your shower,
Hubby says, relax, everything is under control,
Turned shower taps to their full strength and power
Exhausted, let the water run over my naked body
Till I feel refreshed, get dressed in my
Sexy black number,
And come downstairs, hubby gives me a wolf whistle,
Just wait till the guests leave he says, look at him
From under my lashes!
The aroma wafting from the stove is
Provocatively divine!
And next to the sofa is a glass of room
Temperature red wine.
Table is set, arrange flowers I brought in a vase,
Immediately, the bell goes ding dong,
It’s Cherry and Tim,
She couldn’t wait to show me her engagement ring,
Hot on their heels are Susan and Barry,
He has just asked Susan to him marry,
And last of all my twin sister Rina, arrives she’s wise,
With her new boyfriend in tow she bellows, Hi guys!
Fun was had and wine was drunk
Laughter abounded in the lounge and dining room,
We all forgot how tired we were and
It was end of the month, and all the media forecasted,
Was doom and gloom!
It was my birthday, turning forty, no turning back now,
Don’t regret a day of my life, bless the day I took my vow,
Happy birthday dear Mary, happy Birthday to you,
I felt blest had my hubby and sister present and select
Friends but few,
Mellow and happy and with certainly no one drunk,
Just four happy couples full of zest and funk!
Our guests began departing, in twos they left,
I slipped of my shoes and gave a big yawn,
Will picked me up, and must have undressed
Me – for all I remember is waking up to a peck
On my cheek,
And a scrumptious breakfast in bed,
I always knew I had picked the right guy to wed!
Well it’s not a laughing matter but I’m grinning once again,
‘cause out of nine of us at work, five have felt the pain,
of suffering as a ‘bloody idiot,’ after having a few beers,
and trying to do the wrong thing, which ended up in tears.
Before I tell you what one done; although I think you know,
If you want to drink and drive then there’s a chance you’ll blow
into a tube of crystals, that changes colour if your breath
contains a hint of alcohol; and that is certain ‘driving death.’
Now young Winston from the office is looking very glum,
for he tried to shun a breath test that as a rule of thumb,
is the silliest of options, so when he turned into a side street,
two coppers waited patiently and who Winston got to meet.
I lectured Winston on his silliness but young blokes never learn,
‘cause four blokes here before him have already had their turn,
at using ‘shanks’ pony’ transport to convey themselves to work,
and now they watch from footpaths where coppers tend to lurk.
But not me, I’m too smart for that; I told these bloody fools,
I would never drink and drive my car, or try and break the rules
by dodging breath test stations; and Winston dropped his head,
‘cause he didn’t heed my message but defied what I had said.
And I proved this at a Christmas party that we held last year,
when whisky started flowing and chased with full strength beer.
I was way above the limit but my car stayed off the road;
instead I took a bus home and I was still in drinking mode.
And sure as heck at Christmas time, a breath test station’s up ahead,
but coppers waved the bus through, what car drivers surely dread,
and I arrived home safely which surprised me quite a bit,
for I’d not drove a bus before and don’t know where I got it!
The high mountain range is in clear view
Like many other things I see that are new
The clouds are building to rule the skies
Still I stand here, without questions why
Another day, to know clearly what I see
Another beautiful day, with full strength
--- The mountains bring to me ---

"I am the blue-lidded daughter of Sunset;

NEITHER UNDERSTOOD, NOR EXPLAINED
I was believed the mightiest of all,
The thing known was only my countrymen soul.
I worked upon day and night in silence,
For my nation I had the path lf violence.
I commanded work with me, don't stop till you achieve,
There is only one priority from day to eve.
I spoke whatever I felt was right,
As my countrymen welfare was my sight.
Once, a winter night in days of battle,
I went out silently to see was everything settle.
Fog and mist was all around,
It was calm but then I heard a certain sound.
When I noticed the topic of voice was me,
So to listen, I got hidden behind the tree.
I was excited to know their views,
Being a king I still felt on head water dews.
