You gave me wings
to experience the
freedom of flight
my love.
You let me soar
the skies and beyond
into other universes
where consciousness
has no boundaries,
feels no weight,
nor limitations
of the earthbound,
only coherence with other
soul travelers exploring
the many dimensions
in light form.
How could I keep
begging you to stay
when your earthly body
yearned for that same
freedom of flight from
a world without
which you will not
return in my lifetime.
We joined our hearts in vows of
“until death do we part”
and I know I must accept
your departure with all
the love you would
have offered me
had my departure
preceded yours.
We always said that death
is but a station
on our journey home
to the afterlife.
It is my turn now
to give you the same
freedom you gave me
when we met.
I often see you now in
my peripheral vision,
just a ghostly glimpse
that lets me know
you see me
and you are still looking
out for me as the protective
mate you were.
I continue to fly now
but mostly at night
as my body sleeps.
I miss your masculine
embrace and my
heart still often weeps.

My love, the world is ours,
its reflective sapphire oceans,
its turquoise pine tree forests,
its topaz colored days,
its moonstone lit evenings.
My love, I'm certain it's us.
The amethyst citrine painted sunset
called our names right from its onset.
You are my never ending wide open sky
with a red orange coral moon up high.
So radiant is your glow, a sparkle in flight
how you shine - a spectrum of colors like light
through a crystal clear white garnet.
Your hair like flowing strands of pearls, crests
lightly to sit brightly on your opal shaded breasts
with their dark red inviting rubies set.
Your emerald green stare gentle with its powers
like diamond brilliant rays during sun showers.
Your divine allure
so true and pure
oft blinds me
and when I see
I see only you
like the jade dew
covers the morning lawn
on a sardonyx dawn.
You are the gem drives my joyous life,
the precious stone keeps my dreams alive.
You are indeed a jewel rare,
"who" I ask "could compare?"

When I close my eyes I hear the sound of your voice floating in the
air like dandelion fur, catching the breeze and dancing upward.
I remember the day when we camped in the rain and wrapped
ourselves in blankets to keep warm, hearing the acorn size
drops pelting the tent and feeling the rain vibrations explore
our coupled bodies.
How could I have known then what I know now …. the ancient
wisdom that you have carried with you since the beginning of time.
You speak to me …
Your words rise up in my soul
filling my being. I feel you gently
cupping my heart in your hands,
caressing it tenderly. Lifting your
arms above your head I feel the
warmth of the sunlight on my
heart. With eyes closed I bask in
the moment.
I am transported to flight as a white hawk
stretching my arms out into my new wings and alighting
on the warm current that lifts me higher.
I am surrounded ……
It is quiet as I glide. Looking downward
I dip one wing and then another. I let
myself be enveloped, conscious of the wind
on my feathers. I am free. Free to fly. Free
to take in all that surrounds me, all that is above me,
below me, the scents, the sounds, the silence, the
memories of past, and the vision of the future.
I am one with you.
Below winding rivers and streams make S shapes
and figure 8’s, dancing, curving and rolling
with winking glitter on their surfaces.
Dry red rocks dot their shores and a heat ….
A heat rushes by.
Onward, upward past towering pines reaching to
the sky whose tips call me with their green beauty.
They call. They sing. I hear their ancient voices, as
their seeds fall silently on the ground.
Leaning into a turn I dip one wing and
see water before me falling in the distance.
I am being called… beckoned onward.
There are answers ahead.
The mist clings to my feathers and
moisture coats me as I fly closer. The
water is my soul, my heart, my life.
Whiteness and sound thunder around
me and yet a peace resides within.
I am home.
Bebo was a bird
who could not fly
He kept flapping his wings
'cause he knew he must try
There were two other birds
that were laughing at him
As he was jumping and flapping
up high on a limb
It must be so hard
to be stuck in a tree
Said, those two silly birds
That were laughing at me
I do not like you
get out of my tree
Don't you have somewhere to go?
Don't you have somewhere to be?
Bebo then said
let me get back to my endeavor
Or, I'll be stuck in this tree
forever and ever
He knows he's a bird
he eats worms and sings
He just needs a good breeze
to get under his wings
Bebo worked hard all week
to get into the air
Then he started to cry
Yelling, this isn't fair
With tears down his cheeks
Bebo looked at the sky
He said, I know I'm a bird
so why can't I fly?
The wind then spoke out
and said, It's not how you try
You must climb to the top
You must get really high
Then open your wings
and face into me
I will help you find flight
just get up there, you'll see
Bebo went to the top
of his lonely old tree
He opened his wings
and, waited to see
The wind then picked up
and, carried him high
Bebo was laughing with joy
'cause now he could fly
From that day on
Bebo was happy with flight
He said goodbye to his tree
and, then he flew out of sight

