Feliz Navidad

Police! Oh my god!
Police! Oh my god!
Police! Oh my god!
Put me in handcuffs because I rob.

I Wanna phone call this very instant!
I Wanna phone call this very instant!
I Wanna phone call this very instant!
I beg pardon with all my heart!

Away In A Manger

Away to Aruba I wish I could go
But I've used all of my PTO
I don't have the money to get over there
My account is empty, I'm paycheck impaired

Rocking Around the Christmas Tree

Rocking in my old folks chair
Trying to recall my own name
Mr.Edwards takes a might fall
Trying to walk with a candy cane

You will get a hallucinating feeling when you hear
Voices saying your names Holly
Yet! I don't think my names Holly

Rocking in my old folks chair
That doesn't mean I'm done
Come visit me after my third or fourth nap
and we're sure to have some fun!

The Little Drummer Boy

I just finished Christmas treats
Tum tum tum tum tums
There's food I'm not supposed to eat
Tum tum tum tum tums
Digestion has been on the blink
Tum tum tum tum tums
Oops, afraid that one will stink
Tum tum tum tum tums
Tum tum tum  tums
Tum tum tum  tums
You know where that came from
Tum tum tum tum tums
From my bum. From my bum.

Up On the Housetop

Up on the house top he hears claws,
Scratching and roaring, oh my god!
Is it a panther or lioness?!
You've had too many, just confess!

Woah ho ho!! Over he goes!
Woah ho ho!! Right in the snow.
He's up on the housetop getting sick...
Ladders and alcohol don't mix!

When I was young, I had a great disdain
for Campell's nasty soup named Alphabet.
One Saturday it was our mother's threat
we had to eat it up or home remain
and miss the matinee. How inhumane!
Mom left the room; I never will forget
the thing which I'd repeat without regret -
I took that slop and tossed it down the drain!

When Mom returned, I'd "downed" all of my soup.
Again she left; Mel went to dump HER meal
and at the sink got caught. Poor nincompoop!
She missed "Red Riding Hood" while I, the heel,
went out. Our mom was left "out of the loop."
My little sister did not even squeal!

(Some slang words here for my non-native friends:
a "nincompoop" is a foolish person,
"out of the loop" means to never be aware of something
and the last verb "squeal" means to "tell on someone"
I always tried to get away with murder when I was young
and I can't believe my sister missed the movie by not telling
on me! On the other hand, I really enjoyed "Red Riding Hood" heehee)

What if the orbiting earth were to unexpectedly run into a brick wall
speeding through the galaxy one night in the middle of Fall?
Can you imagine the sounds of death, destruction, and annihilation
as Christchurch, New Zealand, crashes into the Atlanta Metro bus station?
I don’t think that that would be any fun at all!

Good Examples Made My Life-

Good Examples Made My Life…

WHEN I WAS A CHILD…
Father made a living providing a nice life.
Mother, was homemaker, caregiver, and wife.
Throughout the years, I watched those two.
Trying to find a pleasant life’s view.
I went to church when I was young.
My faith upon grown-up examples was hung.
When reality struck, it hit very hard,
For several years, my heart felt charred.

WHEN I WAS DISTROUGHT…
God sent two young men, clean cut, alert
Dressed in dark suits; wearing white shirts
Tap tap tapping on my front door.
They changed my for life evermore—
They brought me back into God’s groove.
But never knew it because I moved.
They said the words that sparked my heart.
Words once lost before a fresh start.

WHEN I NEEDED HELP…
There once was that man, long ago
That helped me even though I said, “No”
I was changing my own flat tire; avoiding ire.
Just like always, shunning manly desires.
Gently jumping I bounced on my stuck lug wrench.
So, like many times before moving inch by inch.
He spoke of his family and his love for his wife.
I let him help; as promised he gave me no strife.

LIFE WENT ON…
I reached in my heart,
Opened up and let God take part.
I read His word; went back to church.
Sat each Sunday on pews of birch.
As I grew old, life’s thoughts reran.
My daughters were married, my son a man.
Now, I thank the Lord that is up above.
For the blessings of love He sent to me.