In a moment my heart got jerk,
They spoke something which won't work.
I loved my countrymen by heart,
The had uttered something which hurt.
"He thinks him to be supreme,
Always thinks to command upon team".
Other said-"His pride is more above,
Nor countrymen has got his love".
For the first time I had such opinion,
I never thought from this vision.
Was I really of this way,
Should I go away or think here to stay?
Back to palace, I very well knew,
Tomorrow was the last battle of queue.
The watch striked midnight,
Somewhere in my heart dilemma was at its height.
Now I was at battle hours,
With my army I kept raising country towers.
We all fought with our full strength ,
Finally my country had all boundry length.
People celebrated the victory,
All together said I had created history.
I could hear appreciation everywhere,
But I knew many still blamed anywhere.
Within me, I knew I was correct,
Though many didn't knew this fact.
And I like constant never thought of loss and gain,
That why they neither understood ,I nor explained.
Life's important tool is time
It's value in life is prime,
Time is a precious gold
which makes us quiet bold,
Time gives us full strength
which holds our life's length,
Time can heal all wounds
& takes hundred of rounds,
Time makes us very strong
& blessed us to live long,
Life's important tool is time
it's value in life is prime,
Time says truth of life
who've blessings & who've knife,
Time gives us bunch of responsibility
which we've to done with full ability,
Time can take our test-on-test
in which we've to do our best,
Time says us last 'hiiii'
& we're giving a peaceful 'bye'.
Everything in life has a dance
this has always been God's plan
The gentle wind moving along a field of flowers
never losing their roots showing their full strength and power
The clouds of might who never put up a fight
move and sway across the heavens never fearful of God's light
The waters of the sea as they rock back and forth
each wave giving a tiny dance as they blend and enforce
The leaf on a tree no matter how small
will shake and shimmy to the dance of the fall
when in spring to God's song they will call
Even a child in the mother's lap she will lay
will rock and sway never thinking or worrying of the impending grave
A father in God's faith he would always stand
when dying and in pain praying,
'God carry me and bless me with a peaceful dance as you have planned'
Through his eyes I could see his last dance unfold
my tears I could not control
he did not sway or rock
he did not put up a mighty fight
he did not shake or shimmy
he did not stumble or fall
He took God's hand as the angels sang a soft song
and he danced his way into heaven and on the streets made of gold
Remember in life always from your heart to continue to dance
for as you sway to God's song and your hair moves softly
this is the hand of your father wishing you a life to dance
and to never stumble and fall.

Pray in times of doubt
Pray in times of drought
Pray when the skies are dark
Pray when the soul sin's caught.
Pray when the rainbow looms
Pray when the thunders boom
Pray when life's in disarray
Pray when the flowers bloom.
Prayer is the utmost height
Prayer is the saint's delight
Prayer's force no being can face
Prayer helps to walk the Light.
Prayer keeps the soul from death
Prayer gives the soul full health
Prayer pray from start to end
Prayer shows the saint's full strength!
The disciples loved Jesus
Scripture gives examples of how they cared for His needs
During the time of Jesus’ suffering and death
Most of His disciples abandoned Him
Even if they had stayed
They couldn’t have given to Jesus all that He needed
The full strength to triumph over His suffering
Death had to come from the Eternal Father
It is the same with us
We share our love with our families
What we do for one another is extremely important
But something essential would be missing in our lives if we lacked the inspirations
And guidance that can only come from Eternal God
We can experience these gifts when our hearts are quiet
Open to Eternal God’s presence within us
?
When the battle seem lost, and hope not nearby.
I'd remember my mother's voice saying to me
'Omo mi, you sef like your peers will go to school
So you can have a better fighting chance in life.
Like my peers,
I wasted four years of my adult life running
From pillar to post;
From fellowship to writing impromptu test.
To more test, homework and eventually
The 'oga kpatakpata' of them all examination.
I shut my eyes, heart to the happenings
Around me, I and something within me;
Somewhat a force worked hard daily,
So that I won't end up disappointing baami.