They said the songbird
her wings twisted and torn
should quiet herself...
that the sky held no place
for the fragile or the worn.
Yet she kept a sky tucked inside her - a
place untouched by any hand.
At daylight she let her voice rise
and though her body stayed earthbound,
her song lifted past the edge of flight.
The wind slowed to listen,
branches bent nearer
and the horizon seemed to pause,
stirred by her willfulness .
Each note unlaced an old wound,
each chorus pushed against the walls
of a world that once turned her away.
Her feathers never mended,
yet her dream grew wide enough
to shelter every broken one who followed.
From her we understood:
reaching the sky
was never about wings at all.
Fight or flight mode always on
Can't explain to anyone
what is going on in life
Internal/External strife
"Take a breath; you'll be alright"
Set a match to dynamite
World without is going mad
World within is getting sad
Cortisol spikes all the time
Rarely am I doing fine
"Wake up! Someone's calling you!"
"Look around! There's much to do!"
Balance work and what's at home
You're fenced in, not free roam
Danger's waiting; don't go far
Bombs disfigure, leave a scar
"Caregiver" your major role
Try to keep it in control
Energy is on the wane
Losing marbles, can't stay sane
On decline is mental health
Send out feelers on the stealth
Do they know I'm on the edge?
Can't hold on to "live life" pledge
Eulogies their time to speak
During life, played hide and seek
No one came to find me here
Though they knew my life was drear
Fight or flight mode, cortisal
Will make sure I take the fall
When I'm laid there in the ground
Please, say silent! Not a sound!
Don't be sad; no, do not cry!
Don't you try to fathom why!
All is well; I am at peace
The fires in my life now cease
I'll enjoy a nice long sleep
Eyes all dry, for I'll not weep
Hope I'll hear that trumpet blast
Rise up and reach home at last
There in heaven all is well
Thankfully, I've skipped on hell
Here is only harmony
Fight or flight is history!