MANY YEARS PAST and I still remember …
God sent two young men, clean cut, alert
Dressed in dark suits; wearing white shirts
Tap tap tapping on my front door.

Examples That Are Shining

Examples That Are Shining

Contributed and motivated
by Word Warrior as usual.

While each word was beating up and walloping
God came into my life and had been galloping
Said before each of my poems He would trample
Should be using Poetry Soup as a perfect example.

God's words against I never should be warring
And always resisting and continually deploring
His courage and bravery is sure to wait for you
Even when writing many poems of just a few.

God's knowledge into should constantly delve
Amount of poetry books became complete shelve
Out of all this what was the most extraordinary
All of them weighed so much and could not carry.

Then after all of my poetry writing had ended
On them, many poets at Soup still depended
And instead of complaining and always whining
See poems as examples that love to be shining.

Samples of Examples

It is like we are being in a college class everyday,
And are taking notes about the news course on TV.
We want to stay informed and be aware of things.
Earth is going to hell in a big basket out of control.
Hour by hour I pray for God's help and assistance
to fight the resistance and obsessive worldly pleasure.
Am afraid that we are becoming completely worn out.
Where will it end and what will be next Trump Trauma?
God is the only one who knows that I know of.

Samples of Examples

Let God's love and power set perfect example,
And of them we should enjoy trying a sample;
Use them to overcome all such worldly powers;
If out of control can cause horror hour by hour.

Best sources of power are ones we can control;
For instance, electrical energy carried on a pole,
When outside much cold God meant us to meet,
Answer when we searched for sources of heat.

People killing people produces hate and disgust;
Trust ceases and into mental anguish are thrust;
Disaster does begin to exist in so many forms;
Creates conflict in mental and emotional storms.

Sure seems so sad such a poor state we are in;
Why would anyone let terror and trauma begin,
While Christ long ago had been baring a cross,
We are in a complete and utter state of chaos.

Before this  has been  digested,
Wonder what will be suggested.

Examples, Not Excuses

Be they stronger or weaker,
You are still the same.

Seek and set as you improve

The Examples We Set!

The Examples We Set!

“Grandma”, the young boy spoke.
His face was serious.
He was telling no joke.
Grandma was curious.
“What is it, my grandson?”
He points to one finger.
“See that finger Grandma.”
Yes.” She replied looking.
“That’s a bad finger…bad!”
He exclaimed pointing to
His little middle finger,
Continuing he said,
“When I grow up I am
Going to use that finger.
“That wouldn’t be very nice.”
His grandmother remarked.
“You are too nice to use
That finger…”
“Well, he continued,
“My dad uses it and
I’m going use it too,
When I grow up.”

Examples of Green

The color of money, the muck in a stream;
There’s the color of envy, for the things that you’ve seen.
   Green in the gills from dangerous pills;
   Green scrubber pads that clean up the swill.
Apathy bound cuz you got no green;
Marks left on the finger from a cheaply made ring.
   The mark of distinction separating the sky;
   Post nasal dripping that simply won’t dry.
The color of Pippins, picked from a tree;
Throwing green money in an uncontrolled spree.
   Green little breath mints, there’s tic and there’s tack;
   Green Meadow racing, horses run on the track.
Green little candies called jelly beans;
Green colored mold that seeps through the seams.
  These are my examples, though a little off beat;
  That’s all I should offer before I repeat.

Examples of Attempted Compromise

okay,
i will talk about flowers
if you will talk about togetherness
okay,
i will walk beside you
if you will agree to slow down
okay,
you can have your freshly brewed coffee
if you can accept my concentrated orange juice
okay,
i will check out the abstract art of you
if you will look at the iridescent paint splotches of me
okay,
i will just tell you that i love you as you love me
if you can accept that and kiss me in that 'you' way
okay,
i will get in touch with my sensitive side
if you will freely admit that you too have flaws
okay,
i will meet you at a busy interesction
if you are willing to join me on a one way street
okay,
i will gladly go with you in the exact same direction
if you will finally conclude this crap so we can get something to eat!