But the miles to gaining one's full strength
Is never close by.
To God I did my best,
But oga lecturer said
In the university system,
You have to scratch backs to pass, and
My parent didn't have enough hands to spare.
Throughout my curriculum,
I waged wars with hunger and despair.
I wore feigned smiles to class and played
The role of a merry - going fellow
Whenever I passed the administrative blocks.
'If I had known earlier that school was not meant
For me, I for kukuma nor go waste my time there.'
Goodbye friends and foes alike.
For the love you showed me
Whilst we were together, was insincere and spiteful.
Please now are forever take your eyes off me, you ruthless liars!
For your passage through this process was bought
With gifts both in cash and in selfless service to humanity.
Now If my father say to me,
Son why didn't you do what your mates did
In school to pass.
I'd reply my father saying,
But how do you expect me to live with myself.
For lying to others I can comprehend,
Not otherwise.
So please mama even though the world spite me
Love me dearly, for if I lose my sanity .
My fate will be far worse
Than those who are but only dead.

YOU ARE THE PAPER AND I AM THE PEN
Hi Jenn, glad you are writing a poem today,
And ecstatic you are drafting it in a
Happy and mostly pink notebook,
Which of course is me,
What on earth was it that took
You so long, to do this sensible thing,
You have thrown hundreds of sheets away
Screwed them up, and thrown in your bin,
To never see another dawn, or beautiful day.
Lock down WOW, I’m thrilled we must stay at home,
Will the virus lessen, because all will less roam?
Well “Pinkie Book” I couldn’t resist you
You looked so cute and extremely cheeky,
Your pages trimmed with freaky,
Skulls and ghosts, I really wanted this book
And since we have established you talk
Maybe you can go back in time
And find the scribbles that were discarded
That had no meaning, disregarded.
We have unlocked a mystery so profound
From Centuries ago, we will see it through
When this dreadful, horrible virus.
Is no longer a crisis!
As each of the flowers painted on the four
Corners of the paper nod their heads demurely
Makes me feel guilty if my pen is full of fury!
Let’s make a poem together said the pretty note-book.
With pleasure I replied!
There once was some pink paper, and a pen
Who were both owned by a poet called Jenn
She discovered the pink paper could speak,
This for Jenn was such a surprising treat,
Jenn, muse, talking pink pad destined to craft a gem!
Our President Cyril Ramaphosa addressed the nation last night,
The nation goes into lockdown by midnight Thursday night
With the full strength of the law and its might
Allowed a grocery store or get medication
Be quick and back with extreme trepidation
Unabiding Citizens army and police involved in this plight
Thank you dear Pinkie book, you really are so clever,
Stay here as long as you like, you are now a family member!
No hazel eyes are exactly the same, some cold, some hot.
Many people profess to have them, but many do not.
They do change colors with the clothes people wear
Becoming brown, blue or green, or black like a bear.
No blue eyes are exactly alike. Some sky-blue others azure.
Some are clear, others crinkly, some incredibly pure.
They come out in full strength when their owner wears blue.
I think they are delightful no matter what kind of hue.
No brown eyes are exactly alike. Some have golden flecks.
Some are Bambi eyes; many have colorful specks.
They can be intense and warm, or cold, chilly in fact.
Many look cozy in winter, a warm kind of pact.
Black eyes are the most diverse of all if you ask me.
They can have colors but don’t have to, dark as a tree.
I see these eyes and I smile, recognizing secrets kept close.
I rather think I like these eyes the utmost.
“Seriously,” the comedienne rasps: “can we talk about coffee?!”
The palms of my feet grind the beans in my sleep.
My bathrobe ties dangle, my hair’s unbrushed.
Can of spinach don’t do much, but caffeine aroma lifts me up.
The tilt wand opens my eyes, i can barely see through the slats
Sweet savory cream kisses my Olive Oil lips, Popeye laughs,
“A-gah-gah-gah-gah-gah!”
After two gallons, the pull cord opens the theatrical blinds, full strength.