Beirut, Lebanon
Upon a glorious night
A burning fire lit upon my unrented spine
Deafened by fleeting sight
I flee the home that never was quite mine
Crushed in garish fight
Within the corridor I dare to flee
Blinded by his might
While all the sad spirits return to me
Oh Tempest, you blow in me hope
Of sorrow more true than any other light
Oh Tempest that guides my departed
To your soul so bright
Rejoining each of us—the broken-hearted
Upon that vaporous eve
Enclosed in bond beyond mortal grief
Lost to the foggy reef
The fog that so lingers in these glistening eyes
That vapor drew me near
Bedazzling more than the moonlit mirror
To where I see him fly
Twas a heart-reaching place I always fear
Oh Tempest, you blow in me hope
Of sorrow more true than any other light
Oh Tempest that guides my departed
To your soul so bright
Rejoining each of us—the broken-hearted
Between the beat of my breast
A heart that beats only for him
He slumbers in the clouds
The clouds that pour my poignant prose
Beyond the darkened seas
The wind does carry the scent of his bequest
Within the folding of the storm I cease to rest
Oh Tempest, you blow in me hope
Of sorrow more true than any other light
Oh Tempest that guides my departed
To your soul so bright
Rejoining each of us—the broken-hearted
To him my sorrows lay
And fall into the arms of strangers' trembling spine
As light and pain fall gray
Twas there they grayed and blended with the rain
Twas there they grayed and blended with the rain
Twas there they grayed and blended with the rain
Stepping into the dance
Gently taking your hand in mine
Entering the realm of infinite possibilities
Where passion and desire breathe as one
An eternal hug
Enveloping our laughter and tears
Swaying slowly
Your breath tickling my ear
We are guided by our mirrored hearts
Open to the ancient whispers within
Arms open wide in vulnerable flight
Encountering lavender vibrations
Nuances ~ miraculous moments
Distant drumming arrives
From within dense fragrant pines
Carried on silver musical notes
Pale turquoise sky
Brushes against our cheeks
We fill our lungs with moist cool air
Breathing in gratitude
Glorious heights surround us
Crag and gleam of crystal
Midnight ebony obsidian shafts
Gulls cry above
The smell of salty waves beckoning us below
I ride the foam in your welcome embrace
Glistening waves our chauffeur
Diving deeper
Into ocean’s chambers of kaleidoscope blue
Sunrays guide us
Coral’s fingers delight
Wearing mandarin, cranberry and apple green
We laugh as bubbles escape our smiles
Playfully gliding upwards
Our friends arrive
Regal parrot fish
Mosaic rainbow scales shimmering
Calling out to us
A sacred union gathering
Inclusive of all
Silent language is shared
Spellbound destinies of
Beauty and grace
Envelop us
Earth whispers
I hear her
I am here to receive
Nuances of flight and discovery
My senses warm with anticipation
Fragments of hope and desire
Pain and loss
Arrive on moonbeams of broken glass
Shattered dreams sing
Delivering silky threads
Glistening with seedlings of rebirth
Opening my heart, I close my eyes
Leaning forward into the warmth of the sun
Wearing my vulnerability on my sleeve
I dive headfirst off the cliff
Opening my arms to capture
The energy of the moment
Fingertips outstretched, reaching out
Beckoning encounters with the here and now
How wonderous to receive you
Dear light and love
I journey into what was – what is - and what will be
Messages arrive from you
Feathered musical notes
Cries from the lonely ones
Howls from the night animals
Thunderheads boom in the distance
Piercing the velvet blackness
A warm wave caresses me as you glide by
Tickling me with your tailfeathers
Magic in motion as time stands still
Inside the teardrop I gaze outward
Immersed in the beauty of
What it means to be alive
Persimmon heartbeats envelope me
A gentle rhythm as we rise
To the downy envelope between
Earth and sky
Gliding in peace and unity
Through star crusted waves of
Lavender light
Exhaling gratitude
Elevating Heart
Sweat of Life
Piercing pain of Sorrow
Pendulum of gratitude in motion
How fortunate to experience
To Feel
To delight in the depths of emotion
I burst knowing I am capable of such workings of the
Heart, mind and soul
I am you
You are me
We are we
We are one with each other, with nature,
With the sky, the stars, the moon,
With the creatures of the ocean blue depths,
With the feather tips of ancient falcons,
With the wind whistling through the towering singing trees,
With the lonely roads stretched out on the horizon,
With the melting icicles of change
I am a teardrop on the petal of your eternal flower
I feel the whisper of your breath
Graze across my lips
A gentle imprint left behind
A kiss on my eyelashes
And I am yours
I am honored to be a part of you
Of us
Of now
Of distant past lives
And of
Unrevealed futures
I wear you like my favorite oversized cotton shirt
Threadbare at the elbows
You inhabit my body
Tracing the shapes of my ankles
With your fingertips
Massaging my toes
Following the curves of my hips
Kissing my eyes
And cupping my heart gently
I am in flight ... I am your messenger.
We are one. The radiant glow follows us
Light energy, a tribal dance,
A halo of flickering beauty
Blazing
A flame
Let us be beacons of light together
Fingertips touching, melding
Becoming one beating heart together
For all eternity
Elevating others around us in gratitude
From above in the silent air
I see a fire flickering in the darkness below
Shadows sway on the towering rock walls
A steady drumming in the distance
A drum of ancient hide
Thrumb - thrumb - thrumb
A father watching his newborn suckle at
Its Mother’s breast
A peace resides within
How glorious to be a piece, a part of, a fiber, a color
In this magnificent tapestry of life
That we have all woven together
I fly to the highest snow-covered peak with you and
Dive to the darkness on the ocean floor as
Mysteries reveal themselves
My tears are sweet with magic
And salty with memories
Of time gone by
You are my gift
My hands are warm
My heart is full
A silent smile fills my soul
And wraps me in its embrace
They elude me now ...words
Drinking befits a drowning man possessed
Swimming off this broken page
Baton winning in a relay race
I breached the ribbon sliced with chest
Joy! I gasped
Grown tired of my own riddles
Those halting jagged lines
Conversely I committed
So disrespectful of my crimes
In dispatchment utter lunacy
Forgiveness once again!
Ive come to claim my lost respect
My place so quick forgotten was
So Zeroed out of ten
Twelve steps from cursed enslavement
Danced to music uncontained
Toi-toi in lone detachment
Side stepping their allure
And tangoed with enticement
And cha-cha'd with no cure
Then dropping over hurdles
Burning through those barricades
All over all these obstacles
So help me God I try to change
No longer need prescription
Still sometimes do I crave
Unshackled is your prisoner
Dispossession freed this slave
There is something about that -ism
A mystery by name
Other than recovery
Benign this deathly game
Be it known that happy healing
Doubles, behind the curtains of shame
Sacred silence
Blended with praise
For the Creator, who always will amaze
Quietly hovering, winged splendor
Beautiful like the vibrant hues
Glazed in whispered dreams
Music, art and poetry
Blessed brilliance
Laughing like the stars
Whimsical and mysterious
Magnificent, painted in exciting tints
Melodious aspirations kindled
Beneath prayers for grace
Awakening on the heart of faith
Holy lights, soft sensations
Breathing – dancing
Across the flowers, the shadows
Breathtaking wisdom
Open to the heartfelt belief
That paints the spirit
In intimacy, caressing, kissing
Softly, like a sigh
Butterflies tour
The buds and blossoms
Grazing, amazing
Stunning those who see
These delicate adventurers
Stirring hearts, stirring dreams
Reminding eyes to see…
The journey of beauty and grace
Flickering across the prayer
For an image so amazing, praising

When I take flight, it could be by day or night. You may not see me, even if I am right in front of thee. An angel I would be, loving you and flying free. I like to fly, fly into the bright blue sky. I will be there when you cry, I can dry your eye. An angel I would be, loving you and flying free. I am like a butterfly, we both can fly real high. Do not ask why, because I am so very shy.

Rain drizzling on the window pane
Sullen moments, filled with melancholy
Wishes glued to hopes of sunshine
Rays washing away the storm clouds,
The gray day – the tempestuous darkness
Nothing in life ever felt quite as dismal
As the overcast moments when I was left
To my own devices, my own pretenses
Inside the house, where nothing felt as pleasant
As the wonders, the wildness, of the outdoors
As gloom settled into my pores, releasing
Me from the melted boredom, the dullness
Inside, where I only had a tv, books, board
Games and, of course, those imaginary departures
From those homemade paper airplanes…
Who soared, eagerly, riotously – toward destinations
Unknown, into cities and towns where I felt
The racing of my pulse as my heart sped zealously
Reminding me that this was a journey, a freedom
Far freer than any other I had been on…
For this was the flight that would take me –
Into kingdoms, fantasies, imaginary places
Where I could build fictional metropolises
Fantastic castles – rich and amazing moments
That were colored in hues of fanciful inventions
From a mind who was irked by the dismal wet weather

A prelude to darkness will glide on wings of twilight,
Night will slip its ebon shawl upon the sky
and twinkling stars will loosen dreams
that nestle in surreal gleams
Reality will open the dreamer's eyes
As shadows walk across the wall,
The arms of night holds the mystery of the stars,
As moonlight shines on mystic waterfalls
Dreams will take an imagined flight
As Morpheus shifts the shapes of the mind's dimension,
Things will be revealed in dreamland
Which may be a brief retention
Blanketed in slumber's peace
Riding gentle waves of serenity,
The troubles of the world are gone,
Until time exhales the seconds to dawn
